Abstract:In this short note we propose a novel fuzzy complement functional. This functional is different from other functionals known in the literature. However, it turns out to be an alternative characterization of the well-known negation function.

Abstract:The paper studies complementary choice functions, i.e. monotonic and consistent choice functions. Such choice functions were introduced and used in the work \cite{RY} for investigation of matchings with complementary contracts. Three (universal) ways of constructing such functions are given: through pre-topologies, as direct images of completely complementary (or pre-ordered) choice functions, and with the help of supermodular set-functions.

Abstract:In this paper, we apply a class of fuzzy modifiers based on fuzzy relations in description logics (DLs) to represent complex imprecise and incomplete knowledge. We investigate how to introduce the fuzzy modifiers into a fuzzy description logic ALC. The fuzzy description logic ALC with the fuzzy modifiers, called FALCM in the paper, has a more expressive capacity to represent imprecise and incomplete knowledge. At last, we give the reasoning algorithms for the satisfiability of FALCM concepts.

Abstract:The notion of the fuzzy set was incorporated into geometric function theory in recent years, leading to the emergence of fuzzy differential subordination theory, which is a generalization of the classical differential subordination notion. This article employs a new integral operator introduced using the class of meromorphic functions, the notion of convolution, and the Hurwitz–Lerch Zeta function for obtaining new fuzzy differential subordination results. Furthermore, the best fuzzy dominants are provided for each of the fuzzy differential subordinations investigated. The results presented enhance the approach to fuzzy differential subordination theory by giving new results involving operators in the study, for which starlikeness and convexity properties are revealed using the fuzzy differential subordination theory.

Abstract:The concept of subordination is expanded in this study from the fuzzy sets theory to the geometry theory of analytic functions with a single complex variable. This work aims to clarify fuzzy subordination as a notion and demonstrate its primary attributes. With this work's assistance, new fuzzy differential subordinations will be presented. The first theorems lead to intriguing corollaries for specific aspects chosen to exhibit fuzzy best dominance. The work introduces a new integral operator for meromorphic functions and uses the newly developed integral operator, which is starlike and convex, respectively, to obtain conclusions on fuzzy differential subordination.

Abstract:Fuzzy implications continue to remain an important class among the fuzzy logic connectives, having found utility in contexts outside of logical inference too. Recently, fuzzy implications have been shown to be a fertile source for obtaining distance functions with very beneficial properties. In this work, we show that fuzzy implications can also be a good wellspring of fuzzy compatibility relations with myriad properties. Quite interestingly, the converse also holds good, i.e., we also show that we can represent any fuzzy implication through a pair ( d,E ), where d is a distance function - called a pseudo-monometric - and E is a mono-similarity fuzzy relation. This representation helps us to propose an equivalent formulation of the problem of characterisation of QL-implications, that has the potential to offer computational savings in verifying if a QL-operation can be a QL-implication and also throws open further avenues of fruitful theoretical exploration.

Abstract:In this paper, we present two new classes of fuzzy negations. They are an extension of a well-known class of fuzzy negations, the Sugeno Class. We use it as a base for our work for the first two construction methods. The first method generates rational fuzzy negations, where we use a second-degree polynomial with two parameters. We investigate which of these two conditions must be satisfied to be a fuzzy negation. In the second method, we use an increasing function instead of the parameter δ of the Sugeno class. In this method, using an arbitrary increasing function with specific conditions, fuzzy negations are produced, not just rational ones. Moreover, we compare the equilibrium points of the produced fuzzy negation of the first method and the Sugeno class. We use the equilibrium point to present a novel method which produces strong fuzzy negations by using two decreasing functions which satisfy specific conditions. We also investigate the convexity of the new fuzzy negation. We give some conditions that coefficients of fuzzy negation of the first method must satisfy in order to be convex. We present some examples of the new fuzzy negations, and we use them to generate new non-symmetric fuzzy implications by using well-known production methods of non-symmetric fuzzy implications. We use convex fuzzy negations as decreasing functions to construct an Archimedean copula. Finally, we investigate the quadratic form of the copula and the conditions that the coefficients of the first method and the increasing function of the second method must satisfy in order to generate new copulas of this form.

The FA Quantifier Fuzzification Mechanism: analysis of convergence and efficient implementations

Abstract:The fuzzy quantification model FA has been identified as one of the best behaved quantification models in several revisions of the field of fuzzy quantification. This model is, to our knowledge, the unique one fulfilling the strict Determiner Fuzzification Scheme axiomatic framework that does not induce the standard min and max operators. The main contribution of this paper is the proof of a convergence result that links this quantification model with the Zadeh's model when the size of the input sets tends to infinite. The convergence proof is, in any case, more general than the convergence to the Zadeh's model, being applicable to any quantitative quantifier. In addition, recent revisions papers have presented some doubts about the existence of suitable computational implementations to evaluate the FA model in practical applications. In order to prove that this model is not only a theoretical approach, we show exact algorithmic solutions for the most common linguistic quantifiers as well as an approximate implementation by means of Monte Carlo. Additionally, we will also give a general overview of the main properties fulfilled by the FA model, as a single compendium integrating the whole set of properties fulfilled by it has not been previously published.

