Abstract:In the framework of the color-magnetic interaction, we systematically investigate the mass spectrum of the tetraquark states composed of four heavy quarks with the QQ(Q)over-bar(Q)over-bar configuration in this work. We also show their strong decay patterns. Stable or narrow states in the bb(b)over-bar(c)over-bar and bc(b)over-bar(c)over-bar systems are found to be possible. We hope the studies shall be helpful to the experimental search for heavy-full exotic tetraquark states.

Abstract:In the framework of the color-magnetic interaction, we systematically investigate the mass splittings of the $QQ\bar{Q}\bar{q}$ tetraquark states and estimate their rough masses in this work. These systems include the explicitly exotic states $cc\bar{b}\bar{q}$ and $bb\bar{c}\bar{q}$ and the hidden exotic states $cc\bar{c}\bar{q}$, $cb\bar{b}\bar{q}$, $bc\bar{c}\bar{q}$, and $bb\bar{b}\bar{q}$. If a state around the estimated mass region can be observed, its nature as a genuine tetraquark is favored. The strong decay patterns shown here will be helpful to the experimental search for these exotic states.
Systematics of Fully Heavy Tetraquarks

Abstract:In this work, we systematically study the mass spectrum of the fully heavy tetraquark in an extended chromomagnetic model, which includes both color and chromomagnetic interactions. Numerical results indicate that the energy level is mainly determined by the color interaction, which favors the color-sextet vertical bar(QQ)(6)(c)((Q) over bar(Q) over bar)((6) over barc)> configuration over the color-triplet vertical bar(QQ)((3))over bar (c)((Q) over bar(Q) over bar)(3c)> one. The chromomagnetic interaction mixes the two color configurations and gives small splitting. The ground state is always dominated by the color-sextet configuration. We find no stable state below the lowest heavy quarkonium pair thresholds. Most states may be wide since they have at least one S-wave decay channel into two S-wave mesons. One possible narrow state is the 1+ bb (b) over bar(c ) over bar state with a mass 15719.1 MeV. It is just above the eta(b)(B) over bar (c) threshold. But this channel is forbidden because of the conservation of the angular momentum and parity.
Triply Heavy QQQ¯q¯ Tetraquark States

Abstract:Within the framework of QCD sum rules, we have investigated the tetraquark states with three heavy quarks. We systematically construct the interpolating currents for the possible cc (c) over bar(q) over bar, cc (b) over bar(q) over bar, bc (b) over bar(q) over bar, bb (b) over bar(q) over bar tetraquark states with quantum numbers J(P) = 0(+) and J(P) = 1(+). Using these interpolating currents, we have calculated the two-point correlation functions and extracted the mass spectra for the above tetraquark states. We also discuss the decay patterns of these tetraquarks, and notice that the cc (c) over bar(q) over bar, cc (b) over bar(q) over bar, bc (b) over bar(q) over bar may decay quickly with a narrow width due to their mass spectra. The bb (b) over bar(q) over bar tetraquarks are expected to be very narrow resonances since their OZI (Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka)-allowed decay modes are kinematically forbidden. These states may be searched for in the final states with a B meson plus a light meson or photon.
Mass spectra of hidden heavy-flavor tetraquarks with two and four heavy quarks

Abstract:Inspired by the observation of the $X(6900)$ by LHCb and the $X(6600)$ (with mass $6552\pm 10$ $\pm 12$ MeV) recently by CMS and ATLAS experiments of the LHC in the di-$J/\Psi $ invariant mass spectrum, we systemically study masses of all ground-state configurations of the hidden heavy-flavor tetraquarks $q_{1}Q_{2}\bar{q}_{3}\bar{Q}_{4}$ and $Q_{1}Q_{2}\bar{Q}_{3}\bar{Q}_{4}$ ($Q=c,b$;$q=u,d,s$) contaning two and four heavy quarks in the MIT bag model with chromomagnetic interaction and enhanced binding energy. Considering color-spin mixing due to chromomagnetic interaction, our mass computation indicates that the observed $X(6600)$ is likely to be the $0^{++}$ ground states of hidden-charm tetraquark $cc\bar{c}\bar{c}$ with computed masses $6572$ MeV, which has a $0^{++}$ color partner around $6469$ MeV. The fully bottom system of tetraquark $bb\bar{b}\bar{b}$ has masses of 19685 MeV and 19717 MeV for the the $0^{++}$ ground states. Further computation is given to the tetraquark systems $sc\bar{s}\bar{c}$, $sb\bar{s}\bar{b}$, $cb\bar{c}\bar{b}$, $nc\bar{n}\bar{c}$ and $nb\bar{n}\bar{b}$, suggesting that the $Z_{c}(4200)$ is the tetraquark $nc\bar{n}\bar{c}$ with $J^{PC}=1^{+-}$. All of these tetraquarks are above their lowest thresholds of two mesons and unstable against the strong decays.

