Abstract:Various factors including temperature, heating time, and water addition ratio were investigated to optimize the hydrothermal process (HP) of restaurant waste. A U_ 24 (6~3) uniform experimental design was used to analyze the HP impact on the reducing sugar, organics contents, and the total energy in the product. Furthermore, the influencing mechanics was investigated by using a complete trial with 2 factors on 5 levels. The results show that increased temperatures have the greatest effect on the reducing sugar and organics in the treated wastes with heating time and water addition ratio having less effect. The most effective factor for increasing the total energy of the product is the water addition ratio. The optimal conditions for the hydrothermal process are 120℃, 80 min heating, and a 50% water addition ratio. Increases in temperature and heating time reduce the product pH and the reducing sugar content while increasing the soluble organic content and improving the dewaterability with small changes in the total organics content and the total energy. The hydrothermal processing greatly influences the trophic structure and the dewaterability of the wastes.
