Abstract:We have succeeded in constructing a 3D POM–MOF, {H[Ni(Hbpdc)(H2O)2]2[PW12O40]·8H2O}n (H2bpdc=2,2′-bipyridyl-3,3′-dicarboxylic acid), by the controllable self-assembly of H2bpdc, Keggin-anions and Ni2+ ions based on the electrostatic and coordination interactions. Interestingly, Hbpdc− as polydentate organic ligands and Keggin-anion as polydentate inorganic ligands are covalently linked transition-metal nickel at the same time. The title complex represents a new example of introducing the metal N-heterocyclic multi-carboxylic acid frameworks into POMs chemistry. Based on Keggin-anions being immobilized as part of the metal N-heterocyclic multi-carboxylic acid framework, the title complex realizes four approaches in the 1D hydrophilic channel used to engender proton conductivity in MOFs. Its water adsorption isotherm at room temperature and pressure shows that the water content in it was 31cm3g−1 at the maximum allowable humidity, corresponding to 3.7 water molecules per unit formula. It exhibits good proton conductivities (10−4–10−3Scm−1) at 100°C in the relative humidity range 35–98%. The corresponding activation energy (Ea) of conductivity was estimated to be 1.01eV.

Abstract:An organic–inorganic hybrid solid material, [Ni(m-bitmb)4][H5PMoVI8VIV4O40(VIVO)2]·8H2O (m-bitmb = 1, 3-bis (1-imidazol-1-ylmethyl)-2,4,6-trimethylbenzene) 1, constructed from a bi-capped Keggin structural anion [H5PMoVI8VIV4O40(VIVO)2]2− (abbreviated as PMo8V6), and saddle shape cluster [Ni(m-bitmb)4]2+, has been synthesized. Compound 1 is also demonstrated to be a high activity for benzaldehyde in the oxidation of styrene.

Abstract:A novel polyoxometalate [Co(C2N2H8)3]4[MoV2MoVI14VIV16O80(PO4)2]·10H2O 1 has been hydrothermal synthersized from the rection mixture of V2O5, CoCl2·2H2O, Na2MoO4·2H2O, ethylenediamine(en), H3PO3 and H2O in a reasonable yield(48%). The X-ray crystallography shows that 1 containing two types of typical heteropoly anions: tetra-capping Keggin anions and hexadecametal host shell anions. This is the first structurally characterized example of a heteropoly compound containing two types of anions. In compound 1, the Co2+ cations are coordinated by three ethylendiamine ligands, and [Co(en)3]2+ cations link the metal–oxygen cluster anions, to form a extensive three-dimensional supramolecular assembly through the hydrogen bonding. Compound 1 crystallallizes in the tetragonal with space group I4/mcm, a=b=19.6613(19), c=33.738(5)Å, V=13042(3)Å3.

A water molecule at the center of the anion was precisely determined. Abstract:A new member of giant polyoxomolybdate containing bridging hydroxylamine groups has been unexpectedly obtained during the preparation of the material of {Mo57V6}, (NH4)4Na2[MoVI36O108(NH2OH)2(OH)6(H2O)12]⋅35H2O. The title compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/n, a=16.7886(2), b=18.4309(3), c=24.49950(10) Å, β=99.58°, V=7475.18(15) Å3, Z=2, and D calc =2.817. Each giant cluster anion [MoVI36O108(NH2OH)2(OH)6(H2O)12]6− ({Mo36(NO)2}) consists of two large [MoVI15O50(MoO)4+2(μ-NH2OH)(μ-OH)(t-OH)2(t-OH2)6]5− ({Mo17} units linked together by two {MoO2}2+ centers; these anions {Mo36(NO)2} are further connected via distorted mono-capped pentagonal-pyramidal sodium into a three-dimensional structure with channels that filled with lattic water molecules and NH+4 ions.

Abstract:The heteropoly compound [((VO4)-O-V)(MO12O36)-O-VI((VO)-O-IV)(6)][(OH)(9)].11H(2)O (1), synthesized by hydrothermal method under weak basic conditions, represents the first mixed Mo/V six-capped Keggin structural derivative with a spherical skeleton, and the first transition metal polyoxocation. The successful synthesis of 1 demonstrates that basic hydrothermal synthesis might be a power synthetic route to the isolation of more new polycationic metal-oxo clusters.

