Discussion on Teaching of ＂Reader-Writer＂ Problem in Operating System

Abstract:Operating System course have some characteristics of multi-concept,confused algorithm,which makes it difficult for students to understand and master the course.To resolve the problem,analogy,stratified dissection and evolutionary teaching methods are introduced into the Operating System course.The application of these teaching methods is illustrated by taking producer-consumer problem as an example and make some explanation about the concept and algorithm by heuristics and stratified dissection.To make students comprehend the problem of course＇s synchronization and mutex profoundly,various teaching methods are combined.The teaching practice shows good effect.
