Abstract:In this note, we will show a new proof of the classical Calderón-Zygmund estimates established in [7] 1952. The estimates are among the fundamental estimates for elliptic equations. Parabolic equations are also considered.

Abstract:We derive interior curvature bounds for admissible solutions of a class of curvature equations subject to affine Dirichlet data, generalizing a well-known estimate of Pogorelov for equations of Monge-Ampere type. For equations for which convexity of the solution is the natural ellipticity assumption, the curvature bound is proved for solutions with C-1,C-1 Dirichlet data. We also use the curvature bounds to improve and extend various existence results for the Dirichlet and Plateau problems.

Abstract:Concerned with elliptic operators with stationary random coefficients governed by linear or nonlinear mixing conditions and bounded (or unbounded) $C^1$ domains, this paper mainly studies (weighted) annealed Calderón-Zygmund estimates, some of which are new even in a periodic setting. Stronger than some classical results derived by a perturbation argument in the deterministic case, our results own a scaling-invariant property, which additionally requires the non-perturbation method (based upon a quantitative homogenization theory and a set of functional analysis techniques) recently developed by M. Joisen and F. Otto \cite{Josien-Otto22}. To handle boundary estimates in certain UMD (unconditional martingale differences) spaces, we hand them over to Shen's real arguments \cite{Shen05, Shen23} instead of using Mikhlin's theorem. As a by-product, we also established ``resolvent estimates''. The potentially attractive part is to show how the two powerful kernel-free methods work together to make the results clean and robust.

Abstract:Concerned with elliptic operator with stationary random coefficients of integrable correlations and bounded Lipschitz domains, arising from stochastic homogenization theory, this paper is mainly devoted to studying Calder\'on-Zygmund estimates. As an application, we obtain the homogenization error in the sense of oscillation and fluctuation, and these results are optimal up to a quantity $O(\ln(1/\varepsilon))$, which is coming from the quantified sublinearity of correctors in dimension two and less smoothness of the boundary of the domain. The main scheme relies on (weighted) annealed Calder\'on-Zygmund estimates, which was recently developed by Josien and Otto \cite{Josien-Otto22} via a robust non-perturbative argument, independent of the quenched Calder\'on-Zygmund estimate that originally developed by Armstrong and Daniel \cite{Armstrong-Daniel16} and Gloria, Neukamm and Otto \cite{Gloria-Neukamm-Otto20}. Enlightened by Duerinckx and Otto's job \cite{Duerinckx-Otto20}, the main innovation of the present work is to apply Shen's real arguments (of weighted version) to study elliptic systems with Dirichlet or Neumann boundary conditions. We start from a qualitative description of homogenization theorem in a local way (without using boundary correctors), and find a new form of \emph{minimal radius}, which proved to be a suitable key to open quantitative homogenization on the boundary value problems, if adopting Gloria-Neukamm-Otto's strategy that originally inspired by Naddaf and Spencer's pioneering work.
Calderón-Zygmund type estimate for the parabolic double-phase system

Abstract:This paper provides a local and global Calderón-Zygmund type estimate of a weak solution to the parabolic double-phase system. The proof of local estimate is based on comparison estimates and the scaling invariant property of the parabolic double-phase system in the intrinsic cylinders of the stopping time argument setting. For the proof of the global estimate, we have applied the reflection and approximation techniques.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider a kind of singular integral which can be viewed as an extension of the classical Calderon-Zygmund type singular integral. We establish an estimate of the singular integral in the L-q space for 1 < q < infinity. In particular, the Calderon-Zygmund estimate can be recovered from our obtained estimate. The proof of our main result is via the so called "geometric approach", which was applied in [1] on the L-q estimate of the elliptic equations and in [3,5] on a new proof of the Calderon-Zygmund estimate. Abstract:Let $G = N \rtimes A$, where $N$ is a stratified Lie group and $A= \mathbb R_+$ acts on $N$ via automorphic dilations. We prove that the group $G$ has the Calderón-Zygmund property, in the sense of Hebisch and Steger, with respect to a family of flow measures and metrics. This generalizes in various directions previous works by Hebisch and Steger and Martini, Ottazzi and Vallarino, and provides a new approach in the development of Calderón-Zygmund theory in Lie groups of exponential growth. We also prove a weak type $(1,1)$ estimate for the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator naturally arising in this setting.

Abstract:We give sharp C^2,α estimates for solutions of some fully nonlinear elliptic and parabolic equations in complex geometry and almost complex geometry, assuming a bound on the Laplacian of the solution. We also prove the analogous results to complex Monge–Ampère equations with conical singularities. As an application, we obtain a local estimate for Calabi–Yau equation in almost complex geometry. We also improve the C^2,α regularities and estimates for viscosity solutions to some uniformly elliptic and parabolic equations. All our results are optimal regarding the Hölder exponent.