Abstract:In this work, we study systematically the mass splittings of the $qq\bar{Q}\bar{Q}$ ($q=u$, d, s and $Q=c$, b) tetraquark states with the color-magnetic interaction by considering color mixing effects and estimate roughly their masses. Possible decay patterns of the tetraquarks are briefly discussed.

Abstract:In this work, we systematically calculate the mass spectra of the $S$-wave fully heavy tetraquark states $bb\bar b\bar b$, $cc\bar c\bar c$, and $bb\bar c\bar c$ in two nonrelativistic quark models. A tetraquark state may be an admixture of a $6_c-\bar 6_c$ state and a $\bar 3_c-3_c$ one, where $6_c-\bar 6_c$($\bar 3_c-3_c$) denotes the color configuration with a $6_c$ ($\bar 3_c$) diquark and a $\bar 6_c$ ($3_c$) antidiquark. For the tetraquark states $bb\bar b\bar b$ and $cc\bar c\bar c$ with $J^{PC}={0^{++}}$, the $6_c-\bar 6_c$ state is lower than the $\bar 3_c-3_c$ one in both the two quark models, while the order of the $bb\bar c\bar c$ states depend on models. The $6_c-\bar 6_c$ and $\bar 3_c-3_c$ mixing effects are induced by the hyperfine interactions between the diquark and antidiquark, while the contributions from the one-gluon-exchange (OGE) Coulomb or the linear confinement potentials vanish for the $QQ\bar Q'\bar Q'$ system. With the couple-channel effects, we obtain the similar mass spectra. The numerical results show that the ground $QQ\bar Q'\bar Q'$ ($Q=b,c$ and $Q'=b,c$) tetraquark states are located above the corresponding scattering states, which indicates that there may not exist a bound state in the scheme of the two quark models.

Abstract:Many of the XY Z resonances observed by the Belle, Babar, CLEO and BESIII collaborations in the past decade are difficult to interpret as conventional quark-antiquark mesons, motivating the consideration of scenarios such as multi-quark states, meson molecules, and hybrids. After a brief introduction to QCD sum-rule methods, we provide a brief but comprehensive review of the mass spectra of the quarkonium-like tetraquark states qQ (q) over bar(Q) over bar, doubly charmed/bottomed tetraquark states QQ (q) over bar(q) over bar and the heavy quarkonium hybrid states QGQ in the QCD sum rules approach. Possible interpretations of the XY Z resonances are briefly discussed.

Abstract:The compact tetraquark states with fully heavy quark contents QQQ¯Q¯ are studied as the bound states of the diquark-antidiquark within the Bethe-Salpeter framework. The (anti)diquark masses and form factors used are the same as we calculated the doubly heavy baryons in a previous work. Under the instantaneous approximation, the three-dimensional (Bethe-)Salpeter equation of the tetraquarks is derived and solved numerically to obtain the corresponding mass spectra and wave functions of the tetraquarks with JPC=0++, 1+-, and 2++. Our results show that the three ground states of ccc¯c¯ locate in the mass range of 6.4–6.5 GeV, and the bbb¯b¯ states in mass range of 19.2–19.3 GeV. The obtained relativistic wave functions naturally include the mixing effects from the possible D (or G) partial waves, and then can be further used to do precise calculations of the tetraquark decays. Based on the obtained results, the LHCb’s observation X(6900) is less likely to be the ground states of compact ccc¯c¯ tetraquarks but might be the first or second excited states. In addition, a widely used propagatorlike form factor is also investigated and discussed.

Doubly heavy tetraquarks: heavy quark bindings and chromomagnetically mixings

Abstract:We introduce an enhanced binding energy $B_{QQ}$ between heavy-heavy quarks $QQ$ and a flux-tube correction into the chromomagnetic interaction model to study nonstrange doubly-heavy tetraquarks $T_{QQ}$ ($Q=c,b)$. A simple relation in terms of baryon masses is proposed to estimate the binding energies $B_{QQ}$ and thereby map the flux-tube corrections in doubly-heavy tetraquarks $T_{cc}$, $T_{bb}$ and $T_{bc}$. Our computation via diagonalization of chromomagnetic interaction predicts the doubly charmed tetraquark $T_{cc}$ (in color rep. $\bar{3}_{c}\otimes 3_{c}$) and $T_{cc}^{\ast }$ (in $6_{c}\otimes \bar{6}_{c}$) with $IJ^{P}=01^{+}$ to have masses of $3879.2$ MeV and $4287.6$ MeV, respectively, with the former being in consistent with the measured mass $3874.7\pm 0.05$ MeV of the doubly charmed tetraquark $T_{cc}(1^{+})=cc\bar{u}\bar{d}$ discovered by LHCb. Further mass predictions are given of the doubly bottom tetraquarks $T_{bb}$ and the bottom-charmed tetraquarks $T_{bc}$ with $J^{P}=0^{+},1^{+},2^{+}$ and $I=0,1$. A chromomagnetical mixing between the color configurations $\bar{3}_{c}\otimes 3_{c}$ and $6_{c}\otimes \bar{6}_{c}$ is noted for the bottom-charmed states $T_{bc}$ with $IJ^{P}=01^{+}$ and $IJ^{P}=1(0^{+},1^{+})$.

