Abstract:The title compound, (1R,2R)-(−)-1,2-[N(H)=C(Ph)N(H)]2-C6H10, C20H24N4, was prepared and its structure determined. The molecule has two N—C—N fragments which are twisted out of the phenyl planes. The single and double C—N bonds are essentially localized.

Abstract:The title compound [systematic name: 1-(7-isopropyl-1,4a-dimethyl-1,2,3,4,4a,9,10,10a-octahydrophenanthren-1-ylmeth- yl)-4,5-diphenyl-1H-imidazole], C35H40N2, was obtained via the one-pot three-component condensation of benzil, formaldehyde and dehydroabietylamine, which is a fungal toxin. The two substituent phenyl groups and the imidazole ring form a conjugated system. The dihedral angles between the imidazole ring and the phenyl rings are 70.18 (9) and 12.77 (12)degrees. In the crystal structure, there are one intramolecular and two intermolecular hydrogen-bonding C-H center dot center dot center dot pi contacts. Furthermore, a weak C-H center dot center dot center dot N intramolecular hydrogen bond is observed.

Abstract:The title compound {4-[2-(9-hexyl-9H-carbazol-3-yl)vinyl]phenyl} dimethylamine has been synthesized by the well known Wittig reaction, and its crystal structure was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. It crystallizes in monoclinic, space group P2(1)/c with a = 47.87(2), b 10.222(4), c = 9.612(4) angstrom, beta = 92.401(9)degrees, V = 4699(3) angstrom(3), Z = 8, C28H32N2, M-r = 396.56, D-c = 1.121 g/cm(3), F(000) = 1712 and mu(MoKa) = 0.065 mm(-1). The final R and wR are 0.0793 and 0.1983, respectively for 3524 observed reflections with I > 2 sigma(I). In the title compound, the bond lengths are normal, and the crystal is stabilized by Van der Waals' forces.

Abstract:The title compound {4-[2-(9-hexyl-9hexyl-carbazol-3-yl)vinyl]phenyl} dimethylamine has been synthesized by the well known Wittig reaction, and its crystal structure was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Abstract:In the title compound, C14H16ClNO2, the cyclo-hexyl ring has a chair conformation. The dihedral angle between the benzene ring and the mean plane of the four planar C atoms of the cyclo-hexyl ring is 45.2 (3)°. The two carbonyl groups are trans to one another, with an O=C-C=O torsion angle of -137.1 (3)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds forming chains propagating along [001]. A region of disordered electron density, situated near the unit-cell corners, was treated using the SQUEEZE routine in PLATON [Spek (2009 ▶). Acta Cryst. D65, 148-155]. It gave a solvent-accessible void of ca 400 Å(3) for only 21 electrons. It is probably due to traces of the solvent of crystallization and was not taken into account during structure refinement.

Both also show a trans configuration with respect to the C=N double bond. The molecule lies on a crystallographic twofold rotation in a non-centrosymmetric space group. The dihedral angle between the two least-squares planes of the pyridine rings is 56.6 (2)°.

Abstract:The title compound, C22H17NO2, was obtained by the photoreaction of N-methyl-1,8-naphthalenedicarboximide with 1-phenylpropyne. The planar cyclobutene ring makes a dihedral angle of 71.7 (2)degrees with the benzene ring of the 1,2-dihydronaphthalene group. There are intramolecular C-(HO)-O-... hydrogen bonds, and intermolecular C-(HO)-O-... interactions help to stabilize the crystal structure.

Abstract:In the title compound, C(16)H(8)Cl(2)F(2)N(4)O(2)S, the thia-diazole ring makes dihedral angles of 24.94 (14) and 48.11 (14)°, respectively, with the dichloro- and difluoro-substituted benzene rings.
