Abstract:Textile industry is an important exporting industry for China. Many scholars made a great deal of researches on the international competitiveness of Chinese textile industry and gained many achievements. This paper firstly systematically summarized the relevant study outcome from 4 aspects: other countries, Chinese, industry cluster, technology transformation. Secondly, this paper analyzed the major competitors of Chinese textile industry, including Southeast Asian countries, Japan, India, Pakistan, European Union, Turkey, Central & Eastern Europe, countries along the Mediterranean, U.S.A., Canada, etc. Finally, the paper prospected the situation of EU market. All these laid the foundation for the further study.

Abstract:This paper aims to elaborate the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative, through a SWOT analysis of the China-Indonesia relation and investment conditions and a descriptive analysis of the impact of the development of Indonesian port cities. The Belt and Road Initiative emerges as a new Chinese government strategy of cooperation with neighboring countries. It will revitalize the existing Silk Road and build a Maritime Silk Road, connecting South East Asia through the Indian Ocean to the Middle East and North Africa. It exhibits similarities with Indonesia's Maritime Toll program. Indonesia's involvement in the Maritime Silk Road offers many opportunities to foreign countries to invest and participate in their economic development. However, Indonesia's Investment Coordinating Board states that Chinese investment realization in Indonesia was no more than 10% in 2014. The output of this paper consists of recommendations for both parties to create a conducive investment climate by getting to know each country well, assuring the realization of planned investment, taking advantage of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Zone and the AIIB, and upgrading the investment system.

Abstract:Textile and garment industry has been an important part of Chinese national economy since ancient times, and is an important export foreign exchange earning industry in China. Due to many adverse factors in the global economic development in recent years, Chinese garment production enterprises are facing great production pressure. From the perspective of international competition pattern, this paper makes a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the current situation and main influencing factors of the export competitiveness of Chinese textile and garment industry by referring to research results in related fields and competitiveness evaluation methods, points out the shortcomings of Chinese textile and garment industry, and proposes countermeasures to improve the competitiveness of Chinese textile and garment industry on the basis of empirical analysis results.

Abstract:China is the largest producer and exporter of silk product in the world and its silk industry is one of the special export industries which has strong competitive advantages in the international market currently. In this paper,SWOT analysis was carried out on China's silk industry under the particular background of‘post-quota era’of silk trade. The competitive advantages and disadvantages,the opportunities and challenges in the current international environment faced by China's silk industry were analyzed. In addition,countermeasures such as completing the industrial chain in central and western regions of China as soon as possible,promoting technological innovation in silk industry,implementing brand strategy,and expanding the export of finished silk products were proposed for future development of China's silk industry.

Abstract:In recent years, the rapid development of Chinese apparel industry has made China the world's largest producer, consumer and exporter of clothing, but it is still a large manufacturer country and a small country of brand which lacks its own international brands. Therefore, besides keeping the amount of production and export, at the same time, Chinese apparel industry has to realize the necessity of creating an international brand. In addition, as for the coming of the post-quota era for the world garment trade and the development trend of garment industrial pattern, they all provide a better environment and better growth space for international trade cooperation for the Chinese apparel industry to create an international brand. This paper mainly focuses on the strategic research for Chinese apparel industry, in order to create an international brand, and hoping that it can achieve this goal as soon as possible.

Abstract:Textile industry is a pillar industry of Shaoxing.It is also one of the traditional labor-intensive industries,which has obvious comparative advantage and high dependence on international markets.The paper selects textile industry of Shaoxing,Zhejiang province as the research subject.Based on the literature of international marketing strategy and export performance,taking the development of Shaoxing textile industry and export into consideration,a theoretical model of international marketing strategy and export performance is built.According to the theoretical model,questionnaires were designed to collect data and information of relevant enterprises.After data are analyzed statistically and structural equation modeling is tested,various factors should be analyzed that have impacts on international marketing strategy and export performance.Finally,research results are explained and discussed,and suggestions on further improving the performance of Shaoxing textile export are brought forward.
Exploring Factors Affecting the Development of Export-Oriented Garment Industry: Facing the Global Competitiveness Challenges

Abstract:The purpose of this study was to explore the factors that affect the development of exported-oriented garment industry facing the global competitiveness challenges.This study examines competitiveness challenges of export-oriented garment industry by testing the research hypotheses.The basis of this study lies in understanding what kind of competitiveness challenges in terms of resource-based, dynamic capabilities and market-based factors. In this study, a purposeful sample of 250 sectors was drawn from total 359 Thailand exported-oriented garment sectors and a total of 211 respondents fully answered the required questions. Study participants were garment supervisors and managers, in garment industry over 5 years. The data collection includes questionnaire investigation for quantitative factor analysis method. Specifically, this study provides empirical evidence on the specific channels and mechanisms through what principal factor within current garment sectors. The findings showed the factors influence the competitiveness challenges of export-oriented garment industry. Therefore, the competitiveness challenges conceptual model emerged with respect to this industry.The model, which identified the main competitive hurdles that export-oriented garment industry faces (i.e., challenges relates to productivity, lead-time, collaboration, opportunity identification, quick response and risk identification factors). Additionally, the author presents Tai export-oriented garment industry current situation, which revealed this strong buy-driven industry needs to restructure their strategies to focus high value added activities and to enhance their competitiveness.
The Belt and Road Initiative and Its Perceived Impacts on the Textile and Garment Industry of Vietnam

