Comparative Study of Urban and Rural Elementary Schools' ICT-education

Abstract:The study aims to exam if there were significant differences among urban and rural elementary schools in the implementation of ICT education. The study focused on information technology curriculum. A questionnaire according to three dimensions (learning, instruction, surroundings of learning) was the measurement tool for the study. The target population was all 5th grade schools students from three selected elementary schools located in Zhejiang Province (one was urban school, another was rural school, and the third one was urban school for rural kids). 490 students were randomly selected to fill in the survey. Results of data analysis found that: (1) the overall quality of ICT education in the selected schools is satisfactory. However students from different schools differed significantly in their learning behavior; (2) teachers from different schools performed significantly differently in the classroom; (3) there were significant differences among different schools' learning environments; (4) gender and having PC or not had significant impact on students' learning behavior in ICT course; (5) all of the selected schools ignored cultivation of computer culture in schools. Based on these finding, researchers put forward some proposals.

Abstract:With the rapid development of information technology, its application in the field of education is increasingly extensive, which has brought new opportunities and challenges for primary school English teaching. This paper aims to explore the primary school English teaching strategy with information technology as the carrier, aiming to improve the quality and efficiency of English teaching in primary schools by making rational use of information technology. This paper first analyzes the characteristics of pupils' thinking and learning, and the advantages of information technology in primary school English teaching, including resource richness, strong interaction, and convenient situation reproduction. These advantages provide a more vivid and intuitive teaching environment for English teaching, and help to stimulate students' interest and enthusiasm in learning. Then, the paper elaborated the primary school English teaching strategy with information technology as the carrier, namely, interest stimulation, new lesson introduction; micro course teaching, focus on the difficult points, create the situation, create atmosphere, enrich resources, expand horizons, store resources, accumulate precipitation. In short, information technology can not only enrich the teaching content, improve the teaching effect, but also stimulate students 'interest in learning and cultivate students' information support. Therefore, combining information technology with primary school English teaching is an effective way to improve the quality of English teaching in primary school.

Abstract:Primary school's programming courses for children are made up of software [1] courses and hardware courses. In the six semester, after summing up the teaching results, we found that the cultivation of computer thinking for primary school students, interest in training, could begin from elementary school. In the course of the lecture, there are many real-life knowledge: RFID cards, radar ranging, smart street lights, intelligent traffic lights, remote control, game programming, etc. While playing, I learned basic physics and mathematics, and learned computer programming knowledge. This paper summarizes the contents of the course and sorts out a set of courseware and experiment contents that are suitable for primary school students to develop computer programming.

Abstract:Teachers taking part in in-service training related to their field of study feel better in this area, and significant differences have been observed in many items. These items are as follows; "I write an algorithm for a given problem situation; I create a suitable flowchart for a given problem situation; I write logical code blocks; I code suitably for a given problem situation; I enrich coding activities through examples from real life; I collaborate with my students in order to develop various coding projects; I try to improve the skills of my students by using Mblock platform, which is a tool that helps learning; I try to improve the skills of my students by using EV3 Lego Mindstorm, which is a tool that helps learning; I try to improve the skills of my students by using MIT App Inventor, which is a tool that helps learning; I try to improve the skills of my students by using Alice, which is a tool that helps learning. I try to improve the skills of my students by using HTML, which is a tool that helps learning; I feel the need for a coding tool in my lessons." The fact that some programs are not preferred stands out after examining significant differences. This situation may indicate that teachers have second thoughts. Therefore, in-service training, peer education, and distance education portals may contribute positively to the self-improvement of the teachers in their field. Via distance education, presentations that will inspire the teachers in terms of content and some examples can be shared, and the curriculum of university departments can be updated based on the needs. Examples can be introduced through activities organized for teachers, namely conferences, seminars, and symposiums. The content may be enriched with workshops within the context of these activities. The findings of this research will be not only a guide for Information Technology teachers but also a resource in the curriculum of the CEIT (Computer Education and Instructional Technology) Department.

Abstract:With the rapid development of the Internet and mobile information technology, the state has made it clear that "Internet¬+" education has become an important development project for national education. Information technology education is also playing an increasingly important role in the development of students, and online and offline hybrid teaching is a teaching mode that is very suitable for information technology. Online and offline blended teaching is a new teaching model that has emerged in the mobile internet era, and is a combination of online learning and the advantages of traditional teaching. However, there are still problems with online and offline blended teaching such as uncertainty in the use of educational resources, so a more appropriate teaching process system needs to be tapped to achieve better teaching results.

