Abstract:Along with the rapid growth of information technologies and globalization,and the fast process of Chinese economic upgrading and transformation,the environment for Chinese firms is becoming more complex and dynamic.How to tackle the challenge brought by dynamic environment or how to utilize the opportunities provided by dynamic environment has become the key question of strategic management for most firms and focal topic for academia in China.The theory of dynamic capabilities is capable of explaining how and why certain firms can attain competitive advantages in fast-changing and uncertain environment.However the concepts and definitions in existing literatures are so broad and vague that dynamic capabilities are difficult to observe and empirical studies are rare,especially in the context of China. Knowledge resources are widely considered as the most valuable ones among all kinds of resources.The school of knowledge-based view conceptualizes firms as heterogenous,knowledge-bearing entities and deems that capabilities of firms are integration of knowledge.Meanwhile,building innovation networks has become a key approach to acquire knowledge and improve innovation performance.Especially,network embeddedness is widely believed to have significant influence on technological innovation.However in existing literatures there are no clear answers to how network embeddedness impact on innovation and the relationship between network embeddedness and dynamic capabilities.Based on the relationship between dynamic capability,network embeddness as well as innovation performace. This paper explores the relationship between knowledge-based dynamic capabilities,network embeddedness and innovation reveals that different network embeddedness attributes including diversity,trust,joint problem solving and commitment have significant influence on knowledge acquisition capability and knowledge integration capability and knowledge integration capability has pivotal impact on innovation performance.Therefore,a theoretical framework-network embeddedness-dynamic capabilities-innovation performance is established and the black box of the mechanism of network embeddedness is opened.These findings may inspire future research on dynamic capabilities and innovation in the network circumstance.

Abstract:Under the rapid development of globalization and knowledge economy,various organizations are urgently needed to adapt to the dynamic environment and new development through change,learning and innovation. In this study,we used the multi-case experimental learning technique to test the key characteristics of organizational change and relevant human resource and change strategies,especially the crucial effects of organizational learning. With the content analysis of 110 organizational change scenarios,four key characteristics were verified: risky innovation,dynamic integration,network interaction and cultural diversity. Training development,recruitment placement and performance compensation were effective human resource management strategies for organizational change process. The results of statistical analysis showed that multiple factors affected organizational performance while organizational learning played an intervening effect. Among dimensions of organizational learning,experimental learning was most significant on performance. This study also showed that organizational learning enhanced the change effectiveness by facilitating two change strategies: cultural learning strategy and team coordination strategy.

Abstract:Based on the theoretical framework constructed for relationship between the firm's knowledge accumula-tion and innovation capabilities, following the clue of 'motivations of knowledge accumulation→ actions of know-ledge accumulation→ knowledge base construction→ knowledge base activation→ evolution of innovation capabili-ties', the present paper established a model for simulating the dynamic interaction of knowledge accumulating and innovation capabilities evolving in a firm via software of Vensim PLE. Research finds got: (1)Knowledge accumu-lation in conduced to leverage a firm's innovation capabilities with increasing marginal contribution. And the effect of increasing marginal contribution of a firm's diachronic knowledge accumulation to innovation capabilities is con-ditioned by its agglomerative knowledge accumulation. (2)A firm's innovation capabilities rigidity is not derived from knowledge accumulation per se, instead of the way of knowledge accumulation. (3)There exists critical mass when knowledge accumulation contributes to a firm's innovation capabilities leveraging.

Abstract:This article investigates effects of network tie and organizational learning capacity on knowledge diffusion through focal firms in industrial cluster. Results show that: the strength of network tie to be a direct driving force in knowledge diffusion through focal firms while organizational learning capacity is also directly involved in pushing the process along. This conclusion is supported by an analysis of a multi-case study.

Abstract:As we all know,technology-base entrepreneurial companies often have strong technological capabilities,but it doesn't mean they also have technological advantages.Organizational dynamic capability(or knowledge integration capability) is the critical factor that would affect the transformation from technological capabilities to technological advantages.Organizational dynamic capability here includes two specific knowledge integration capabilities,that is,external knowledge integration capability and internal knowledge integration capability.Dynamic capability in technology-based entrepreneurial firms is a critical mediator between technological capability and competitive advantage.On base of 3 technology-based entrepreneurial companies' case studies,the paper explained a theoretical mode and hypothesis.

Abstract:For the sake of making the enterprise habitual theory play an important role in practice, it is not enough to research this theory only to the extent of the concept. The law of evolution of this theory should be found out and deeply studied. In this paper, the hierarchy of enterprise habitual system has been analyzed to prove its self-organization. Based on the synergetics theory, the simplified model of enterprise organization habitual domains (EOHD) has been established in an ideal condition to discuss the solution of its stationary state and then the time-delay characteristics of EOHD evolution have been gained. The results of research have also been used to analyze the enterprise merge & acquisition (MA) problem.

Abstract:Knowledge is a crucial resource in developing sustainable competitive advantage for a firm. This paper examines the impact of knowledge characteristics and knowledge transfer mechanisms on implication of performance. Building on a dynamic perspective, we develop three proportions to indicate the relationship. These results show that knowledge differs in characteristics and so do the available transfer mechanism. There is a fit between the mechanism of transfer and the specific knowledge characteristics. And the misfit patterns may cause loss of knowledge in the process of transmission or may involve unnecessarily high communication costs, this can impair the performance of the organization.

