Abstract:The article analyzed the scientific connotation of the agricultural modernization route with Chinese characteristics from the aspects of its resources constraints,ecological environment,main tasks,institutional improvement,rural operating system,productivity level,technological level,agricultural equipment,human capital,and the international environment.Analyzed the characteristics of China's national conditions and the current state of agricultural development with respects to food production,level of agricultural mechanization,the contribution of agricultural science and technology,agricultural labor productivity and land productivity,market competitiveness,the commercialization of agricultural products,and the increasing of peasant’s income.Then the article systematically summed up six principal contradictions in China's agricultural modernization process,such as the contradictions between agricultural infrastructure needs and the limited financial and social resources,extensive agricultural development and resources constraints,agricultural efficiency and food security,agricultural operating system and industrialization process,science and technology investment and the international competitiveness of agricultural products,as well as contradictions between the quality and demand of peasant human capital.The countermeasures presented include,enhance the agricultural supporting and protective system,advance the construction of rural market and rural socialized service system,promote the agricultural scientific and technological progress and independent innovation,strengthen the innovation of the forms of agricultural operation,and improve human capital in agricultural sector.

Abstract:To realize the four modernizations of industry, agriculture, science and technology, and defense is the goal of China's socialist construction, as the basic industry, agriculture plays an important role in the national economic development. Agricultural mechanization is the main direction of China's agricultural development, mechanized production can save workforce, labor time; however, only some parts of China have currently implemented agricultural mechanization, most areas are still traditional farming agriculture, so it is urgent to accelerate the reform of agricultural machinery research and development and to improve agricultural mechanization in China. This paper describes the main issues in the development of China's agricultural machinery, noting the direction of China's agricultural development; analyzing the development trend of modern agricultural machinery so as to promote the modernization of China's agricultural machinery development.

Abstract:Agricultural mechanization and automation is an important way to realize agricultural modernization and improve agricultural production efficiency. This paper expounds the application status and development path of agricultural mechanization automation. Firstly, the popularization of the mechanization automation technology in agricultural production, the application of major crop production and the application of the technology, facility agriculture and precision agriculture. Secondly, the development path of agricultural mechanization and automation is discussed, including technological innovation and research and development investment, talent training and team building, promotion and demonstration and experience exchange and so on. The article points out that agricultural mechanization and automation is the only way for the future agricultural development, which needs the joint efforts of the government, enterprises and farmers to promote.

Abstract:Developing countries with small-scale agriculture have yet to exploit the untapped potential of agricultural mechanization. This is because of the misconception that mechanization is often seen as unworthy in small-scale agriculture. The purpose of this paper is to examine the development of agricultural mechanization in China and to provide evidence on how smallholder farmers can access agricultural machinery. A narrative approach was employed to conduct an in-depth analysis of the policies, strategies, and trends associated with agricultural mechanization development. The findings showed that: (1) the establishment and development of mechanization for smallholder agriculture is an evolutionary process that strongly opposes leapfrogging (technocratic behavior) and making large jumps; (2) the foundation of mechanization development should rely on a self-reliance system; (3) an appropriate mechanization theory is the key to inducing the rapid growth of mechanization in small-scale agriculture; (4) the successful application of agricultural machinery requires strong, target-oriented, and pro-farmer policies with effective leadership strategies. We present the key lessons on policy and institutional aspects for countries with small-scale agriculture and who are in the initial stages of agricultural mechanization.

Abstract:With the continuous improvement of the level of science and technology, agricultural mechanization can rapidly develop and provide strong support for agricultural mechanization. The rapid popularization of agricultural mechanization of grass-roots agricultural development, maximizing the reduction of the degree of labor of farmers, for the high quality of crop production provides the conditions, but also greatly improve the efficiency of agricultural production. This paper analyzes and discusses the main functions of Kailu County Agricultural Machinery Bureau, and learns about the fulfillment of the functions of Kailu County Agricultural Machinery Bureau by means of a questionnaire. It analyzes the existing problems of the main functions of the Kailu County Agricultural Machinery Bureau and discusses the reasons for the problems. Analyze the actual situation of the main functions of the Kailu County Agricultural Machinery Administration, and put forward reasonable countermeasures and suggestions in line with the development of the main functions of the Kailu County Agricultural Machinery Administration.
A Systematic Analysis of the Development of Agricultural Modernization and Its Effect on Crop Production in Northeastern China