Abstract:The main purpose of this study was to find out the perceived impacts on the garment and textile industry of Vietnam from the Belt and Road Initiative (the BRI), a global-scale developmental and trade facilitation policy of China. The research applied both desk review and in-depth interviews with 54 leaders and high-ranked officials from public and private sectors in 2017 to identify potential impacts of the BRI on the Vietnam textile and garment industry. In addition, perceived challenges and opportunities of the BRI were also examined. Respondents from both sectors agreed that the initiative could foster textile export and the development of infrastructure. Apart from that, the main challenge is recognized as the poor competitiveness of Vietnamese textile firms on the international commercial playground. Solution insights that were offered through interviews suggested that the competence of domestic apparel brands and establishment of ODM (Original Design Manufacturing) and OBM (Own Brand Manufacturing) business models in Vietnamese textile producers may play the key roles in coping with the new challenges and in grasping opportunities that the initiative has to offer. From the perspective of the state, an improved public administration system is perceived as the key element in supporting the enterprises for upcoming challenges.

Abstract:This paper aims to identify the prospects and challenges from Indonesia's industrial diplomacy. Indonesian industry contributes almost 20 percent to Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Industrial sector is the backbone of the Indonesian economy, besides having a high value (export) also provide jobs. Recent trend Indonesia’s national industries growing at a low speed, especially during the covid-19 pandemic. In the midst of this uncertain situation, the national industry is still show a good performance. Industrial diplomacy is urgently needed. The research method was a qualitative approach, which data collection technique was conducted through literature review. The result of this paper shows that Indonesian government continues to strive to improve the competitiveness of the national industry so that it can be competitive at the global level through industrial diplomacy. Some challenges like trade barriers, product strategy, synergy and coordination, and the low number of representations of industrial diplomats became challenges in industrial diplomacy. With the right strategy and successful implementation of Making Indonesia 4.0, Indonesia has an opportunity to become the top 10 largest economies in the world by 2030.

Abstract:Against the economic globalization background, enterprises in our country are facing the intensifying competition. The current theory is limited in angle of enterprise and industry competition, showing the lack of cluster competitiveness analysis. To most small and medium-sized enterprises without core competitiveness, industry cluster is an effective type of organization to promote the competitiveness. This paper created the “New-Diamond Framework” by using Porter's “Country Competitive Advantage Theory” as a source of reference and made empirical study on typical Zhejiang textile cluster. We think it has the strategy meaning to promote clusters' competitiveness and internationalization of the small and medium-sized enterprises in our country.

Abstract:From the results of China's "13th Five-Year Plan". Scientific and technological innovation has achieved remarkable results, and the textile industry has achieved the development of the entire industrial chain. Therefore, this article analyzed the international competitiveness of China's textile industry by comparing China's textile industry with the countries related to the world's three major textile centers. Firstly, based on the niche theory and the Michael Porter Diamon model, an evaluation index system for the textile industry niche was constructed. For countries, related to the three major centers of the textile industry, analyzed the relative niche and comprehensive niche scores of each dimension from 2016 to 2019. The world textile industry was measured according to the niche theory. The Vulnerability Index was calculated from normalized data. The aim was to explore the competitiveness of the textile industry in various countries as well as the future development potential and trends. According to the research results, the textile industry competitiveness of the 10 countries was divided into three levels. The first level was China, the second level was the United States, and India and the remaining seven countries were at the third level. The results showed that as of 2019, the comprehensive competitiveness of my country's textile industry was far ahead of other countries, and development potential and trends were better than in other countries in the future. However, at the same time, to further improve the international competitiveness and comprehensive strength of the textile industry, there was also necessary to pay attention to the coordinated development of social and government support.
THE COMPETITIVENESS OF EXPORT-ORIENTED GARMENT INDUSTRY IN GUANGDONG (CHINA) IN THE POST-CRISIS ERA

