Abstract:This paper mainly concerns Beurling type quotient modules of H2(D2) over the bidisk. By establishing a theorem of function theory over the bidisk, it is shown that a Beurling type quotient module is essentially normal if and only if the corresponding inner function is a rational inner function having degree at most (1,1). Furthermore, we apply this result to the study of boundary representations of Toeplitz algebras over quotient modules. It is proved that the identity representation of C∗(Sz,Sw) is a boundary representation of B(Sz,Sw) in all nontrivial cases. This extends a result of Arveson to Toeplitz algebras on Beurling type quotient modules over the bidisk (cf. [W. Arveson, Subalgebras of C∗-algebras, Acta Math. 123 (1969) 141–224; W. Arveson, Subalgebras of C∗-algebras II, Acta Math. 128 (1972) 271–308]). The paper also establishes K-homology defined by Beurling type quotient modules over the bidisk.

Abstract:In this article, we explore Higgs bundles on a projective manifold $X$, focusing on their spectral bases, a concept introduced by T.Chen and B.Ngô. The spectral base is a specific closed subscheme within the space of symmetric differentials. We observe that if the spectral base vanishes, then any reductive representation $\rho: \pi_1(X) \to \text{GL}_r(\mathbb{C})$ is both rigid and integral. Additionally, we prove that for $X=\Omega/\Gamma$, a quotient of a bounded symmetric domain $\Omega$ of rank at least $2$ by a torsion-free cocompact irreducible lattice $\Gamma$, the spectral base indeed vanishes, which generalizes a result of B.Klingler.

Abstract:The Hardy space H 2 (D 2 ) over the bidisk is a module over the polynomial ring C[z 1 , z 2 ]. This paper studies two natural objects associated with submodules in H 2 (D 2 ), namely the core fraction and the core operator. Boundary values of the core function exhibit. a Beurling-type phenomenon, and the Hilbert-Schmidt norm of the core operator is shown to be an important numerical invariant of M. For a homogeneous ideal I ⊂ C[z i ,z 2 ], let I = pL be its Beurling form; then it is shown that the core operator for the submodule [I] is of finite rank if and only if p = z k 1z 2 for some nonnegative integers k, .

Abstract:We determine the Taylor spectra of quotient tuples of the d-shift on Drury-Arveson spaces with finite-dimensional coefficient spaces. We show that the Taylor spectrum can be described in terms of the approximate zero set of the annihilator ideal, and in terms of the pointwise behavior of the inner multiplier associated with the quotient tuple.

On the slice spectral sequence for quotients of norms of Real bordism

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate equivariant quotients of the Real bordism spectrum's multiplicative norm $MU^{((C_{2^n}))}$ by permutation summands. These quotients are of interest because of their close relationship with higher real $K$-theories. We introduce new techniques for computing the equivariant homotopy groups of such quotients. As a new example, we examine the theories $BP^{((C_{2^n}))}\langle m,m\rangle$. These spectra serve as natural equivariant generalizations of connective integral Morava $K$-theories. We provide a complete computation of the $a_{\sigma}$-localized slice spectral sequence of $i^*_{C_{2^{n-1}}}BP^{((C_{2^n}))}\langle m,m\rangle$, where $\sigma$ is the real sign representation of $C_{2^{n-1}}$. To achieve this computation, we establish a correspondence between this localized slice spectral sequence and the $H\mathbb{F}_2$-based Adams spectral sequence in the category of $H\mathbb{F}_2 \wedge H\mathbb{F}_2$-modules. Furthermore, we provide a full computation of the $a_{\lambda}$-localized slice spectral sequence of the height-4 theory $BP^{((C_{4}))}\langle 2,2\rangle$. The $C_4$-slice spectral sequence can be entirely recovered from this computation.

Abstract:In this paper, we obtain a complete classification under unitary equivalence for Hardy submodules on the polydisk which are generated by ideals of polynomials. Let I be an ideal of polynomials in n variables. Since I is generated by finitely many polynomials, I has a greatest common divisor p. So, I can be uniquely written as I=p L which is called the Beurling form of I. Let I1=p1L1, I2=p2L2. We prove that [I1] and [I2] are unitarily equivalent if and only if there are polynomials q1 and q2 with Z(q1)∩Dn=Z(q2)∩Dn=∅ such that |p1q1|=|p2q2| on Tn, and [p1L1]=[p1L2]. Consequently, two principal submodules [p1] and [p2] are unitarily equivalent if and only if there are polynomials q1 and q2 with Z(q1)∩Dn=Z(q2)∩Dn=∅ such that |p1q1|=|p2q2| on Tn. Furthermore, we give a complete similarity classification for submodules generated by homogeneous ideals. Finally, we point out that in the case of the Hardy module on the unit ball, [I1] and [I2] are unitarily equivalent if and only if they are equal. If I1 and I2 are homogeneous ideals, then [I1] and [I2] are quasi-similar if and only if I1=I2.

