Abstract:Objective To investigate the lacrimal fluid after conjuctivochalasis surgery.Methods A total 32 eyes of 29 conjunctivochalasis patients were enrolled in this study.Each eye had received the redundant conjunctiva operation.The evaluation was based on:symptons of patients,slit lamp examination,observation of tear meniscus,Schirmer I test,tear break-up time(BUT),Ocular surface fluorescence staining,and tear clearance rate(TCR).All the examinations were performed in the preoperative and postoperative three months.Results 29 eyes(90.63%)had improved symptoms.The hight of tears river in 28 eyes(87.5%)return to normal.There was no significant differences(P>0.05)between Schirmer I tests results before and after surgery.BUT and ocular surface fluorescence staining scores were significantly improved after the operation compared with that before the operation(P<0.05),fluorescent-clearance pilot returned to normal in 31 eyes(96.88%).Conclusion This study suggested that resection of unnecessary conjunctival organizations is very effective in resolving patients complaints and improving tear dynamics in conjunctivochalasis with dry eye.