Abstract:Agricultural farming problems are the main concerns for states and local governments in stabilizing and increasing food production. Agricultural mechanization is an important element in this scenario. Thus, we conduct a systematic analysis to examine the agricultural mechanization level and its effect on grain production by using panel data and scientific literature mining for the last two decades in northeastern China. For this purpose, the autoregressive distributed lag model, the stochastic frontier model, and bibliometric analysis are employed. The results show that the development level of agricultural mechanization is stable in the region. In terms of scientific research progress in agricultural mechanization, researchers are mainly studying to solve problems related to carbon emissions, green energy, and environmental protection, and overall, a 4.39% growth rate for research publications was found. Also, the statistical analysis shows that variables such as fertilizers (9.808) and agricultural machinery (0.003) have a significant positive impact on the agricultural industry, which indicates that the development of agricultural mechanization has a certain impact on the efficiency of food production. Thus, technological innovation in climate agricultural practices and small-scale farming could be more beneficial to fulfilling the future food demand.

Abstract:China's agricultural machinery development has gone through fi ve stages in its 100-year history: Germination stage of agricultural machinery development (1917-1949), Construction Stage of Modern Agricultural Machinery Industry System in China (1949-1979), System transformation Stage (1980-1995), Market-oriented stage (1996-2003), Rapid development stage (2004-2014). After the 12th Five-Year Plan, China's 13th Five-Year Plan has been going on for three years. Signifi cant Achievements in Agricultural Mechanization has also made in recent 10 years. Although Agricultural Mechanization in China has made considerable progress, there are still great gaps in agricultural mechanization level compared with developed countries. In order to further narrow the gap between China's agricultural mechanization and developed countries, enhance the scientifi c and technological innovation ability of agricultural machinery, strategic focus of agricultural mechanization have been presented in China. The development strategy of "three steps" is defi ned, that is, the strategic objectives of China's agricultural machinery science and technology innovation and agricultural mechanization development to 2025, 2035 and 2050. Two Development Principles which are full process mechanization and Comprehensive mechanization, and from 1.0 to 4.0 of China Agricultural machinery are emphasized in China.
Barriers to the Development of Agricultural Mechanization in the North and Northeast China Plains: A Farmer Survey

Abstract:Agricultural mechanization is essential to increase farmers’ income in modern agriculture. However, the use of machinery for crop production in China is quite inefficient. To understand the obstacles limiting farmers’ use of machinery, we conducted face-to-face interview surveys with 1023 farmers (including cooperative directors, machine operators, and farmers without machines) in two major cereal-producing regions with large differences in farming scale: the North China Plain (2.7 ha per capita) and the Northeast China Plain (12.8 ha per capita). The results revealed that farmers in both regions had strong will to use machines. The obstacle preventing farmers from buying machines was the lack of machinery training in the Northeast China Plain and land fragmentation in the North China Plain. Among different farmer groups, land fragmentation was the main barrier for cooperative directors. Farmers without machines thought that there was lack of machinery training and that the cost of machinery purchase was high. Machine operators believed that machine maintenance was too expensive. The income and age also had an effect on the different groups of farmer. It is concluded that, to improve mechanization efficiency and stimulate farmers’ intention to use machinery, the government should make policies to encourage the merge of fragmented farmlands, provide targeted subsidies for agricultural machinery, and organize machinery training in an efficient way.