Abstract:Garment industry is the most traditional and the most fashion industry in the world. The sales of the world textile and apparel goods are only lower than the tourism industry and information industry which means it is the world's third largest industry. As the leading province, Guangdong's output, value and export amount of production rank first in the nation for many years. Despite the rapid development, some problems still expose in Guangdong garment industry. There is a trend showing that the status of the largest garment export province is replaced by Zhejiang Province in these two years. Since the year 2008, Guangdong’s garment industry has to face both domestic and external difficulties, such as the RMB appreciation, the financial crisis, the global economic downturn, lower export tax rebate rate and the rising labor costs, raw material prices, etc. In the post-crisis era, careful study on the international competitiveness of garment industry in Guangdong is very necessary and urgent. In this study, the RCA and Michael E. Porter’s “Diamond Model” are used to evaluate and analyze the industrial competitiveness. The RCA indicates that during the crisis and post-crisis era, Guangdong garment industry still has industrial competitiveness but the competitiveness is on a downward trend. Discussing within the Porter’s “Diamond Model”, Guangdong still has advantages in comparatively low cost labor force, complete chain of textile and garment industry and lots of specialized industrial clusters. But with the increase of costs, shortage of land and labor, lack of own brands and domestic demand, low profit rate and strong rivals, Guangdong’s garment industrial competitiveness seems to became weakened. As the amount of export could reflect the competitiveness in a way, four regressions are generated to detect the factors affecting the export. Some suggestions are raised for upgrading the industrial level.

Abstract:This study explains the current situation and the significance of the textile and clothing industries in Malaysia, as well as how they are depicted. Textiles and clothes are the most important elements in human life and modern civilization. Furthermore, the textile industry is the foundation of industrialization for any country around the globe, and the economy of developing countries today is largely dependent on this sector. Once upon a time, Malaysian textiles and apparel were a major source of foreign cash. It is, however, presently erupting. This paper would be an adequate foundation for establishing the textile and garment business on a huge scale in Malaysia. Textile industrialization, the structure of the Malaysian textile industry, export and import states, gross domestic product (GDP) performance, energy consumption, product mix and customer, health, and safety issues have all been thoroughly addressed in this study. To summarize, the textile and garment industry has a substantial impact on Malaysian GDP, imports, and exports, as well as existing industries that produce items for global customers. Upstream textile industry numbers must be increased in tandem with downstream textile industry numbers so that the textile sector may contribute significantly to Malaysia’s GDP and export–import orientation.
Analysis on the Export Situation of Suzhou Textile Industry

Abstract:China has been famous for its textile industry since ancient times. Compared with other cities, the development of Suzhou's textile industry is far ahead. The development of Suzhou's textile industry started earlier and developed mature. After the reform and opening up, Suzhou is the first batch of textile export areas. Textile industry is the pillar industry of Suzhou, accounting for a large proportion in Suzhou's export trade. Taking Suzhou Textile as the research object, this paper first analyzes the export situation of Suzhou Textile products from three aspects: export overview, export regional distribution and main export product types. On the basis of analyzing the present situation, Suzhou textile has strong core competitiveness and insufficient production capacity. Green trade barriers increase; Independent innovation ability is not high, lack of brand awareness. Analyze the increase of production cost and low added value of products. Considering the problems, it is suggested to enhance the core competitiveness of products and improve production capacity. Reasonably avoid, establish and improve the early warning mechanism of green barrier. Improve brand awareness and independent innovation ability. Countermeasures and suggestions for the government to increase subsidies and improve the added value of products. Facing this situation, Suzhou municipal government, Suzhou Textile Industry and Suzhou textile enterprises need to actively respond and adjust their strategies in order to remain invincible in trade.

Abstract:This article discusses the challenges and prospects in the national textile industry. As an important industry in economic development, the textile industry needs regulatory support and strategic policies to overcome several upstream and downstream obstacles. From the upstream industry, TPT includes the fiber industry, spinning, and yarn, knitting, stamping, and finishing, while downstream, it includes the apparel industry. Through the right policies, the textile industry is expected to be able to absorb labor, support national economic growth, and realize clothing resilience. This research uses empirical juridical research methods through tracing and studying secondary data in the form of laws and regulations, academic manuscripts, policy recommendations, and scientific papers of experts in the cybersecurity and empowerment of the small and medium enterprises sector. Secondary data are obtained through Library Research from printed and electronic library materials. Doctrinal research is needed to understand the legal norms that are currently in force (Law in the Book) through a statute approach and a conceptual approach (Conceptual Approach). The results showed that some of the obstacles to the textile industry include limited transportation and electricity infrastructure, low quality of human resources, and access to financing, which is still narrow. For this reason, regulations and policies are needed to guarantee the financing of the textile industry, as well as innovation support for research institutions and related institutional cooperation—notably the Indonesia Central Bank (B.I.) and Financial Services Authority.

Abstract:Based on statistical datas, the article analyses and evaluates the developmental situation of China textile economy 2002 to 2003. It presents that China textile industry has an obviously increase, a record export and a good economic performance, but it exists some problems such as export price decreasing obvionsly, state enterprises′ having heavy shoulder, internal price of raw material isn′t steady and international trade meeting with attack. It forecasts the trend of international trade and increasing needs, gives the developmental thoughts to raise trade technology.
