Intersubjectivity and Intermetaphoricity Involved in Metaphor Interpretation

Abstract:There exists intersubjectivity between the addressee and the addresser in the process of metaphor interpretation, which guarantees the realization of intermetaphoricity. What is important here is that only when intermetaphoricity is fulfilled, can a metaphor be successfully understood. The main idea held in this research is that the existence of intersubjectivity is a necessary condition for the realization of intermetaphoricity which in turn is the ultimate goal of the existence of intersubjectivity.
