Abstract:Objective Evaluate the drug-use state which was infected by the adjustments of medicine price's evaluation methods in Campus hospital of Zhejiang University,objective to provide evidence based strategies on guiding reasonable clinical medication and the drug manufacturing and trade system.maintenance.Methods The consumption of medicine in terms of quantity and amount of money in our hospital during 2007～2008 was investigated.The date was analyzed using DDDs sequence analytical methods.Results In 2008,the money of collecting medicine increased by 26.78 percent but the retail sales only increased by 19.75 percent,over 2007.No significant changes were found in medicine using.Conclusion The bubble price of medicine and the burden on patients could be reduced by the adjustments of medicine price's evaluation methods.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To provide theoretic support for medicine affordability evaluation in China by studying medicine af-fordability evaluation methods. METHODS:Through introducing the concept and evaluation methods of affordability,the evalua-tion steps of“catastrophic expenditure”and“medicine affordability”in medicine affordability evaluation methods were interpreted systematically. RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS:The catastrophic expenditure and impoverishing effect methods can measure med-icine affordability,but they both have limitations. Catastrophic expenditure evaluation method cannot measure the consequences of a catastrophic expenditure to the family,and ignore the reduction of family income after the occurrence of diseases. Impoverishing effect evaluation method cannot pay attention to originally poor population. These two evaluation methods complement each other, and can more objectively reflect the ability of patients bearing medical expenses,which can provide scientific references for poli-cies of enhancing medicine pricing and reimbursement system.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To explore the application of path analysis in pharmacoeconomics.METHODS:The data in clinical trial were fitted by path analysis model.The influencing factors and their relationships were revealed by parameter estimation in the model,and then the pharmacoeconomics was evaluated.RESULTS:The relationship of therapeutic regimen,therapeutic effectiveness and hospitalization cost were reflected by the path analysis model quantitatively and objectively.The goodness of fit index(GFI)of the model was 0.943 2,and the adjustive goodness of fit index(AGFI)was 0.858 1,which proclaiming that the fitting of the model was good.CONCLUSION:Pharmacoeconomics evaluation might be conducted effectively through path analysis.

Abstract:This paper collected treatment cost and effectiveness data of Chinese medicine or western medicine in treatment of the same disease in grassroots medical institutions through retrospective study.Cost-effectiveness analysis was used to analyze treatment costs for the patients who were treated by Chinese medicine or western medicine with same treatment effectiveness.Chinese medicine service was cheap,which was proven by empirical research.Therefore,it was suggested to promote the utilization of Chinese medicine in grassroots medical institutions.

Abstract:Objectives: This study was aimed to find and appraise the available published pharmacoeconomic research on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), to identify related issues and make suggestions for improvement in future research. Methods: After developing a search strategy and establishing inclusion and exclusion criteria, pharmacoeconomic studies on TCM were sourced from seven Chinese and English databases from inception to April 2020. Basic information about the studies and key pharmacoeconomic items of each study were extracted. The quality of each study was evaluated by using the British Medical Journal economic submissions checklist for authors and peer reviewers, focusing on factors such as study design, research time horizon, sample size, perspective, and evaluation methods. Results: A total of 431 published pharmacoeconomic articles with 434 studies on topics including cost-effectiveness, cost-benefit, cost-minimization, cost-utility, or combination analyses were identified and included in this review. Of these, 424 were published in Chinese and 7 in English. These studies conducted economic evaluations of 264 Chinese patent medicines and 70 types of TCM prescriptions for 143 diseases, including those of the central nervous, cardiovascular, respiratory, gynecologyical, and other systems. The studied TCMs included blood-activating agents (such as Xuesaitong tablet, Fufant Danshen tablet, and Danhong Injection), blood circulation promoting agents (such as Shuxuetong injection, Rupixiao tablet, and Fufang Danshen injection), and other therapeutic agents. The overall quality score of the studies was 0.62 (range 0.38 to 0.85). The mean quality score of studies in English was 0.72, which was higher than that of studies in Chinese with 0.62. Conclusions: The quality of pharmacoeconomic studies on TCM was relatively, generally low. Major concerns included study design, inappropriate pharmacoeconomic evaluation, insufficient sample size, or non-scientific assessment. Enhanced methodological training and cooperation, the development of a targeted pharmacoeconomic evaluation guideline, and proposal of a reasonable health outcome index are warranted to improve quality of future studies.

Abstract:Objective To measure quantitatively the health costs of 380 farmer families using the pesticides and influence factors,and to provide the base for establishing the protective measures.Methods Based on the surveyed data of rice producers in Anhui province,a quantitative analysis of health cost of pesticide application was conducted with COI,the influence factors on farmers' pesticide application have been examined.Results The results shown that the health cost of pesticide application was as RMB 54.44 yuans per farmer a year.The influence factors of health cost were the amount and time of pesticide application,protective facilities,pesticide label illiteracy,age,gender and education level of farmers.Conclusion The measures of reducing the health cost for pesticide application were to train the farmers for knowledge of pesticide application and occupational safety,to provide convenient and cheap protective equipment and instructions of pesticide application and to standardize pesticide labels.

The paper gives a detailed analysis of the causes of the problem, which can be attributed both to the field of production and the process of consumption. Abstract:Objective To work out rational criteria for the control of expenses for different disease entities so as to strengthen the control of medical quality. Methods A study was made of the medical records of all the patients discharged from a certain hospital throughout 1999 and a multilevel analysis was conducted of 667 disease entities, 1 518 disease types and 26 668 medical records via feasibility tests on the division of cases into various types, normal distribution tests and choice of standard statistical methods. Results The experimental study indicates that due to factors like differences in the conditions of the patients, the average length of stay and medical expenses for diseases of the same entity are both of skew distribution. Discussion Comparison of the two methods of the arithmetic mean and the median shows that it is appropriate to use the median as the standard reference value and the upper and lower limits of controlling value for the control of medical quality and expenses for different disease entities.

