An Analysis of Collective Corruption: A Perspective of Human Relations

Abstract:It is of great significance to observe the phenomenon of collective bribery from the perspective of human relations.Chinese traditional human relations have unique localized features which,while still playing a role in present political life,have become an important fact that stimulates collective corruption.Officialdom's high frequency of and the corruption iron-triangle are two theories adopted by scholars to explain the occurrence of collective bribery.However,viewing from the perspective of human relations,one can readily find two points: 1) supervision can hardly be exercised over the crime,and 2) the dark figure of the crime high.Accordingly,two measures should be taken to prevent collective corruption: to encourage people to charge with the crime through network and to make the penalty severer so as to increase the cost of the commission.
