Abstract:AIM: To understand the incidence rate and influential factor of sub-health status of Changsha teachers, point out the health problems at present and propose some improved advices. METHODS: 3 213 teachers, who were checked up and excepted organic disease in Health Examination Administration of Third Xiangya Hospital in Changsha from May 2003 to May 2006, were selected. Self-fill-in questionnaire named Cornell Medical Index was adopted as evaluation standard, which authorized by Wolff HG and Brodman R in Cornell University. That questionnaire included 195 questions divided into 18 parts. Each question only had "Yes" (record 1 point) or " No" (record 0 point) one answer and the all scores were Cornell Medical Index. To diagnose sub-health must be combined with the positive result of Cornell Medical Index and multimedia micro-diagnostic apparatus. The grading of sub-health was based on Cornell Medical Index. The risk factors of investigation questionnaire were distributed to the teachers who were diagnosed as sub-health. Twenty-four risk factors were age, sex, school, educational background, smoking, drinking, work environment, the favorite of work, work time, the competence with the work, the achievement of work, the pressure of work, the attitude of problem, the relationship with colleague, friend, the satisfaction of life, house, the harmony of family, physical exercise, hour of sleep, balanced diet, the time of entertainment, sex life, worry about the study and employment of child. RESULTS: ①There were 808 (25.15%) complete health and 2 405 (74.85%) sub-health teachers in 3 213. The incidence mild, moderate and severe sub-health were 899 (37.38%), 1 309 (54.43%) and 197 (8.19%), respectively. ②30-40 years was the highest age phase(80.98%). Rate of females was significantly higher than that of males (78.39%,68.87%,χ 2=31.17,P < 0.01). Incidence rate of college teachers were higher than that of primary school and middle school after normalized by sex. There were no significant differences with educational background (χ 2=3.26,P > 0.05). ③The main influencing factors of sub-health status were age from 30-40 years, be tired of work, being not satisfied with present situation, lack of physical exercise and bad sleep. CONCLUSION: There are no satisfied health statuses on teachers in changsha. The female college teachers aged between 30-40 years have the highest danger with sub-health. Teachers should be paid more attention on sub-health. To avoid sub-health status, the main measures are the positive mood and physical exercise and so on.
