Abstract:Due to the continuous development of social and economic forms, most of the traditional handicraft forms of industry have been more challenged in the wave of development, and the world UNESCO and the Chinese government have made great efforts. In recent years, the state has promoted cultural confidence, encouraging people to re-focus on the spiritual connection with culture while satisfying their material needs. The trend of great attention to traditional culture and the continuous development of tourism have brought Pingyao lacquerware, a representative traditional handicraft, back to the public's attention. As one of the intangible cultural heritages, it is in urgent need of attention and protection due to the complexity of the craft and the difficulty of passing it on. Nowadays, the experience economy has become the trend of the times, and tourists are not only looking for material products or simple services but are also more and more concerned about their experience in travel activities. Therefore, it is essential to satisfy the personalized experience needs of tourists in the region of Pingyao regarding the lacquerware experience. Given this, this study takes Pingyao lacquerware as the object of research based on the theoretical background of experience design to explore new development paths for Pingyao lacquerware from the perspective of experience.

Abstract:Abstract The lacquerware of Liangshan Yi nationality was created by the Yi in their daily life. It has great varieties, exquisite productions and a very long history as the most representative handicraft in Yi region. The traditional manufacturing processes including body making and lacquering craft processes as well as the coming crisis of Yi lacquerware were analyzed in this work, in order to provide reference for the development and inheritance of the traditional lacquerware craft of Liangshan Yi Nationality.

Abstract:By using lacquer painting creation with realistic themes as an example, this essay will examine the primary issues with lacquer painting creation with realistic themes in the context of the modern period.It will summarize the key pathways and construction expansion choices for lacquer painting creation with realistic themes by analyzing the creative issues and traits of lacquer painting with realistic themes, and it will provide the future path perspective that may be supported.Modern lacquer paintings with realistic topics suffer from a loss of pictoriality, a weakening of pictoriality, and a lack of aesthetic merit. Lack of creative integrity and originality; little aesthetic effect; lack of a modern viewpoint or historical significance. It is clear that there is a “tendency to profit,” and commercialization results in repetition and homogenization. A few representative lacquer paintings and artworks have been examined by the author.By emphasizing the incorporation of styles from other forms of painting and increasing the lacquer painting’s creative expressive language, the author offers answers.The development of lacquer paintings with realistic subjects in the context of the new period is suggested as well as workable solutions.

Abstract:The development of lacquerwares reached its peak between the Warring States Period and the Han Dynasty (390-87 BC) in the Changsha region of China. By studying excavated fragments of lacquers from this period, this paper examines the constitution of various pigmented layers, such as red, black and white layers, coloured lacquer layers, namely reddish brown or reddish orange, dark-coloured or black, and silver lacquer layers, using non-destructive methods. In addition, the characteristics of lacquer production techniques in Changsha are also discussed in comparison with those of other regions in China during the same period of time.
The Mutual Effection about Han Dynasty Lacquer Ware and Han' Various Arts

Abstract:As an important cultural carrier of Han Dynasty, the craft and art level of lacquer ware reside the head of other handicraft industry. The style characteristic of lacquer ware in Han Dynasty is not an isolated phenomenon. It permeates mutually on the style of decoration and the craft techniques such as painting, calligraphy, bronze vessels etc. Besides, on craft arts of Han Dynasty like copper mirror, portrait stone, the portrait brick and tiles, the flute and elastic line and the vivid style are all a veins to accept mutually with the lacquer ware of Han Dynasty. Thus, the lacquer ware of the Han Dynasty matures in mutual effect of various arts.

Abstract:In Taiwan, preservation and training policies of intangible cultural assets are highly valued by the government. In this study, lacquerware art craft education as intangible cultural heritage is the subject of this study. We conducted in-depth interviews and secondary data collection to obtain research data and carried out a grounded theory data analysis method through expert meetings to explore the passing on education strategy of “lacquerware art craft” in Taiwan. Firstly, based on Bloom’s educational objectives, the study analyzed three aspects of lacquer art education: cognitive, affection and skill, and proposed a “Lacquerware Art Passing-On Education Framework Diagram”. Later, the analysis results of the grounded theory enable us to summarize the “Lacquerware art value and learning structure diagram”. In this structure, it reveals that the Lacquerware artist’s way of thinking about the craft levels can echo the system of the Three Extremes of the Tao in the Book of Changes and divide the value levels of creation into the levels of tools of livelihood, way of living and philosophy of life.