Abstract:Thangaraj and Balasubramanian introduced the so-called somewhat fuzzy semicontinuous and somewhat fuzzy semiopen functions. Two years later, the same authors defined two other types of functions called somewhat fuzzy continuous and somewhat fuzzy open without indicating connections between them. At first glance, we may easily conclude (from their definitions) that every somewhat fuzzy continuous (resp. open) function is somewhat fuzzy semicontinuous (resp. semiopen) but not conversely. In this note, we show that they are equivalent. We further prove that somewhat fuzzy continuous functions are weaker than fuzzy semicontinuous functions.

Abstract:In this paper, we characterize complementable operators and provide more precise expressions for the Schur complement of these operators using a single Douglas solution. We demonstrate the existence of subspaces where the given operator is invariably complementable. Additionally, we investigate the range-Hermitian property of these operators.

Abstract:n-Dimensional fuzzy sets is a fuzzy set extension where the membership values are n-tuples of real numbers in the unit interval [0,1] orderly increased, called n-dimensional intervals. The set of n-dimensional intervals is denoted by Ln([0,1]). This paper aims to investigate a special extension from [0,1] - n-representable fuzzy negations on Ln([0,1]), summarizing the class of such functions which are continuous and monotone by part. The main properties of (strong) fuzzy negations on [0,1] are preserved by representable (strong) fuzzy negation on Ln([0,1]), mainly related to the analysis of degenerate elements and equilibrium points. The conjugate obtained by action of an n-dimensional automorphism on an $n$-dimensional fuzzy negation provides a method to obtain other n-dimensional fuzzy negation, in which properties such as representability, continuity and monotonicity on Ln([0,1]) are preserved.

Abstract:In this paper, two construction methods for fuzzy negations on bounded structures are presented. The first method focuses on lifting a fuzzy negation from a more general subposet to the complete lattice, extending the existing research. It provides an effective approach to lift fuzzy negations, even when the top and bottom elements of the subposet differ from those of the complete lattice. The second method explores the generalized ordinal sum of negations on an abelian partially ordered group, achieved by complementing a given fuzzy negation. A sufficient and necessary condition for the generalized ordinal sum, with a familiar fuzzy negation as the complement, to be a fuzzy negation is given. Building upon this, the paper introduces a supplementary fuzzy negation based on the provided family of subintervals, which guarantees that the generalized ordinal sum is still a fuzzy negation.

Abstract:The aim of this article is to propose a new definition of fuzzy fractional derivative, so-called fuzzy conformable. To this end, we discussed fuzzy conformable fractional integral softly. Meanwhile, uniqueness, existence, and other properties of solutions of certain fuzzy conformable fractional differential equations under strongly generalized differentiability are also utilized. Furthermore, all needed requirements for characterizing solutions by equivalent systems of crisp conformable fractional differential equations are debated. In this orientation, modern trend and new computational algorithm in terms of analytic and approximate conformable solutions are proposed. Finally, the reproducing kernel Hilbert space method in the conformable emotion is constructed side by side with numerical results, tabulated data, and graphical representations.

Abstract:We present an argument for revising the theory of alternatives for Scalar Implicatures and for Association with Focus. We argue that in both cases the alternatives are determined in the same way, as a contextual restriction of the focus value of the sentence, which, in turn, is defined in structure-sensitive terms. We provide evidence that contextual restriction is subject to a constraint that prevents it from discriminating between alternatives when they stand in a particular logical relationship with the assertion or the prejacent, a relationship that we refer to as symmetry. Due to this constraint on contextual restriction, discriminating between alternatives in cases of symmetry becomes the task of focus values. This conclusion is incompatible with standard type-theoretic definitions of focus values, motivating our structure-sensitive definition instead.

Abstract:The concepts of a fuzzy connected set (fc set) and a fuzzy consistently connected set (fcc set) are introduced on fuzzy posets, along with a discussion of their basic properties. Inspired by some equivalent conditions of crisp connected sets, the characterizations of the fc sets are given, and we also explore fuzzy completeness and fuzzy compactness in addition to defining a new fuzzy way-below relation based on fcc complete sets. Using this relationship as a basis, the fcc domain is also provided and studied, and its equivalent characterizations are obtained. In summary, we develop a method to establish fcc completeness from a continuous poset.

Abstract:Based on the fuzzy relational databases where fuzziness of data appears in attribute values in forms of possibility attributions as well as proximity relations in attribute domain elements, called extended possibility-based fuzzy relational databases, a notion of semantic equivalence of fuzzy data is introduced in this paper. Following this notion, we will focus on the issues of fuzzy functional dependencies (FFDs). A set of sound inference rules, which are similar to Armstrong's axioms for classical cases, for fuzzy functional dependencies are proposed.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce a notion of complex compact intervals on which Minkowski addition and scalar multiplication operators are well defined to form the space of complex fuzzy numbers whose α -cuts are complex intervals. Some basic fuzzy partial ordering relations among the complex numbers with " ≤C ", the complex intervals with "≪", the complex fuzzy numbers with " ⪯C ̃ " and the discrete fuzzy complex-valued functions with ≲ are studied. Based on these fundamental properties, we introduce a concept of Caputo fractional sum and difference for the discrete fuzzy complex-valued functions and establish some of their basic results. Moreover, by introducing the complex monotone iterative technique combined with the method of upper and lower solutions, the existence of extremal solutions for discrete complex fuzzy Caputo fractional difference equations is investigated. In each section, several examples are presented to show the feasibility of our obtained results.
