Abstract:With the growing access to heterogeneous and independent product data repositories, the treatment of differences in the structure and semantics of the data plays a major role in product knowledge systems. Recent research has used ontology as the knowledge base that describes concepts. For the great variation both in the level of detail and logic of different ontology representations, an integration process is needed. Comparing conception is a basic operation in the process. This paper has introduced three individual mapping methods on conception compare - Affix, Edit Distance and Synonym (WordNet). To evaluate their actual effects, a product ontology mapping task has applied these methods. Comparative study on the experiment results shows that each method has some disadvantages and can not complete the mapping task independently. To achieve better effect, it is necessary to improve the performance of the individual methods and combine their mapping results.

Abstract:A hierarchical framework for product knowledge management was presented to represent,reuse,share and exchange product knowledge.Integrating the contents in 3D models and product design knowledge,the framework is divided into three levels: metadata layer,ontology layer and application layer.Data in the metadata layer is automatically extracted from standard for the exchange of product model data(STEP) files.The metadata layer is used to precisely navigate for product data.Based on a layered product model,the ontology layer is constructed to represent product data in a general and uniform way.By mapping between form-features extracted from 3D models and ontology concepts,a new retrieval mechanism on the application layer bridgeds the gap between semantic-based approaches and case-based approaches.A prototype system was implemented to demonstrate the feasibility and effectivity of the advanced methodology.

Abstract:It's hard to search the needed knowledge in the Internet, because the same knowledge usually have different descriptions and name when knowledge management system takes mass knowledge in the Internet as source. Knowledge was described with ontology and different descriptions of the same knowl-edge were connected by using the similar ontology to resolve the problem. A prototype of web knowledge management system based on ontology (O-WKMS) was developed in order to reduce the difficult of ontol-ogy establishment and decrease the ontology maintenance costs. The system structure model and process model were presented. The technology {or ontology establishment of collaborative based on self-organiza-tion principle was described in detail, and ontology-based semantic search was realized with Lucene engine. Primary application shows that the enterprise's knowledge base can be further ordered and the efficiency for web knowledge discovery, management and retrieval can be improved with the knowledge ontology establishment of collaborative and self-organization mode.

Abstract:On basis of the thorough analysis of the deficiencies of the current requirement engineering techniques, this paper puts forward an automatic conversion method from the customer requirement knowledge to product configuration knowledge based on ontology mapping. In addition, this paper discusses the customer requirement domain ontology and product configuration domain ontology, then proposes an ontology-based customer requirement model (CRM) and an ontology-based product configuration model(PCM). Based on the rules of ontology mapping,a PCM modeling framework is provided, which consists of ontology mapping, knowledge mapping and model mapping. Also, the corresponding algorithm for acquisition of PCM is presented.

Abstract:One of the important problems in the development of techniques for the semantic Web is the mapping of ontologies. Indeed,the Web is constituted by a variety of information sources,each expressed over a certain ontology-In order to share the information among such sources, their semantic mapping is required- In this paper, first we discuss the three integration architectures. Then we refer to the taxonomy which is presented by E- Ramh.and apply to summarize various major ontology mapping approaches. At last. we compare four typical mapping approaches following the criteria,and conclude that the combination of the individual matchers is a promising direction.

Abstract:Because of different expressions is used to describe the product knowledge with the same connotation by different users and designers, it lead to the emergence of a variety of heterogeneous problems. The mapping for the modular ontologies of product knowledge has advantages to solving the problems. At the same time, it can also further improve the accuracy and completeness of acquisition of product knowledge. In the article, based on the description of heterogeneous problems in product knowledge, the structure, semantics and characteristics heterogeneities in modular ontologies of product knowledge are defined. The heterogeneous problems in product knowledge are classified. A mapping process model for modular ontology of product knowledge is given. Abstract:This paper presented ontology classification and representation of manufacturing corporation knowledge firstly, embody idea and methodology of ontology classification and representation. Secondly, the frame, theory and algorithm of ontology mapping technology and ontology semantic transform, its core technology of knowledge sharing and integration were investigated. Based on above, we give the model of knowledge integration. This methodology of knowledge integration based on ontology overcomes defects of semantic information losing because of old database integration using medial agency or software interface. Abstract:Researches on product information model, modeling method and operation method are the key issues for supporting knowledge processing and sharing in modern enterprise. A knowledge-based product information modeling framework was proposed according to the methodology of ontology and semantic Web. There are three layers in the model: object wrapper, middleware, and enterprise application. By introduction of ontology-driven middleware layer, production information semantics were kept consistent and the interoperability between models was enhanced. A mapping method from EXPRESS schema to DAML+OIL was given as the basis of construction of the middleware layer. The advantage of the method was illustrated with an example of product information model in DAML+OIL.

