Abstract:Objective:To recover organic nitrogen from chitin-alkali effluent by acid and alkali resistant Nanofiltration membrane(NFM),the different operating conditions including the temperatures and the trans-membrane pressures(TMPs) were explored, which have taken an important role on the permeation fluxes and the rejection of the target.By that, membrane main operation parameters and Nanofiltration concentrated mass transfer analysis were established. Methods:The optimal TMP and the optimal temperature were determined by comparing the change of the fluxes and the rejections under the different operating conditions, under which the same alkali liquors in the equivalent volume were circulated for eight hours the NFM.After that, the alkali effluent was concentrated for the recovery of the organic nitrogen by the NFM under that certain conditions. The mass-transfer during the Nanofiltration of the effluent was analyzed via the Matlab simulating the parameters of the NFM basing on the Teorell-Meyer-Sievers(TMS) model and the Steric-Hindrance Pore(SHP) model. Results:The optimum operating condition was that the TMP was fixed at 30 bar(3.0 MPa) and the circulating temperature is around 40 ℃,which benefited the enrichment of the peptides and offered a faster flux than other conditions.Apart from that, the rejections of the peptides increased over the time. Finally, the penetration rate of the organic nitrogen was just 5.92%.The pore diameter of the stained NFM narrowed compared to the clean NFM,which was on the basis of the TMS model. And the surface charge density of the NFM got dense during the Nanofiltration, which was based on the SHP model. Conclusion:The membrane pore shrunk slowly and the membrane surface charge enriched during the concentration by the NFM,which might enlarged the rejections of the peptides.