Abstract:In order to investigate the evolution of Chinese lacquering techniques, seven pieces of lacquer Lian from the Warring States Period to the Yuan Dynasty (475 BC–1368 AD) were analyzed by means of cross-section observation, Raman spectroscopy (RS), and thermally assisted hydrolysis and methylation pyrolysis coupled with gas chromatography/mass spectroscopy (Py-GC/MS). The results revealed that the lacquer Lian consisted of a three-layer structure, encompassing a pigment layer on the surface, an undercoat layer in the middle, and a ground layer. The red mineral pigment utilized was cinnabar, while a combination of Chinese lacquer and drying oil served as the primary organic material. Although lacquering techniques had undergone minimal changes from the Warring States Period to the Yuan Dynasty, the species of drying oil had changed, based on the fact that boiled tung oil was found in the ground layer of lacquerware from the Song Dynasty and the Yuan Dynasty. The present research provides direct evidence for the inheritance and development of Chinese lacquer technology.

Abstract:In the context of digitalization, the lacquerware of Yi nationality with local characteristics needs to use computer-related technology to burst out new cores.Aiming at the problem that the resource database based on humanities such as history and archaeology cannot meet the demand for lacquerware resources and knowledge in the field of cultural creative design. This research starts from the design and introduces the concept of ontology through the general creative design process. After deconstruction and reconstruction, the knowledge of lacquerware objects will be processed, stored and applied through computers, so as to construct a multi-level information resource framework for modern creation and design, and build a dialogue and cooperation platform for multi-party professionals.The designer uses this resource frame directly through the computer to obtain information resources of Yi nationality lacquerware that meets the design needs. Finally, it is verified by application that the resource framework can assist in the creation of contemporary design language and the cultural creation and design of Yi nationality lacquerware.

Abstract:Lacquer painting in China is gaining recognition and growing rapidly. Many colleges and universities have set up the subject of lacquer painting, but there is no systematic understanding of how to set up the subject of lacquer painting. The author would like to find out the advantages and disadvantages of the study. Further, the research will provide and theoretical reference for the improvement of the subject construction of lacquer painting. This paper summarizes the formation, development and present situation of lacquer painting by means of literature research. Employing comparative analysis, on the construction of lacquer painting subject in several representative fine arts colleges and comprehensive universities, and finds out the characteristics of the construction of lacquer painting subject in colleges and universities in China. The author believes that the subject construction of lacquer painting should further optimize the teaching mode, strengthen the faculty and discipline management, in order to make the subject of lacquer painting in Chinese colleges and universities further develop.

Research on the lacquered techniques adopted by the urushiware excavated from the Fangwanggang site in Anhui of West Han Dynasty

Abstract:Some analytic methods used to study lacquer films from Fangwanggang site,an important tomb of Han Dynasty excavated in 1996.These methods were block skiving,optical microscopy,ash test,X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,etc.The micrographs showed that several obvious layers existed in the lacquer film,including piaster layer,ground layer and painting layer.Both the red lacquer films and red patterns have natural lacquer as film-former and cinnabar(HgS)as red pigment.During Han Dynasty in China,people always applied the red lacquer liquid onto the black or brown film,that belonged to a conventional regulation men- tioned in the contemporary documents.Some quartz grains had been observed in the lacquer film.The micrograms showed that they are in good psephicity with small grain diameter of about 4～70(m,indicating the quartz was pro- cessed by human.The infrared spectrum of a kind of melanocratic drawing which was popular during Han Dynasty seemed similar to that of the brown film.This indicated that natural lacquer could been used as the film-former in both of them.

Abstract:: The lacquerware in Zeng Hou Yi's tomb is a representative of Chu lacquerware in the early Warring States period. In order to interpret the lacquerware patterns unearthed in Zeng Hou Yi's tomb, this paper adopts Panofsky's image research and analysis method combined with literature materials to explore the three aspects of the description of the former image, the interpretation of the image and the analysis of the image. The research shows that the lacquerware of Zeng Hou Yi tomb is featured by superb technology, exquisite pattern and rich story meaning. The formation of lacquerware patterns in Zeng Hou Yi's tomb was deeply influenced by Taoism, which carried Chu's primitive religious belief and diversified national culture. Based on the analysis of patterns, this paper aims to provide a new perspective for the study of contemporary art by studying traditional Chinese culture.
