Abstract:Objective: To observe the pathological changes in the skin and other organs of snthr-1Bao mouse. Methods: The organs including the heart, liver, spleen, lung, kidney, brain, lymph node, thymus, intestine and Peyer's patch of 2-month-old mice, the testis, epididymis, ovary and uterus at the age of 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 weeks, and the skin tissue between scapulae of mice at the age of embryonic 18.5d, postnatal 1 day, 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month and 2 months were taken and treated with the routine methods of paraffin section and observed under microscopy. Dorsal hair was hocked for SEM observation. snthr-1Bao mice were the experimental group controlled with its background strain DBA/2J. Results: No pathological changes were found in the checked organs of snthr-1Bao mouse except the skin. The pathological changes in the skin were initiated between 1 and 2 week and exhibited acanthosis, hyper-keratosis and structural disfigurements in some hair as primary affections. The following pathological changes included hair curling, broken, impairment in the skin and local noninfective inflammation which resulted in scarring. Hair scale edge looked a little bit coarse under SEM. Conclusion: For the snthr-1Bao mouse, the skin is the only organ showing dominant pathological changes which start during 1 to 2 weeks.