Abstract:In this paper, we adopt an extended relativized quark model to investigate the triply-heavy tetraquarks systematically. The mass spectra are obtained by solving the four-body relativized Hamiltonian including the Coulomb potential, confining potential, spin-spin interactions, and relativistic corrections. We find that all of the triply-heavy tetraquarks lie above the corresponding meson-meson thresholds, and thus no stable one exists. In particular, besides the spin-spin interactions, the Coulomb and confining potentials also contribute to the mass splittings in the cbc¯q¯ and cbb¯q¯ systems. Moreover, the whole mass spectra for triply heavy tetraquarks show quite similar patterns, which preserve the light flavor SU(3) symmetry and heavy quark symmetry well. Through the fall-apart mechanism, the triply-heavy tetraquarks may easily decay into the heavy quarkonium plus heavy-light mesons, which are good candidates for investigation in future experiments.

Abstract:We provide comprehensive investigations for the mass spectrum of exotic open-flavor charmed/bottom $sq\bar q\bar c$, $qq\bar q\bar c$, $sq\bar q\bar b$, $qq\bar q\bar b$ tetraquark states with various spin-parity assignments $J^P=0^+, 1^+, 2^+$ and $0^-, 1^-$ in the framework of QCD sum rules. In the diquark configuration, we construct the diquark-antidiquark interpolating tetraquark currents using the color-antisymmetric scalar and axial-vector diquark fields. The stable mass sum rules are established in reasonable parameter working ranges, which are used to give reliable mass predictions for these tetraquark states. We obtain the mass spectra for the open-flavor charmed/bottom $sq\bar q\bar c$, $qq\bar q\bar c$, $sq\bar q\bar b$, $qq\bar q\bar b$ tetraquark states with various spin-parity quantum numbers. In addition, we suggest searching for exotic doubly-charged tetraquarks, such as $[sd][\bar u\bar c]\to D_s^{(\ast)-}\pi^-$ in future experiments at facilities such as BESIII, BelleII, PANDA, LHCb and CMS, etc.

Mass Spectra of Full-Heavy and Double-Heavy Tetraquark States in the Conventional Quark Model

Abstract:A comprehensive study of the $S$-wave heavy tetraquark states with identical quarks and antiquarks, specifically $QQ{\bar Q'}\bar Q'$ ($Q, Q'=c,b$), $QQ\bar s\bar s$/$\bar Q\bar Q ss$, and $QQ\bar q\bar q$/$\bar Q\bar Q qq$ ($q=u,d$), are studied in a unified constituent quark model. This model contains the one-gluon exchange and confinement potentials. The latter is modeled as the sum of all two-body linear potentials. We employ the Gaussian expansion method to solve the full four-body Schrödinger equations, and search bound and resonant states using the complex-scaling method. We then identify $3$ bound and $62$ resonant states. The bound states are all $QQ\bar q\bar q$ states with the isospin and spin-parity quantum numbers $I(J^P)=0(1^+)$: two bound $bb\bar{q}\bar{q}$ states with the binding energies, 153 MeV and 4 MeV below the $BB^*$ threshold, and a shallow $cc\bar{q}\bar{q}$ state at $-15$ MeV from the $DD^*$ threshold. The deeper $bb\bar q \bar q$ bound state aligns with the lattice QCD predictions, while $cc\bar q\bar q$ bound state, still has a much larger binding energy than the recently observed $T^+_{cc}$ by LHCb collaboration. No bound states are identified for the $QQ\bar Q'\bar Q'$, $QQ\bar s\bar s$ and $QQ\bar q\bar q$ with $I=1$. Our analysis shows that the bound $QQ\bar Q'\bar Q'$ states are more probable with a larger mass ratio, $m_Q/m_{Q'}$. Experimental investigation for these states is desired, which will enrich our understanding of hadron spectroscopy and probe insights into the confinement mechanisms within tetraquarks.

