Current Application Research on the Adsorbents and Their Development Tendency

Abstract:As one of the common wastewater treatment processes,adsorption has such advantages as wide application,high efficiency,recovery of useful substances and repetitive-use of adsorbents etc. Therefore,the improvement of the adsorbents performances and preparation of new adsorbents endow the adsorption process a more extensive application prospect. In this review,an extensive list of adsorbent literatures has been compiled to provide a summary of available information on the adsorbent species,e.g.,activated carbon,adsorption resin; modified starch adsorbent,modified cellulose adsorbent,modified lignin adsorbent,modified chitosan adsorbent and other adsorbents that could adsorb pollutants,as well as their application studies. And,the development tendencies of the adsorbents were also discussed here.