Abstract:Two Keggin-type heteropolyanions were synthesized and characterized by X-ray crystal structure and elemental analysis as well as infrared spectroscopy. Both K3[VMo12O40]⋅19H2O (1) and [N i (H2O)6][H3PMoVMoVI11O40]2⋅30 H2O (2) were prepared in aqueous solution. Compound 1 crystallized in the space group Pm-3m, a=10.6513(1) Å, V=1208.4(3) Å3, Z=1. Compound 2 crystallized in the space group R-3 with a=b=13.9669(2) Å, c=42.0075(5) Å, V=7096.71(2) Å3, Z=3. The compound 1 contains a {K6VMo12O40} group in which six potassium ions form a regular {K6} octahedron. The heteropolyanion [VMo12O40]3− was capped by six potassium ions and enclosed by {K6} octahedron. A three-dimensional structure was formed by the buildup of {K3[VMo12O40]} n . Compound 2 contains a one-electron reduced heteropolyanion [H3PMoVMoVI11O40]1−. Ni2+ coordinated by six water molecules as the counter cation balances the negative charge of the molecule.

Abstract:A bicapped Keggin anion-supported cobalt–phenanthroline complex [{Co(phen)2(H2O)}2PMo10VIV4IVO42][{Co(phen)2}2PMo8VIMo2VV4IVO42]·4H2O (1) has been hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized by elemental analyses, single crystal X-ray diffraction and IR spectrum. Interestingly, all the polyanions constitute an anionic layer, while all the polycations are linked to form a cationic layer by the hydrogen bonding interactions. The result of magnetic measurement for compound 1 shows a typical antiferromagnetic interactions in the 2–300K temperature range.

Abstract:Abstract A novel polyoxometalate [Cu(phen)2]3{PW4VIW5VV3IVO40(VIVO)3[Cu(en)2]}⋅4H2O 1 (en=ethylenediamine, phen=1,10-phenanthroline) has been synthesized hydrothermally and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, XPS, TG, EPR and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The crystal structure analysis shows that compound 1 contains a novel highly reduced tri-capped and mono-supported pseudo-Keggin-type heteropolyanion, {PW4VIW5VV3IVO40(VIVO)3[Cu(en)2]}6−, three [Cu(phen)2]2+ cations and four lattice water molecules. They are further linked to form three-dimensional supramolecular networks through extensive hydrogen bonding and π–π stacking interactions. Interestingly, the water dimer and terminal oxygen of the cluster polyanion constitute a beautiful supramolecular helix chain. The heteropolyanion is the first example of tri-capped and mono-supported pseudo-Keggin-type tungstovanadophosphate and the pH value is crucial for obtaining compound 1 in synthetic procedure.

Abstract:A novel heteropolyoxometallate with the formula [H3NNH3]2K2MnMo9O32·(NH3)·3H2O has been prepared in water solution. The crystal structure of the title compound was determined by the single-crystal method. This new mixed metal anionic complex crystallizes in the rhombohedral space group R3 (No. 146) with a=b=15.873(5), c=12.344(6) Å, γ=120°. The disordered structure contains three molecules in the unit cell. Full-matrix least-squares refinements of the title complex yielded final reliability (R) factors of 0.0356 (Rw=0.0868) with a goodness-of-fit (GOF, Σ2) value of 1.099 based on 1430 [I>2σ(I)] observed reflections. All Mo and Mn atoms are six-coordinated octahedrally to form a Mn-centered cage with a Mo9O32 group as the framework.

Abstract:A new bicapped Keggin heteropolyoxoanion derivative [Co(bpy)(3)](2)[(PMo8V3VO40)-V-VI-V-V-O-IV((VO)-O-IV)(2)] [{Co(bpy)(2)(H2O)}(2){(PMo8V3VO40)-V-VI-V-V-O-IV((VO)-O-IV)(2)}] (.) 8H(2)O (1) (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine), has been hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized by elemental analysis, single crystal X-ray diffraction, IR and X-ray photoelectron spectra. Complex 1 consists of two [Co(bpy)(3)](2+) cations, an anion of [(PMo8V3VO40)-V-VI-V-V-O-IV((VO)-O-IV)(2)](4-) and a neutral unit [{Co(bpy)(2)(H2O)}(2) {(PMo8V3VO40)-V-VI-V-V-O-IV((VO)-O-IV)(2)}] in which {(PMo8V3VO40)-V-VI-V-V-O-IV((VO)-O-IV)(2)}(4-) is coordinated to two Co atoms through its terminal oxygen atoms of the two capping V atoms at opposite sites together with bipyridine and water ligands. The most interesting feature of 1 is that a polyoxoanion and a neutral component coexist in the crystal structure. Hydrogen-bonding contacts are also formed between different polyanions through the lattice water molecules.

