Abstract:Product style is an essential factor in product development and product family design that has the potential to bring significant benefits. With advancements in artificial intelligence and biometric technology， there have been notable changes in people’s perception of product style and the intelligent generation method of product style. However， a comprehensive discussion on the complete evolution and future trend of this area has yet to be achieved. In this regard， we conducted a systematic review of 427 publications and identified 67 core documents in the field from 2000 to the present. The aim was to provide a basic understanding and exploration of product style research from four dimensions: Product design style cognition and measurement， product design style calculation， product design style aesthetic evaluation， and product design style market design. Furthermore， we analyzed the development of key technologies in four stages， including cognition and measurement technology of product stylized design thinking， the knowledge extraction and expression technology of product stylized conceptual design， generation， evolution of product stylized conceptual design， and intelligent optimization and evaluation of product stylized conceptual design. We also identified research hotspots and future development directions of product style calculation from four aspects of product stylized design driven by swarm intelligence collaborative innovation and cloud intelligent design platform led by AIGC， Chinese style intelligent cultural creative product design， Product stylization innovative design ecology，providing a theoretical basis for product style calculation research.

Abstract:The paper first summarized the methods of product style design. Based on the summary, a style recognition and design technique based on style module is presented. In this technique, the constraints between im-style feature lines and style feature lines are defined. A method of the imprecise concept creating technology based on product style feature lines and constraints is also developed. As a prototype, the computer-aided conceptual design system based on product style module recognition model is implemented, which offer the decision making tools to designers and customers. The proposed prototype usescar design for instance to verify the practicability and correctness of the methods in this paper.

Abstract:In this paper,Style is looked as a breakthrough of reveal the relation of perception requirement of user and design elements.A systematic method is used to analysis the connotation of style,including the functions of style,the structure of style and components of style,which are the theory bases of style description.Based on the idea of kansei design,maps of different spaces in style design are constructed.With application of the kansei engineering,fuzzy set theory and semantic diffe￣rence method,the process of modeling of style description and framework of style description are discussed.The mathematic(express) of style,evaluation algorithm of class style and subclass style,calculation of similarity of different style and that of(identification) of product style are proposed.The style class and operation by the object oriented method are presented,the(application) paradigm of style description model in the process shape design for style is discussed.

Abstract:Why are the product design of the Apple Inc. are so successful in the dog-eat-dog market? One of the most important reasons is that the mental imageries of product user experience design of Apple Inc. are close to the user's expectant material mental imageries.In this study, we want to gain the main mental imageries of information product materials user experience design of the target users(18-28 years old university students or the recent graduates in the east of China) in the near future of the next 1-2 years. We used Culture Scan, Contextual Inquiry, Semantic Differential Method, and the Coordinate of Mental Imagery to study. We discovered that the main mental imageries of information product materials user experience design of the target users in the near future of the next 1-2 years are high-technological and fashionable. We built a bridge from the the material mental imagery of the user to the material mental imagery of the designer. The actual demand of the consumers could be more easily understood by the company.

Abstract:A style description method for product form design was introduced. Designers, as designated 'formgivers', are expected to understand the essence of formal styles and the skill of giving sensitive, intentional style to the artwork. The essence of formal style, including its definition, function, structure and components was introduced and a style description method for product form design was proposed. Through semantic differential analysis, factor analysis, multidimensional scaling analysis and morphological analysis, the relationships between each style and formal element was discussed.

Abstract:Based on the modern design theory, the product design style is the subjective feeling of the product's whole form, and its research and classification depend on the user's sensibility evaluation.But for a long time, the emphasis of style quantification has focused on the relationship between user evaluation and design form elements, but seldom consider the influence of user cognition on perceptual evaluation, so it limits the validity and scope of application of such correlation model.Therefore, based on the research approach of cognitive theory, this paper puts forward the hypothesis and the influence of association and Recognition cognitive process on the evaluation of product design style, and takes a group of modernist products as an example to carry on the empirical research.Based on the research approach of cognitive theory, this paper uses statistical methods, puts forward hypotheses, and conducts empirical research on the impact of cognitive processes such as association and recognition on product design style evaluation, taking machine aesthetic design style as an example.The results show that Lenovo has a great influence on the style evaluation of products, and its influence comes from the expressive dimension of design style; There is no significant correlation between recognition and product design style evaluation, but only has a weak impact on some single observation variables.In addition, the results of exploratory factor analysis (EFA) on the experimental scale show that there are two potential evaluation dimensions when users evaluate the machine aesthetic style.

Abstract:The Kansei image-driven design method of product styling is presented to satisfy the consumers' psychological Kansei image-demands better. At first, the typical product samples are sorted out; then, Kansei image preference for the category of product is extracted. Second, the corresponding relationship between consumers' psychological Kansei image and the design elements of product styling is acquired. Third, the image evaluating pattern based on neural network is constructed; and then, the design pattern of the product styling based on genetic algorithm is constructed. It can automatically reason out the concept styling, which will satisfy consumers' image demands. Finally, the colour design of MP3 is examined, and the verification of the method is certified.