Abstract:The definition of modular ontology of product knowledge was given. The idea of the product knowledge integration based on modular ontology of product knowledge was presented. An integration method based on structure-semantics-specific product knowledge modular ontology was proposed. In the method, construction of the relation bridge rules, identification of the integration rules and integration implementation were established through structure, semantics and specific levels. The flow chart of the integration process was given. The achievement of the integration process was showed through examples and enterprise application.

Abstract:To effectively integrate product information spanning various stages throughout the whole product life cycle, and facilitate seamless sharing and interoperability at knowledge level in heterogeneous collaborative environment, a framework of integrated product modeling based on multiple ontologies is presented. This framework is composed of master model and domain models with the development of a shared basic ontology and domain-specific ontologies. Both the ontologies enable product knowledge acquisition and management. The layered master model contains semantic-enriched core and shared information and supports product and process integration. By extracting from master model and knowledge-based reusing from others in different contexts, the domain models are established with well-defined meaning, which permits each discipline to work on its own perspective while ensuring co-ordination and consistency at knowledge level in multidisciplinary collaborative product development.

Abstract:The design quality information and matching method based on semantic distance was presented in product designing process. Product design process was divided into five phases, and then the model of product design quality information was built. According to the model, the design task, designer and design quality information were analyzed. The task meta, object meta and information meta were described and the data structure was built. Using hierarchical network of concepts (HNC) and combining with semantic distance calculation, the quantification and comparing of text similarity can be realized based on framework of context text similarity. Finally, the conceptual design of injection molding machine was taken as an example, the result showed the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract:The function of knowledge map was analyzed,and a knowledge matching method was proposed based on the knowledge map constructed in the knowledge base of product design.The directed acyclic digraph was used to describe the knowledge nodes and their relations in the knowledge map.The knowledge nodes were mapped to be state space in the characteristic factor space,and the similarity degree between the state space and the target knowledge was calculated.The child nodes were extended gradually according to the relations among the knowledge nodes so that the rank of the state space rose.The similarity degree was calculated circularly until the knowledge chain containing the knowledge node element with the maximum similarity degree was searched out as the result.Application in a jewelry company indicates that the algorithm can completely and exactly search out the knowledge needed in the product design and help to improve the efficiency of product design.

Abstract:Product ontologies in E-commerce establish a shared and common understanding of product domain by building hierarchies of product classes enriched by attributes. In standard product ontologies, such as UNSPSC (Universal Standard Products and Services Classification Code), the main drawback is the lack of attributes attached to the concepts. As table is an important means for organizing products information in E-commerce Web-station, a semi-automatic approach was proposed to extract property conceptual ontology from tables. The approach used UNSPSC as embryonic kernel ontology. Table recognition, table normalization, table structure detection, unit product ontology and global product ontology building were researched. The semi-automatic approach can avoid the non-consistence due to the absence of description standard in standard product ontology and realize the automatic extension and complement of the kernel ontology.

Abstract:As the representation of the semantic Web,the ontology is the key element of the semantic Web system,and the key for knowledge sharing and working together.However,in the real world,the inherent heterogeneous and distribution of ontology have greatly limited the knowledge sharing and data integration.In order to realize the knowledge sharing and data integration,the ontology matching has been widely studied.With the deepening of the research,nume-rous of effective ontology matching methods have been proposed.RiMOM2 is a multi-strategy framework of ontology matching,which integrated many effective ontology matching methods.For primary users,RiMOM2 hides unnecessary thresholds and parameters settings in order to achieve an easily manipulated ontology matching with common requirements.While for advanced users,it provides a customizable matching process function so that it can be used for ontology matching with specific requirements.The matching method components also are easily extensible in the framework.