Abstract:In this paper, we give a complete characterization for the essential normality of quasi-homogenous quotient modules of the Hardy modules $$H^2 \left( {\mathbb{D}^2 } \right)$$. Also, we show that if d ≥ 3, then all the principle homogenous quotient modules of $$H^2 \left( {\mathbb{D}^d } \right)$$ are not essentially normal.

Abstract:We introduce a Grassmannian structure for a class of quotient Hilbert modules and attack the polydisc version of Arveson-Douglas conjecture associated to distinguished varieties. More interestingly, we obtain an operator-theoretic characterization of distinguished varieties in the bidisk in terms of essential normality of the quotient modules. As an application, we study the K-homology of the boundary of distinguished variety.

Abstract:The $p$-adic unitary operator $U$ is defined as an invertible operator on $p$-adic ultrametric Banach space such that $\left |U\right |=\left |U^{-1}\right |=1$. We point out $U$ has a spectral measure valued in $\textbf{projection functors}$, which can be explained as the measure theory on the formal group scheme. The spectrum decomposition of $U$ is complete when $\psi$ is a $p$-adic wave function. We study $\textbf{the Galois theory of operators}$. The abelian extension theory of $\mathbb{Q}_p$ is connected to the topological properties of the $p$-adic unitary operator. We classify the $p$-adic unitary operator as three types: $\textbf{Teichmüller type}, \textbf{continuous type}, \textbf{pro-finite type}$. Finally, we establish a $\textbf{framework of $p$-adic quantum mechanics}$, where projection functor plays a role of quantum measurement.

Beurling's Theorem for Valuation Hilbert Modules and Several Complex Variables

Abstract:We develop a theory of Valuation Hilbert Modules and prove a version of Beurling's theorem for these. Then we apply our version of Beurling's theorem to obtain complete descriptions of the closed invariant subspaces of a number of Hilbert spaces of analytic functions in several complex variables, including $H^2$ of the polydisk the ball, and bounded symmetric domains, and weighted $A^2$ spaces on complex analytic manifolds.

Abstract:The notions of joint and outer spectral radii are extended to the setting of Hilbert $C^*$-bimodules. A Rota-Strang type characterisation is proved for the joint spectral radius. In this general setting, an approximation result for the joint spectral radius in terms of the outer spectral radius has been established. This work leads to a new proof of the Wielandt-Friedland's formula for the spectral radius of positive maps. Following an idea of J. E. Pascoe, a positive map called the maximal part has been associated to any positive map with non-zero spectral radius, on finite dimensional $C^*$-algebras. This provides a constructive treatment of the Perron-Frobenius theorem. It is seen that the maximal part of a completely positive map has a very simple structure and it is irreducible if and only if the original map is irreducible. It is observed that algebras generated by tuples of matrices can be determined and their dimensions can be computed by realizing them as linear span of Choi-Kraus coefficients of some easily computable completely positive maps.

Abstract:Let $\Gamma \subset \operatorname{PU}(1,n)$ be a lattice, and $S_\Gamma$ the associated ball quotient. We prove that, if $S_\Gamma$ contains infinitely many maximal totally geodesic subvarieties, then $\Gamma$ is arithmetic. We also prove an Ax-Schanuel Conjecture for $S_\Gamma$, similar to the one recently proven by Mok, Pila and Tsimerman. One of the main ingredients in the proofs is to realise $S_\Gamma$ inside a period domain for polarised integral variations of Hodge structures and interpret totally geodesic subvarieties as unlikely intersections.

Abstract:It is proved that every Bézout domain admits an embedding into an elementary divisor domain with the same divisibility group. So the prime spectrum of a Bézout domain is homeomorphic to the prime spectrum of an elementary divisor domain. Together with an earlier result, it follows that a topological space is homeomorphic to the maximal spectrum of an elementary divisor domain if and only if it is a serial quasi-compact -space.

Spectral Theory in a Twisted Groupoid Setting: Spectral Decompositions, Localization and Fredholmness

Abstract:We study bounded operators defined in terms of the regular representations of the $C^*$-algebra of an amenable, Hausdorff, second countable locally compact groupoid endowed with a continuous $2$-cocycle. We concentrate on spectral quantities associated to natural quotients of this twisted algebra, such as the essential spectrum, the essential numerical range, and Fredholm properties. We obtain decompositions for the regular representations associated to units of the groupoid belonging to a free locally closed orbit, in terms of spectral quantities attached to points (or orbits) in the boundary of this main orbit. As examples, we discuss various classes of magnetic pseudo-differential operators on nilpotent groups. We also prove localization and non-propagation properties associated to suitable parts of the essential spectrum. These are applied to twisted groupoids having a totally intransitive groupoid restriction at the boundary.

Abstract:In the paper we investigate the joint spectra of Banach space representations of the quantum q-plane called Banach q-modules. Based on the transversality relation from the topological homology of the trivial modules versus given a left Banach q-module, we introduce the joint (essential) spectra of a Banach q-module. In particular, we have the well defined Taylor joint spectrum of a Banach q-module. The noncommutative projection q-property is proved for the Taylor spectrum, which stands out the conventional projection property in the commutative case. It is provided the key examples of the Banach q-modules, which do not possesses nether forward nor backward projection properties.