Abstract:Promoting agricultural mechanization is not only the practical requirement of developing China's agricultural economy, but also the only way of China's agricultural modernization. This paper makes an empirical study on the difference of agricultural mechanization level among 13 provinces in China's main grain producing areas by using the method of principal component analysis. The results show that among the main grain producing areas, Shandong Province has the highest level of agricultural mechanization, Henan Province and Anhui Province are close behind, and Jiangxi province lags behind slightly. On this basis, from the aspects of economic development efficiency, suitable operation level of agricultural machinery and the development of agricultural machinery service system, this paper analyzes the reasons restricting the development of agricultural mechanization level in main grain producing areas, and puts forward some policies to improve the level of Agricultural Mechanization in main grain producing areas, such as consolidating the economic foundation of agricultural machinery development, strengthening the research and development of characteristic agricultural machinery and perfecting the supporting service policies of agricultural machinery.

Abstract:During the "14th Five-Year Plan," Yulin's agricultural mechanization developed rapidly, hilly mountain agricultural production gradually from animal power-based to rely on mechanical power transformation. However, due to the restriction of natural conditions and development basis, there are still problems such as unbalanced development of agricultural machinery and equipment, imperfect service system of agricultural mechanization, the small scale of agro-machinery industry and insufficient input of agricultural scientific research in Yulin. In view of this, put forward the policy suggestions to promote the development of agricultural mechanization in Yulin: improve the effectiveness of infrastructure construction, strengthen the innovation of agricultural science and technology, construct the modern agricultural management system, increase the investment of agricultural machinery scientific research and other countermeasures.

Abstract:Increasing agricultural operating income is not only an important step in improving agricultural work for farmers in the new era, but is also a powerful way to promote rural revitalization. To improve our understanding of the high-quality development of agriculture in China, the factors limiting agricultural income and the impact of the level of agricultural mechanization on agricultural production and income and its mechanism were analysed. Based on field survey data on farmers, this study analysed the influence of agricultural mechanization level on agricultural production and income by utilizing a sample-modified endogenous merging model and a threshold effect model. The level of mechanization has a significant positive impact on the cost, output value, income and return rate of all types of crops. For every 1% increase in the level of mechanization, the yields of all crops, grain crops and cash crops increase by 1.2151, 1.5941 and 0.4351%, respectively. Heterogeneity analysis shows that the level of mechanization has a certain threshold effect on income, with a greater effect occurring after the threshold. A test of action mechanism shows that the mechanization level can increase income via a factor intensification path and quality improvement path, with the partial mediation effects of the two paths being 28.8 and 27.4%, respectively. It is recommended to increase subsidies to purchase agricultural machinery, research and promote machinery suitable for cash crops, increase the level of socialized agricultural services, and improve the ability of farmers to apply novel agricultural machinery and tools so as to increase their operating profits.

Abstract:For sustainable agricultural development, increasing efforts are put on promoting agricultural mechanization and green agricultural development all over the world. Based on the panel data of Chinese provincial agriculture from 2002 to 2018, the System Generalized Method of Moments model and mediation model are constructed to explore the paths of agricultural mechanization affecting green agricultural development. The results show that agricultural mechanization can not only promote the green agricultural development directly but also indirectly by transferring the agricultural labor force and increasing fertilizer input. However, because of the surge of pesticide demand, agricultural mechanization also leads to serious pollution indirectly. With the development of large-scale agricultural machinery, the direct promotion of agricultural machinery on green agricultural development will be more significant. However, it will be less efficient to substitute more agricultural labor force with machinery power. The problem of pesticide abuse will also become more serious. Therefore, it is important for green agricultural development to encourage human capital investment in agricultural mechanization. In addition, more attention should be paid to improving the input efficiency of fertilizers and pesticides so that agriculture will be sustainable in production and the ecological environment.

Abstract:Applying machinery into agricultural production can enhance the efficiency and quality of agricultural production. Therefore, every government takes agricultural Mechanization as an important measure for developing agriculture. Because of the different geological structure traits and location among different regions, the development levels of agricultural mechanization in different regions in China are variable. To measure the agricultural mechanization of 30 regions in China, a comprehensive evaluation method, denoted as DEA-TOPSIS, is applied in this paper. By using the statistic data of agricultural mechanization, we can calculate the comprehensive score for each region in China by applying DEA-TOPSIS methodology. The calculation results can provide corresponding information for each region about its agricultural mechanization development level.
