Preparation of Oxidation Catalyst with Thin - Shell and Its Performance

Abstract:Preparation of thin-shell catalyst,on which Pt covered on surface of α-Al_2O_3 grain,was investigated.Performance of catalyst for interstage oxidation of hydrogen in ethyl-benzene dehydrogenation was also studied.Precipitation procedure of manufacturing catalyst was simple and in this process thickness of Pt layer could be adjusted from 0.022 7~0.228 4mm by controlling precipitator content.Under reaction temperature(580℃),selectivity of oxygen in oxidation of hydrogen on thinshell catalyst increased about 2%,and loss of aromatics was about 80% less comparing with catalyst of uniform Pt distribution.Selectivity and stability of(thin-)shell catalyst were all good because reaction heat could rapidly be removed from the catalyst.