Abstract:By using some deep tools from microlocal analysis, the authors of the papers (Ann. of Math., 165 (2007), 567--591, J. Amer. Math. Soc., 23 (2010), 655--691; Invent. Math., 178 (2009), 119--171; Duke Math. J., 158(2011), 83--120) have successfully established various Carleman estimates for elliptic operators that possess limiting Carleman weight. In this study, we revisit these problems and present a unified and fundamental approach for deriving these estimates. The main tool we employ is an elementary pointwise estimate for second-order elliptic operators.

Abstract:In the paper by Klainerman, Rodnianski and Tao [7], they give a physical space proof to a classical result of Klainerman and Machedon [3] for the bilinear space-time estimates of null forms. In this paper, we shall give an alternative and very simple physical space proof of the same bilinear estimates by applying div-curl type lemma of Zhou [14] and Wang and Zhou [12, 13]. We have only attained the limited goal of proving the bilinear estimates for the dyadic piece of the solution. Summing up the dyadic parts leads to the bilinear estimates with a Besov loss. As far as we know, the later development of wave maps [1, 2, 8–11], and the proof of bounded curvature theorem [5, 6] rely on basic ideas of Klainerman and Machedon [3] as well as Klainerman, Rodnianski and Tao [7].

Abstract:In this paper, we focus on the analysis of discrete versions of the Calderon problem with partial boundary data in dimension d >= 3. In particular, we establish logarithmic stability estimates for the discrete Calderon problem on an arbitrarily small portion of the boundary under suitable a priori bounds. For this end, we will use CGO solutions and derive a new discrete Carleman estimate and a key unique continuation estimate. Unlike the continuous case, we use a new strategy inspired by [32] to prove the key discrete unique continuation estimate by utilizing the new Carleman estimate with boundary observations for a discrete Laplace operator.

As in the classical T 1 theory, the conditions are given in terms of the smoothness of the operator kernel, and the action of both the operator and its adjoint on the function 1. To show membership to the Schatten class when we develop new bump estimates for composed Calderón–Zygmund operators, and a new extension of Carleson's Embedding Theorem.

Abstract:Consider the solutions $u$ to the elliptic equation $\mathcal{L}(u) = \partial_i(a^{ij}(x) \partial_j u) + b^i(x) \partial_i u + c(x) u= 0$ with $a^{ij}$ assumed only to be Hölder continuous. In this paper we prove an explicit bound for $(n-2)$-dimensional Minkowski estimates of singular set $\mathcal{S}(u) = \{ x \in B_1 : u(x) = |\nabla u(x)| = 0\}$ and critical set $\mathcal{C}(u) \equiv \{ x\in B_{1} : |\nabla u(x)| = 0 \}$ in terms of the bound on doubling index, depending on $c \equiv 0$ or not. Here the Hölder assumption is sharp as it is the weakest condition in order to define the critical set of $u$ according to elliptic estimates. We can also obtain an optimal improvement on Cheeger-Naber-Valtorta's volume estimates on each quantitative stratum $\mathcal{S}^k_{\eta, r}$. The main difficulty in this situation is the lack of monotonicity formula which is essential to the quantitative stratification. In our proof, one key ingredient is a new almost monotonicity formula for doubling index under the Hölder assumption. Another key ingredient is the quantitative uniqueness of tangent maps. It deserves to note that our almost monotonicity is sufficient to address all the difficulties arising from the absence of monotonicity in the analysis of differential equations. We believe the idea could be applied to other relevant study.

Abstract:We derive an a priori real Hessian estimate for solutions of a large family of geometric fully non-linear elliptic equations on compact Hermitian manifolds, which is independent of a lower bound for the right-hand side function. This improves on the estimates of Székelyhidi [57] and additionally applies to elliptic equations with a degenerate right-hand side. As an application, we establish the optimal C1,1 regularity of envelopes of (θ,m)-subharmonic functions on compact Hermitian manifolds.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the elliptic equation $-\text{div} (A_\varepsilon \nabla u_\varepsilon) = \text{div} f$ in a bounded $C^1$ domain, where $A_\varepsilon$ takes a form of $A_\varepsilon(x) = A(x/\varepsilon_1, x/\varepsilon_2,\cdots, x/\varepsilon_n)$, with $A(y_1,y_2,\cdots,y_n)$ being 1-periodic in each $y_i$. We prove the uniform Calderón-Zygmund estimate, namely, the uniform $L^p$ boundedness of the linear map $f\mapsto \nabla u_\varepsilon$ for any $p\in (1,\infty)$ with a constant independent of small parameters $(\varepsilon_1,\varepsilon_2,\cdots, \varepsilon_n) \in (0,1]^n$. Our result includes the uniform Calderón-Zygmund estimate in quasiperiodic elliptic homogenization (even without the Diophantine condition), which was previously unknown. The proof novelly combines the Dirichlet's theorem on the simultaneous Diophantine approximation from number theory, a technique of reperiodization, reiterated periodic homogenization and a large-scale real-variable argument. Using the idea of reperiodization, we also obtain some large-scale or mesoscopic-scale Lipschitz estimates.