Abstract:This paper did research on computer-aided Clothing color design. A Style-driven clothing color design method was presented, which realized the emotional design of clothing color. A style clothing color database was established, using Color Psychology Theory and Semantics to divide the semantic style space. An original form of the Style-driven clothing color design tools has been established with VC++ tools, and experimental results show that this method is effective to support the color design of costume designer.

Abstract:A new theory and method of creative product evolutionary design based on semantics feature is presented in this paper. The new theory and method is based on the study of evolving principle of design conception and process, which focuses on the innovation and reuse properties, and integrates key technologies for motion evolutionary design, assembly evolutionary design, structure evolutionary design and reuse evolutionary design. Furthermore, the new method was applied successfully on the modeling for some projects, and results showed the utility, flexibility and robust of the new technology.

Abstract:Investigation into eastern and western thinking styles has been a hot-topic in the field of cultural psychology during recent decades. This article focuses on psychological studies on thinking style and analyzes the transition of the investigation routes along with the development of psychological researches. It stresses the contrast between eastern and western thinking styles and the theoretical and empirical analyses of Chinese thinking style. The analysis has great theoretical and practical significance in understanding the influence of Chinese thinking style and in promoting the cultural communication between the east and the west. The article also points out the future direction of thinking style research.

Abstract:Design is a high-level and complex thinking activity of human beings, using existing knowledge and technology to solve problems and create new things. With the rise and development of intelligent manufacturing, design has increasingly reflected its importance in the product life cycle. Firstly, the concept and connotation of complex product design is expounded systematically, and the different types of design are discussed. The four schools of design theory are introduced, including universal design, axiomatic design, TRIZ and general design. Then the research status of complex product design is analyzed, such as innovative design, digital design, modular design, reliability optimization design, etc. Finally, three key scientific issues worthy of research in the future are indicated, and five research trends of “newer, better, smarter, faster, and greener” are summarized, aiming to provide references for the equipment design and manufacturing industry.

Abstract:Apply the techniques of Kansei engineering that regards the consumers as the directions, to take the electronics product MP3 as an example, 35 popular styles were used and investigated, by means of 7 rank semantic distinction quantity forms method, factor analysis, clustering analysis and the method of Partial Least-Square Regression, etc, to explore the relationship between product structure appearance elements, color factor and Kansei image phrase. The study results can guide the followed product design, and this method and conclusion also can be applied at studying the relative product.

Abstract:Design style is an abstraction and reflection of human perception about features across products. It is of importance in art, architectural, fashion, and industrial design. This paper focuses on the understanding of shape style represented by form features and explores the influence of form features on a style by the topological structure and geometric variation. The relationship between the geometry of the form feature and the style it characterised is analysized in terms of a number of remodelling processes of typical product shape chosen. Even though the influence of feature geometry on design style have been analysed based on two groups of objects, the essence explored could be applicable for the understanding of design style in a broad sense. The results of the present paper may help to the development of an advanced styling tool for product form giving and shape sculpting in industrial design. Abstract:Product is a platform with which the companies and the consumers communicate with each other. The product style contains two kind of information - one from the companies and the other from the consumers side. Product style map is an effective tool for product strategy planning. In this study, word processing technology was firstly investigated including methods of new words identification, words semantic measurement, and new words explanation. Consequentially, Product Style Keywords Map was produced with the fore mentioned technology, dynamic SOM model was adopted to cluster the product style keywords. A visualization and interaction structure was set up based on Flex technology.

Abstract:Computer Aided product decorative design is one of the significant branches of CAID. The way of expression in the former cases was limited by many conditions, which resulted in prolonged design cycle and low efficiency. This paper started with the aim of satisfying the demands of clients, offered a solution and procedure for solving complicated, multi-solution cases, for problems including prolonged design cycle, modification of cases, evaluation and decision-making with the purpose of obtaining the decorative design scheme which will satisfy the clients to the highest degree. Abstract:Considering that industrial design (ID) processes are full of fuzzy, uncertain, dynamic and changing information, the traditional computer aided methods cannot work well. Based on ID, fuzzy theory, and aesthetics principles, the authors discuss the idea of driving the design process by semantics words. In the process, they attain customers’ performance in term of semantics words, built some fuzzy evaluation models covering shape and color aesthetics rules, and associated aesthetics rules, to analysis the products’ appearance design style. Semantic words drive the design process and carry through the whole process to reinforce the design objective. In the paper, the authors place emphasis on how to formalize products’ shape features and how to process semantic words; also, they discuss the whole design process by the designed style driving method. The method has already been implemented in a machine tools CAID software system.

Abstract:This paper analyzes the application methods and techniques of elements of regional culture acting as product semantic elements in the product design process, and uses design knowledge to build models as well as the concept of application to investigate and record regional cultures. Then combined with product semantics, this paper abstracts the analysis on available semantic elements in the regional cultures. Directed towards the abstracted cultural elements, this paper classifies its properties and establishes cultural semantic elements base.