Abstract:Dynamic capabilities are key source of sustainable competitive advantage.Integrating RBV and modern evolutionary theories,this paper suggests that the core of dynamic capabilities is the ability of producing and modifying a firm's operational routines for improved effects systematically,with the environmental dynamics as references and target for matching.As a result,making sense of environmental dynamics and responding effectively is the key for a firm to construct dynamic capabilities.Based on literature review,this paper adopts the sense-and-respond model as research framework.Through case study,processes from sensing to responding are observed.Then some findings got:(1) Processes of dynamic capabilities building are the continuous processes of new factors introduced into a firm and reciprocated with its existing resource/capabilities base.(2) Knowledge sharing and collective interpretation is the key to dynamic capabilities' building and renewing.

Abstract:This study brings forward the concept and construct of knowledge-based dynamic capabilities by integrating knowledge-based view and dynamic capability researches.Knowledge-based dynamic capabilities are the abilities to acquire,generate and integrate knowledge to sence,match and even creat market change.Based on this we develope a measurement scale including three dimensions(knowledge acquisition,konwlege generation and knowledge integration) and 16 items.The validity of this construct was verified by explorative factor analysis and confirmative factor analysis with 218 questionnaires.

Abstract:The organizational absorptive capacity to leverage external knowledge resource is extremely important source of competitive advantage. With the development of open innovation and the complexity of the relationship between organization and its external environment,the existing absorptive capability concept couldn't explain the organizational behavior and competitive advantage in the network context and in the open innovation model. In this article,we review the antecedents,processes,output and moderators of the absorptive capacity,and analysis the three dimensions and two stages of the open innovation. Based on that,we propose that we could extend the concept according to the process dynamics,explorative and exploitative learning,combinative characters of the knowledge and ego-network,and the paths of the knowledge transfer. In the end,we suggest the future research direction about the absorptive capability and open innovation.

Abstract:Dynamic capabilities are regarded as a strategic premise to creating, maintaining and upgrading sustainable competitiveness. Considering organizational learning as a mediator variable, this study tests the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and dynamic capabilities, and identifies paths to develop dynamic capabilities and the components of these capabilities. More specifically, the factor analysis method was employed to verify that dynamic capabilities are comprised of four dimensions, i.e. environmental sensing capabilities, change and renewal capabilities, technological and organizational flexibility capabilities. It was found that dimensions of entrepreneurial orientation have a significantly positive effect on dynamic capabilities to different extents, while organizational learning, which has significantly positive effect on dynamic capabilities, plays a partial mediating role between the two. These findings indicate that companies can build dynamic capabilities through different levels of organizational learning in the context of innovative and proactive atmosphere.

Abstract:With an embedded single-case study on a typical joint venture in the rapidly developing elevator industry of China,this article investigates the relationships between modular structure and dynamic capabilities.The research results unveil the causes of the fact that organizational modularity increased first and dynamic capabilities increased later.Finally,it further puts forward the proposition that organizational modularity have positive effect on the development of dynamic capabilities.

Abstract:The aims of this study were to better integrate various schools of definition of dynamic capabilities theory since its emergence and to determine the evolution mechanism of dynamic capabilities by conducting a systematic literature review using bibliometrics and content analysis. The literature review identified multiple perspectives regarding the evolution of dynamic capabilities, including organisational routines, entrepreneurship, and ‘improvisational capabilities’. A micro-evolution framework of ‘individuals, groups and organisations’ was obtained from these perspectives and then aggregated into an ‘adapt-innovate-respond’ analysis framework of dynamic capabilities evolution. The analytical framework forms a spiral model of dynamic capabilities demonstrating the relationship between the evolution of dynamic capabilities and enterprises. This study integrates multiple perspectives on dynamic capabilities, establishes a comprehensive analysis framework, and clarifies the essential connotations of dynamic capability evolution. Finally, suggestions for future research on the evolution of dynamic capabilities are provided.

Abstract:How enterprise overcomes path dependency to achieve reconfiguration of innovation capability that coevolves with environment? GOP model, a tridimensional organizational learning framework is proposed by this paper through longitude case study of Sunyard. Goal, object and pathway are three key dimensions of organizational learning mechanism during innovation capability reconfiguration process. On the one hand, there is a top-down capability disruptive learning mechanism. Enterprises with complex strategic schema are able to recognize new opportunities and threats during strategic learning process, and identify the new variation direction of innovation capability reconfiguration that adapt to environmental change. On the other hand, there is a bottom-up capability reinforced learning mechanism. Enterprises abstract selected routines from work practices during routinized learning process. Then, enterprises abstract selected capabilities from routines and leveraged it from individual-level to firm-level during capability learning process. This finding not only reveals how enterprise disrupts innovation capability to adapt to environment, but also reveals how companies reinforce innovation capability to select and manage the environment. The ambidexterity mechanism between adaptation and selection during coevolution process is revealed.
