Abstract:One of the important problems in the development of techniques for the semantic Web is the mapping of ontologies. Indeed,the Web is constituted by a variety of information sources,each expressed over a certain ontology-In order to share the information among such sources, their semantic mapping is required- In this paper, first we discuss the three integration architectures. Then we refer to the taxonomy which is presented by E- Ramh.and apply to summarize various major ontology mapping approaches. At last. we compare four typical mapping approaches following the criteria,and conclude that the combination of the individual matchers is a promising direction.
A Semantic Mapping System for Bridging the Gap between Relational Database and Semantic Web

Abstract:Recently, there has been a growing need for integrating legacy relational databases with semantic web ontologies, however, experience in building such applications has re- vealed a gap between semantic web languages and relational data model. We present a formal mapping system to bridge the gap and study the problem of reasoning and query answer- ing using view underlying the mapping system. Particularly, we consider a special mapping called "constraint mapping" between database integrity constraints and OWL axioms. We then propose an approach to incorporating these OWL ax- ioms and description logic reasoning into query rewriting us- ing views to enable the algorithm to answer more types of queries. The approach has been used to develop a pilot data integration application for neuroscience community.
A Comparative Study on Three Ontology Mapping Methods in the Integration of Product Knowledge

Abstract:With the growing access to heterogeneous and independent product data repositories, the treatment of differences in the structure and semantics of the data plays a major role in product knowledge systems. Recent research has used ontology as the knowledge base that describes concepts. For the great variation both in the level of detail and logic of different ontology representations, an integration process is needed. Comparing conception is a basic operation in the process. This paper has introduced three individual mapping methods on conception compare - Affix, Edit Distance and Synonym (WordNet). To evaluate their actual effects, a product ontology mapping task has applied these methods. Comparative study on the experiment results shows that each method has some disadvantages and can not complete the mapping task independently. To achieve better effect, it is necessary to improve the performance of the individual methods and combine their mapping results.

Abstract:The difficulty of data integration is how to solve the problem of heterogeneous semantics. Using ontology's advantage in semantic integration, this paper designs a data integration frame based on ontology semantic mapping. According to the definition and structure of the ontology concepts, an ontology semantic mapping algorithm is given, which confirms the concepts' semantic relationship by a comparison between attribute sets, and takes the semantic information of concept names, attributes and correlative concepts into account when the similarity degree is computed. Finally, the ontology semantic mapping is determined by the mapping algorithm of the concepts' attribute sets and the concepts' mapping algorithm. Therefore the problem of semantic mapping in data integration is solved properly.

Abstract:XML is becoming the standard of exchange and translation between heterogeneous data on the Web because of its flexible and expendable in structure,but different XML data sources belong to different XML schema can hardly complete interoperability,which makes inconvenience for XML searches.A mapping algorithm is provided to map XML schema to OWL ontology in this paper,then a way for realizing integration among these ontologies is given by a shared global ontology and a thesaurus to resolve this structure heterogeneous problem,based on which a frame of semantic query XML data is supplied and elementarily realized.
Mutual Enhancement of Schema Mapping and Data Mapping

Abstract:Schema mapping and data mapping have been two topics widely studied in traditional database related communities. Recently, with the rising interest in the semantical web, the tasks of integrating heterogeneous information sources, both in a schema and a data instance level, are becoming of more practical importance. Current efforts at resolving these two mapping tasks have been carried out separately. In this paper, we propose a new method that simultaneously attacks these two tasks and achieves a kind of mutual enhancement between them. By applying our method to a movie-hunting scenario, we show that precision and recall are both quite high. Our method works well when dealing with numerical-valued attributes. We also show that this method is especially appealing from a semantic web perspective, given its assets of being relatively lightweight and easy to extend.