Abstract:In the present work, the mass spectra of doubly heavy tetraquarks TQQ′ are systematically investigated in a relativized quark model. The four-body systems including the Coulomb potential, confining potential, spin-spin interactions, and relativistic corrections are solved within the variational method. Our results suggest that the IJP=01+ bbu¯d¯ state is 54 MeV below the relevant B¯B¯* thresholds, which indicates that both strong and electromagnetic decays are forbidden, and thus this state can be a stable one. Its large hidden color component and small root mean square radius demonstrate that it is a compact tetraquark rather than a loosely bound molecule or pointlike diquark-antidiquark structure. Our predictions of the doubly heavy tetraquarks may provide valuable information for future experimental searches.

Potential Model Prediction of Fully-Heavy Tetraquarks $qq\bar{q}\bar{q}$ ($q=c, B$)

Abstract:The fully-heavy tetraquark states $QQ\bar{Q}\bar{Q}$ ($Q=c, b$) are systematically investigated by means of a nonrelativistic potential model. The model is based on the lattice QCD study of the two-body $Q\bar{Q}$ interaction, which exhibits a spin-independent Cornell potential along with a spin-spin interaction. The four-body problem is implemented with a highly accurate computational approach, the Gaussian expansion method. The complex scaling method is also employed so that the bound, resonance, and scattering states can be treated on the same footing. Complete set of the four-body configurations, including meson-meson, diquark-antidiquark, and K-type configurations, as well as their couplings, are considered for spin-parity quantum numbers $J^{PC}=0^{++}$, $1^{+-}$, and $2^{++}$ in the $S$-wave channel. No $S$-wave bound state is found either in the fully-charm tetraquark system or in the fully-bottom one. However, several narrow resonances, with widths less than 10 MeV in two-meson strong decay, are found in both of these two systems. For the fully-charm case, the recently reported resonance structures between 6.2 and 7.2 GeV in the di-$J/ψ$ invariant spectrum by the LHCb collaboration, can be well identified in our calculation. For the fully-bottom case, resonances with masses between 18.9 and 19.6 GeV are found. The predicted resonances can be further examined in future experiments.
Exploring fully heavy scalar tetraquarks $QQ\overline{Q}\overline{Q}$

Abstract:The masses, current couplings and widths of the fully heavy scalar tetraquarks $X_{\mathrm{4Q}}=QQ\overline{Q}\overline{Q}$, $Q=c, b$ are calculated by modeling them as four-quark systems composed of axial-vector diquark and antidiquark. The masses $m^{(\prime)}$ and couplings $ f^{(\prime)}$ of these tetraquarks are computed in the context of the QCD sum rule method by taking into account a nonperturbative term proportional to the gluon condensate $\langle \alpha _{s}G^{2}/ \pi \rangle$. Results $ m=(6570 \pm 55)~\mathrm{MeV}$ and $m^{\prime}=(18540 \pm 50)~\mathrm{MeV}$ are used to fix kinematically allowed hidden-flavor decay channels of these states. It turns out that, the processes $X_{\mathrm{4c}}\rightarrow J/\psi J/\psi $, $X_{\mathrm{4c}}\rightarrow \eta _{c}\eta _{c}$, and $X_{\mathrm{4c }}\rightarrow \eta _{c}\chi _{c1}(1P)$ are possible decay modes of $X_{ \mathrm{4c}}$. The partial widths of these channels are evaluated by means of the couplings $g_{i}, i=1,2,3$ which describe strong interactions of tetraquark $X_{\mathrm{4c}}$ and mesons at relevant vertices. The couplings $ g_{i}$ are extracted from the QCD three-point sum rules by extrapolating corresponding form factors $g_{i}(Q^2) $ to the mass-shell of a final meson. The mass of the scalar tetraquark $X_{\mathrm{4b}}$ is below the $\eta_b \eta_b$ and $\Upsilon(1S)\Upsilon(1S)$ thresholds, therefore it does not fall apart to these bottomonia, but transforms to conventional particles through other mechanisms. Comparing $m=(6570 \pm 55)~\mathrm{MeV}$ and $ \Gamma _{\mathrm{4c}}=(110 \pm 21)~\mathrm{MeV}$ with parameters of structures observed by the LHCb, ATLAS and CMS collaborations, we interpret $ X_{4c}$ as the resonance $X(6600)$ reported by CMS. Comparisons are made with other theoretical predictions.

Abstract:In this work, we evaluate the mass spectra of the prospective hidden-charm and hidden-bottom tetraquark states in molecular configuration via QCD sum rules. In our calculation, the nonperturbative condensate contributions up to dimension eight in operator product expansion are considered. It is found that there might exist 4 possible hidden-charm tetraquark states with masses , , , and GeV, respectively. Their corresponding hidden-bottom partners are found lying respectively at , , , and GeV. The possible tetraquark decay modes are analyzed, which are hopefully measurable in BESIII, BELLEII, and LHCb experiments.
