Abstract:Two polysubstituted biphenyl compounds were synthesized from ellagic acid.Using NMR techniques including HMQC,HMBC and 1D NOE techniques,the 13C and1H NMR chemical shifts of the two product compounds were assigned.

Abstract:A 4-O-5-tetramer lignin model compound carrying beta-O-4 linkages on each Of the side-chain Moieties was synthesized, as well as 4-O-5-coupled dehydrodiconiferyl alcohol. By comparison with theiriNMR,data, two cross signals in the HSQC spectrum Of pane milled wood lignin recorded in DMSO-d(6) were assigned-to H2/C2 and H6/C6 correlations on the aromatic rings of 4-O-5-linke.d units; Although the H2/C2 correlation peak- appeared in the same region as syringyl units, nitrobenzene-oxidation of "the pine lignin did not yield any syringyl-type product, but did release a 4-O-5-type product.

Abstract:1H-NMR and13C-NMR assignments of 12-oleanene-3,11-dione (compound 1) were completely described for the first time through conventional 1D NMR and 2D shift-correlated NMR experiments using1H-1HCOSY, HMQC, HMBC techniques. Based on its NMR data, the assignments of 28-hydroxyolean-12-ene-3,11-dione (compound 2) were partially revised.

Abstract:Two neolgnans were isolated from the bark of Hydnocarpus annamensis. Their Structures were elucidated using high-resolution ESI mass spectrometry and NMR Spectroscopy. The proton and carbon chemical shifts of the two compunds was assigned using 2D NMR experiments, including HSQC,HMBC, DQF-COSY and NOESY.The results of caplillary electrophoresis (CE) analysis demonstrated that the two compounds are racemates.

Abstract:Three alkaloids, Evodiamine, Rutaecarpine and Dehydroevodiamine, were isolated fromthe fruits of Evndia rutaecarpa (Juss) var. bodinaieri (Dode) Huang. Abstract:Two novel angular-type furanocoumarin glycosides, peucedanoside A (1) and peucedanoside B (2), along with a known compound apterin (3), were isolated from the roots of Peucedanum praeruptorum Dunn. Their chemical structures were determined by MS, NMR spectroscopy and chemical analysis. Abstract:A combination of 1D and 2D NMR techniques, including HMQC, HSQC, 1H-1H COSY and HMBC, was used to provide completely assigned 1H and 13C NMR data for the structures of three 3-[substituted methylidene]-1H,3H-naphtho[1,8-cd]-pyran-1-ones—3-[(4-methoxyphenyl)methylidene]-1H,3H-naphtho[1,8-cd]-pyran-1-one, 3-[(4-fluorophenyl)methylidene]-1H,3H-naphtho-[1,8-cd]-pyran-1-one and 3-[(thiophen-3-yl)methylidene]-1H,3H-naphtho[1,8-cd]-pyran-1-one. The heteronuclear coupling constants 1–4JCF and 3–4JHF were correspondingly determined. Additionally, IR and Raman spectral data were provided in support of the assigned structures.

Abstract:Two new dibenzocyclooctadiene lignans, named kadoblongifolins A (1)and B (2), and one new natural product dibenzocyclooctadiene lignan, named kadoblongifolin C (3), were isolated from the stems of Kadsura oblongifolia (K. oblongifolia), together with five known ones, schizanrin F (4), propinquanin C (5), schisantherin G (6), heteroclitin Q (7), kadsurarin (8). Abstract:Pure alterporriol I, together with 13 known altersolanol-type compounds and alterporriols, was isolated from a culture broth of the marine-derived fungus Pleospora sp. The NMR data of alterporriol I were completely assigned on the basis of 1D and 2D NMR spectral analysis, and its stereochemistry was determined from the CD spectrum. Other known compounds were identified by comparison of their spectra with those reported. Alterporriol I showed good inhibitory activity against methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MIC 0.5 μg/mL) and S. epidermidis (MIC 8 μg/mL).

Abstract:Chrysanthemum indicum L. is a Chinese traditional drug used for antifebrile, detoxication and hypotensive purposes. In continuation of our efforts to search for the active principles of this species, a new sesquiterpene compound, named chrysanthetriol was isolated from the more polar fraction of the title plant. Chrysanthetriol is a colorless oil, [alpha]D20-31.8 degrees (c 0.3, MeOH). HRMS showed the molecular formula to be C15H26O3. The structure and stereochemistry of chrysanthtriol was elucidated as I by the use of 1H-1H COSY, 1H-13C COSY, 1H-13C COLOC 2D NMR spectroscopy.
