Abstract:silica and cadmium sulfide core-shell nanostructure particles were fabricated by chemical bath deposition (CBD) method on mono-disperse silica sphere templates. With the change of the reaction condition, the grain sizes of cadmium sulfide and the ratio of core to shell varied. And the absorption and photoluminescence peaks blue-shifted with the decrease of cadmium sulfide grain sizes. It was contributed to quantum size effect that caused the blue-shifted of the smaller grains of cadmium sulfide.