Abstract:With the premise of drug safety and effectiveness, pharmacoeconomic evaluation can provide optimal solutions for diversified decision-making application scenarios from different research perspectives while maximizing the rational utilization of existing healthcare resources. Chinese patent medicine is an essential component of pharmaceutical utilization in China and a significant part of healthcare expenditure in China. However, the economic evaluation of post-marketing Chinese patent medicine is lacking. These evaluations often lack standardization, exhibit varying quality, and are unable to effectively support healthcare decisions, indicating a need for improvement in overall quality. Given this situation, this project has gathered leading experts from China and has strictly adhered to the requirements of the group standards set by the China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine in developing Guidelines for economic evaluation of post-marketing Chinese patent medicine, aiming to provide methodological guidance for the post-market pharmacoeconomic evaluation of Chinese patent medicine, enhancing the standardization of pharmacoeconomic evaluations of Chinese patent medicine and the scientific validity of research results, and thereby elevating the overall quality of pharmacoeconomic evaluations for post-marketing Chinese patent medicine. The guidelines adhere to the framework provided by relevant laws and regulations in China and technical guidance documents. It is based on guidance from traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) theories, focusing on the unique characteristics of TCM. It covers various aspects of pharmacoeconomic evaluation, including fundamental principles, research topic selection, research question definition, study design type selection, cost identification and measurement, health outcomes, and evaluation methods. The guidelines offer methodological recommendations and decision guidance to address common issues and challenges in the pharmacoeconomic evaluation of post-marketing Chinese patent medicine.

Abstract:More and more papers about pharmacoeconomics and outcome research were published in China. The aim of this study was to evaluate the quality of Chinese pharmacoeconomics study and outcome research through analyze papers published in the peer-reviewed literature in Chinese over the last five years. We conducted full-text paper searches in public databases from 2009 to 2013 in China. A search strategy and inclusion criteria were set up to identify the articles to be included. The search identified 820 studies, of which 411 were included. Then papers were evaluated through a framework which was based on Pharmacoeconomics guideline. Our results showed that a large number of published studies were of suboptimal quality. Most of pharmaceonomics and outcome research were conduct by doctors (33.6%) and pharmacists (54%) in China. Prospective studies (65.9%) were the most common study design, while most data were derived from the clinical trials; Only 8% of them included articles clearly stated the study perspective; More than half studies (56.2%) only computed drug expenditure in cost estimation; 2.2% of articles conducted discounting; 63.5% of studies performed the incremental analysis, however, most studies presented the cost-effectiveness ratios as incremental cost-effectiveness ratio; Sensitive analysis were reported by 71.3% of the included studies, nonetheless, the choice of variables for sensitivity analysis wasn’t justified; A few studies (7.3%) presented the transferability of the results. The above data signify that the quality of pharmacoeconomic evaluations needs improvement. There were just few studies which had well-designed schemes, high-qualified data and suitable methodology, partly owing to the doctors and pharmacists’ lack of pharmaceonomics expertise and knowledge. It implied China should improve the training of pharmaceonomics and outcome research training in doctors and pharmacists. Moreover, a further study of the new technology on pharmacoeconomy should not be neglected.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To provide ideas and references for further development and improvement of pharmacoeconomic research in China. METHODS:Bibliometric methods were employed to analyze foreign pharmacoeconomic literatures. RESULTS: Totally 3 894 pharmacoeconomic literatures were included,distributing in 996 journals and the core journals were Value in Health and Pharmacoeconomics. The researchers were mainly from North America and Europe. Most of these literatures belonged to quantitative research. The most common analysis tool was cost-effectiveness analysis (CEA). Medicines for common diseases and frequently-occurring disease or expensive medicines were mainly studied,and systemic or critical diseases were also researched. CON- CLUSIONS:Foreign pharmacoeconomic research can enlighten us and be used for reference in the aspects of research categories, analysis methods and research contents,etc.

Abstract:The purpose of single-disease paying is to promote the efficient use of health resource,exert its maximum social effect,improve the quality of health service,control the irrational rise in medical cost,reach the final goals of allocating the health resource more fairly and improving the health status of all Chinese citizens.The study finds that single-disease paying can not save medical resources and decrease medical cost effectively.Though single-disease paying plays a positive role in controling medical cost,efficient medicare system still needs to be researched.

Abstract:This article reports the recommendations of the Panel on Cost Effectiveness in Health and Medicine, sponsored by the US Public Health Service, on standardised methods for conducting cost-effectiveness analyses. Although not expressly directed at analyses of pharmaceutical agents, the Panel’s recommendations are relevant to pharmacoeconomic studies.The Panel outlines a ‘Reference Case’ set of methodological practices to improve quality and comparability of analyses. Designed for studies that inform resource-allocation decisions, the Reference Case includes recommendations for study framing and scope, components of the numerator and denominator of cost-effectiveness ratios, discounting, handling uncertainty and reporting.The Reference Case analysis is conducted from the societal perspective, and includes all effects of interventions on resource use and health. Resource use includes ‘time’ resources, such as for caregiving or undergoing an intervention. The quality-adjusted life-year (QALY) is the common measure of health effect across Reference Case studies. Although the Panel does not endorse a measure for obtaining quality-of-life weights, several recommendations address the QALY. The Panel recommends a 3% discount rate for costs and health effects.Pharmacoeconomic studies have burgeoned in recent years. The Reference Case analysis will improve study quality and usability, and permit comparison of pharmaceuticals with other health interventions.