Abstract:Traditional tightly-coupled integration method was devoid of sufficient scalability and semantic representation.To solve the problem,a semantic model construction method was proposed which was used as the substitute for global schema in traditional process.Resource Description Framework(RDF) and RDF Schema(RDFS) were served as the base for semantic model construction to implement the formal description of semantic relationship.Two-layer mapping method between heterogeneous relation data and the semantic model was adopted to guarantee the transparency access for the heterogeneous data and the scalability of the model.The semantic model has been applied in practice and proved to be effective in building the semantic-consistent global data view.

Abstract:Schema mapping is an important approach to solve the problem of data integration. This paper introduces a research prototype called SDE, which is a system for managing and facilitating the complex tasks of heterogeneous data transformation and integration. We also present a data transformation method based on schema mapping techniques. By analyzing the mappings and schemas it can automatically fulfill the task of data transformation and guarantee that the target result satisfies the target structure and constraints. It allows users to view the other participants’ information as an extension of its own information system, without concerning for heterogeneity.

Abstract:Ontology building and mapping technology is mainly for the elimination of the semantic heterogeneity of heterogeneous data sources and is the foundation to realize the heterogeneous data semantic analytical.Based on the existing research results of bus framework for enterprise information integration and aiming at the existing problems of ontology building process,this paper puts forward global ontology building technology based on the sharing glossary and local ontology building technology based on UML,which makes the relationship of constructing ontology element become more accurate,complete and with good consistency.Also it simplifies the process of building ontology workload.And the ontology mapping strategies based on comprehensive similarity is proposed,the integrated similarity is calculated from four aspects:concept name,structure,property,instance,which greatly improves the ontology mapping precision.

Abstract:With the ever growing need of semantically linking data across different domain, organizational and diplomacy boundaries using RDF and OWL, one of the major obstacles impeding the advancement of Semantic Web is the data availability. This paper presents a browser-based semantic mapping tool for converting linked data on the Web to be available for Semantic Web applications. It is aiming at helping users define semantic mapping from relational databases to RDF schemas. This tool provides much easy-to-use functionality to facilitate users in this definition work, such as drag-and-drop mapping, visualization mapping, data source annotation, database server independent, standard mapping language and shared ontology management.

Abstract:Deep web data integration needs to do schema matching on web query interfaces and obtain the mapping table.By introducing semantic conflicts into web query interface integration and discussing the origins and categories of the semantic conflicts, an ontology-based schema matching method is proposed. The process of the method is explained in detail using the example of web query interface integration in house domain. Conflicts can be detected automatically by checking semantic relevance degree, then the categories of the conflicts are identified and messages are sent to the conflict solver, which eliminates the conflicts and obtains the mapping table using conflict solving rules. The proposed method is simple, easy to implement and can be flexibly reused by extending the ontology to different domains.

Abstract:The purpose of semantic information integration,which is the main means at present to screen the semi-structured,heterogeneous and distributed data,is to provide users with the maximum range of precise data to use.In this paper,in order to solve the semantic conflict in information integration,we use ontology to describe global data concept,use tree structure to describe local data concept,and on this basis,we present the logic definition method of the data,use the calculated similarity matching values to realise semantic integration data matching,and define the description of mapping algorithm in semantic information integration.In end of the article,we give the experimental data and the implementation results of the algorithm,which verify the correctness of the method.

Abstract:This paper built a set of structure mapping rules and semantic mapping rules according to the definition of elements and the nested relation between elements in XML schema. A new mapping method based on these mapping rules was proposed to transform XML Schema to relational schemata. Furthermore, the relational schemata mapped from XML Schema were proved in 4NF. The results indicate that the relational schemata not only contain all the information of structure and content in XML Schema, but also preserve most of the semantic constraints and reduce storage redundancy.

Abstract:Based on a discussion of data understanding hierarchy, this paper reviews a state of the art of existing enterprise information integration solutions from semantic perspective. We divide existing approaches into three categories: programming semantic-based integration, syntax schema-based integration, and declarative semantic-based Integration, and evaluate the approaches in each category by comparing the method used to describe and explain the data, and the topology structure of the data connected. Based on the results of our analysis we summarize the state-of-the-art in semantic enterprise information integration and give the tendencies of further research.
