Abstract:According to the structural features and operating principles of a typical hydrostatic mechanical seal,an analytical method for solving mechanical deformation of sealing ring is developed on the basis of ring deformation theory.Its validity is verified by using the ANSYS finite element method,and its applicability is defined.Based on the analytical method for seal ring mechanical deformation and gap flow field calculation,and by taking the deflection angle induced by the mechanical deformation of sealing ring as the calculation transfer parameter of fluid domain and solid domain,a semi-analytical fluid-solid coupling model for hydrostatic mechanical seals is put forward.Based on the model,some sealing parameters including pressure distribution,leakage rate and fluid film stiffness are obtained under some working condition,and are compared with the results of pure flow field calculation.Furthermore,the regularities that sealing performances are influenced by some factors such as initial cone angle of the seal rings and pre-tightening force of the screws are researched.The research contents provide a convenient and high-efficiency method for the research of fluid-solid-coupling problems of hydrostatic mechanical seals.