Abstract:A new bicapped Keggin polyoxometalate derivative, [Co(phen)(3)](2)[(SiMo8Mo4V2O42)-Mo-VI-V-V-O-IV].H2O (phen=1,10'-phenanthroline), has been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions by using H4SiMo12O40 as starting materials. Two kinds of crystallographic unique supramolecular chains coexisted in the crystal structure. Abstract:The hydrothermal reaction of NaVO3.H2O, barbituric acid, NH2NH2.2HCl, H3PO4, and H2O gave a novel heteropolyoxovanadate Na-6[((PO4)-O-V)(V6V12O39)-V-V-O-IV](2).H3PO4.31H(2)O (1) and an unexpected phase Na-2[C12H6N6O9].7H(2)O (2). The basic building blocks in 1 are the six-capped sphere-shaped heteropoly anion [((PO4)-O-V)(V6V12O39)-V-V-O-IV](3-) with framework similar to that of the reported polyoxovanadates possessing {V18O42} clusters encapsulating VO4 or other ions. These heterpoly anionic units are linked via V-O-V bridges into an interesting 3D straight-channel structure. The structure of 2 consists of novel organic anions ([C12N6H6O9](2-), 5,5-bis(2',4', 6'-trioxopyrimidyl) barbital, representing the first oxidized barbituric acid trimer) linked via sodium ions into 1 D hollow tubes with diameter of 4.49 x 6.86 Angstrom and further connected into a three-dimensional framework via hydrogen bonds.

Abstract:Two novel organic-inorganic hybrid polyoxometalates, [Cu(2,2'-bpy)(2)](2)[(HmXMo10Mo2O40)-Mo-VI-O-V]center dot 2H(2)O (X = P, m = 11: X = Si, m = 22; 2,2'-bpy -ridine), have been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. They are isostructural, possessing orthorhombic, and the parameters of unit cells for compound 1 are space group Pbca, a = 17.317(4) angstrom. b = 17.092(3) angstrom, c = 20.587(4) angstrom, V = 6445(2) angstrom(3), Z = 4; for compound 2 are space group Pcab, a = 17.181(3) angstrom b = 18.198(4) angstrom, c = 20.672(4) angstrom, V= 6463(2) angstrom(3), Z = 4. The two compounds show a layer framework constructed from Keggin-poly-oxoanion clusters and [Cu (2, 2'-bpy)(2)](2+) coordination polymer fragments via weak covalent interactions, resulting in a 3D network via supramolecular interactions. Abstract:A new polyoxometalate-based three-dimensional supramolecular compound,[H_2bpy]_2[SiMo~(Ⅵ)_8 Mo~V_4V~(Ⅳ)_2O_(42)]·3H_2O,has been hydrothermally synthesized by using pre-synthesized H_4SiMo_(12)O_(40) as building block.It crystallizes in the monoclinic system,space group C2/c,a=1.427 9(7) nm,b=1.901 2(4) nm,c=2.091 4(9) nm,β=97.73(6)°,V=5.626 5(8) nm~3 and Z=4.The compound represents the first example of hydrogen-bonded three-dimensional framework in which bicapped Keggin polyoxoanions are linked together by water-dimer through hydrogen bonds.The compound was used as a bulk-modifier to fabricate a chemically modified carbon paste electrode(CPE) by direct mixing.Its electrochemical behavior was studied at the same time.

Abstract:The first molybdovanadate cluster with a polyarylimido trimetal fragment, [V4Mo3O14(NAr)3(μ2-NAr)3]2-, was in situ synthesized by using (TBA)3[H3V10O28] as proton and vanadium sources. Additional aniline hydrochlorides will give rise to the formation of phenyl guanidines, which will serve as cations and proton donors to form chain-like and dimeric supermolecules via H-bonding.
