Abstract:Five hundred hens of native meat breed were used to detected serum cholesterol concentration(SCC) and the yolk cholesterol concentration(YCC)at 300 days of age,the range were 35 to 200 mg/dL and 10 to 22 mg/g yolk respectively. With Cluster analysis,SCC and YCC were divided to 5 and 4 significant-difference groups to study the relationship with egg traits. The results showed that variation trends of SCC and YCC were same, and the correlation between SCC and YCC at 300 days of age was weak With the significantly increasing of SCC,body weight at first laying, egg number to 300 days of age(EN3)and hatchability increased first and decreased afterwards on the whole; but the weight of first egg increased all the time. In comparison,120 to 145 mg/dl SCC group showed bestEN3 and hatchability. With the markedly increasing of YCC,the age at first egg displayed remarkably shorten trend, egg weight and yolk weight at 300 days of age was significantly increased on the whole(P<0.05). Among the groups, 120 to 145 mg/dL SCC group had the earliest laying age,the lowest hatchability of fertilized eggs, the biggest egg weight and yolk weight at 300 days of age. Overall the moderate of SCC(120 to 145 mg/dL)and YCC(11 to 15 mg/g yolk)were benefit to egg traits.