Abstract:With the rapid development of the era of artificial intelligence, the application ability of programming is also highlighted. As one of the necessary abilities of social talents in the future, primary and secondary schools pay more and more attention to this, and programming education is also in full swing. Therefore, based on previous studies, this paper further clarifies the current situation when the current situation of programming education in primary and secondary schools is ambiguous. This paper is aimed at a wide range of primary and secondary school teachers. With 1500 teachers who participated in the online training class for programming teachers as the object in Chinese primary, middle and high school stages, mainly from the three levels of schools, teachers, and students. The questionnaire with good reliability and validity test was used as the research method, the survey data were statistically described and analyzed, and differences were analyzed using Microsoft Excel2019, SPSS26.0 and so on, it investigates and analyzes the current situation of programming education in primary and secondary schools. Results indicate that the overall quality of programming education offerings in elementary and secondary schools is subpar, and the construction of programming education curriculum in schools requires improvement. Nevertheless, schools prioritize improving students' comprehensive abilities, and teachers hold a positive attitude towards programming education and teaching. Although students demonstrate a strong interest in learning, their foundation is weak, resulting in poor learning outcomes. Consequently, the author provides specific recommendations regarding programming education's working mechanism, curriculum standard system, teacher training, and educational resources sharing to better develop programming education in primary and secondary schools.

Abstract:This paper examines how information and communication technology (ICT) is utilized for the purpose of teaching Chinese language in Singapore’s primary school. From the analysis of 17 Chinese lessons, conclusions regarding the role of ICT in Singapore’s Chinese language teaching emerge, showing how various types of ICT tools and materials are manipulated for different purposes of teaching, how ICT is combined with pedagogies widely used in Chinese language teaching, how ICT is incorporated into classroom interaction, and how ICT works together with textbook in Chinese classroom. This paper also attempts to explain the findings of data analysis in terms of teachers’ attitude to ICT use, the problems of policy initiatives and the limitation of technology itself.

Abstract:In today's society, information and communication technology (ICT) has become an ever-present force, deeply ingrained in all aspects of our lives. Its crucial role in our daily routines highlights its significance, especially in education. This paper focuses on exploring the viewpoints of primary school teachers regarding integrating technology in their classrooms. Additionally, it examines how educators' academic backgrounds and years of teaching experience may influence their attitudes toward technology in primary education. A quantitative survey with a convenient sampling of 50 teachers was employed in this study. The research objectives include identifying primary teachers' attitudes toward technology use and investigating potential differences based on teaching experience and educational qualifications. The results highlight an increasing necessity to explore the subtle motivations and concerns that underpin teachers' technological attitudes.

Abstract:Since Input Hypothesis was proposed, it has attracted the attention of domestic and foreign linguists. However, Input Hypothesis is still a “virgin land” in the teaching practices of primary and high schools. This paper aims to investigate the teaching of junior high school English so as to find out the applications of Input Hypothesis in junior high school English teaching and then propose a series of strategies that can be applied in junior high school English classes in accordance with the four principles of Input Hypothesis. The study was carried out in seventh grade of a junior high school. The researchers observed the English lessons of two classes in seventh grade for three months, analyzed the teaching plans and interviewed the teacher of the two classes. This paper found out that many teaching strategies that the teacher used are theoretically related to Input Hypothesis. However, the teacher has never learned about this theory. In order to bridge the gap between Input Hypothesis and English teaching in junior high school, this paper explained four principles of this hypothesis and put forward some possible strategies. This paper hopes to make contributions to the application of linguistic theories in English teaching og junior high school and urge teachers to equip themselves with these theories.

In view of the main pain point problems in the teaching process, such as students 'insufficient cognition of teachers' role, difficulty in active construction and poor information-based teaching ability. Abstract:Basic elementary function is an important module in mathematics learning, and its abstract nature leads to an increase in learning difficulty. Computer information technology has created a new path for visualizing abstract content. Computer-aided teaching is an educational means that has emerged in recent years, but there are many problems that need to be solved urgently in the process of using it. This paper aims to emphasize the importance of computer in mathematics education and compare computer-aided education with other forms of teaching technology. Therefore, based on the constructivist learning theory, this paper puts forward educational strategies to make learning more enjoyable and sustainable through the computer-aided teaching and learning (CATL) system. The proposed method is an important idea to implement and apply each teacher's teaching and learning experience, thus making learning enjoyable and interactive. The CATL system is a gateway to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of the education system. Computer education is part of the curricula of schools because it is vital to every learner today. The research results from 320 students and 8 teachers in a university show that, the CATL system improves the student's performance and interaction between teacher and student. The CATL attains 94.43% of the performance rate, which is not attainable by other approaches.