Abstract:The prevalent M&A business practices call for attentions to the effective management and use of inter-organizational knowledge for organizational learning.Inter-organizational knowledge sharing is more complicated than the traditional intra-organizational knowledge sharing because the former has a higher degree of knowledge inconsistency,misrepresentation,and inconsistency of terminology.The purpose of this paper is to improve the effectiveness of knowledge sharing across organizations by addressing those inconsistency issues. We first standardize definitions for knowledge resided in different organizations,and then integrate knowledge across organizations based on the ontology method.We further use the Semantic Web technology to develop algorithms for closure,query and isomorphism.The proposed knowledge integration process include the following activities:(1) users input the query conditions,(2) knowledge center inquires each individual corporation and concludes with a set of knowledge(3) knowledge center re-inquires and combines the results,(4) knowledge center computes the closure according to the public ontology,(5) knowledge center computes the closure's standardized isomorphism and provides feedback on representation module,and(6) the representation module organizes the results and shows the readable query result to the user. A prototype system is developed according to closure,query and isomorphism algorithms.A business case of knowledge integration among steel companies is used to show the functions of the system.The case shows that effective knowledge integration processes can produce incremental knowledge.We also conduct two experiments to measure the performance of the prototype system.The time cost increases almost linearly with the increasing scale of the knowledge base.In contrast,the time cost for the results remains stable with the increasing scale of target set.Effective knowledge sharing process can increase knowledge values. Knowledge integration is an important part of knowledge sharing.After standardizing "knowledge integration" definitions,we propose a complete set of mechanisms to integrate knowledge across organizations and use the Semantic Web technology to execute those mechanisms.This study proves the effectiveness and performance of our prototype system.
Actively Learning Ontology Matching via User Interaction

Abstract:Ontology matching plays a key role for semantic interoperability. Many methods have been proposed for automatically finding the alignment between heterogeneous ontologies. However, in many real-world applications, finding the alignment in a completely automatic way is highly infeasible . Ideally, an ontology matching system would have an interactive interface to allow users to provide feedbacks to guide the automatic algorithm. Fundamentally, we need answer the following questions: How can a system perform an efficiently interactive process with the user? How many interactions are sufficient for finding a more accurate matching? To address these questions, we propose an active learning framework for ontology matching, which tries to find the most informative candidate matches to query the user. The user's feedbacks are used to: 1) correct the mistake matching and 2) propagate the supervise information to help the entire matching process. Three measures are proposed to estimate the confidence of each matching candidate. A correct propagation algorithm is further proposed to maximize the spread of the user's "guidance". Experimental results on several public data sets show that the proposed approach can significantly improve the matching accuracy (+8.0% better than the baseline methods).

Abstract:Considering that the semantic difference in customer demand knowledge and product configuration knowledge caused the problem of poor configuration accuracy in mass customization, an ontology configuration method oriented to individual demand is proposed. The functional ontology model of customer demand and the function-structure-part level ontology model of product family are constructed; this paper uses the combination method of semantic similarity and semantic relevancy to map between ontology, multi-level match between the functional demands and the product family is realized; finally, an example of a reducer is presented to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method. Through the semantic mapping between ontology, the knowledge sharing of demand field and product family field are realized, configuration efficiency is increased, individual demand is satisfied quickly.

Abstract:In order to solve the problem of modeling product configuration knowledge at the semantic level to successfully implement the mass customization strategy, an approach of ontology-based configuration knowledge modeling, combining semantic web technologies, was proposed.A general configuration ontology was developed to provide a common concept structure for modeling configuration knowledge and rules of specific product domains.The OWL web ontology language and semantic web rule language (SWRL) were used to formally represent the configuration ontology,domain configuration knowledge and rules to enhance the consistency,maintainability and reusability of all the configuration knowledge.The configuration knowledge modeling of a customizable personal computer family shows that the approach can provide explicit,computer-understandable knowledge semantics for specific product configuration domains and can efficiently support automatic configuration tasks of complex products.

Based on domestic and overseas research, a model of research-team Knowledge Network is built on knowledge management theory, complex network theory and compute technology. Then, its structure is deeply analyzed. Research-team Knowledge Network is composed by organization members and organization knowledge. The Network is made complex by connections among people, connections between people and knowledge and connections among knowledge. The research frame of this network includes building, realizing and structure analyzing of the model. This Network model which has a bilayer structure is built based on the analysis of organization knowledge components. The research-team Knowledge Network can be realized by using noumenon engineering method, so that it can be acquired.
