Abstract:It should be paid more attention to the atmospheric heavy metal pollution due to its wide impact range and serious harm.Atmospheric heavy metal pollution could cause cross-contamination such as settlement of heavy metals in water or soil,or reacting with other pollutants to make new pollution.Cross-contamination enhanced the transference of heavy metals in atmosphere,and strengthened its toxicity,therefore,cross-contamination should be paid attention.This paper reviewed the influence factors of cross-contamination and its characteristics,and the perspectives of research was also presented.

Abstract:A review with 33 references is given on the existing status of heavy metal pollution in water enviroment and its evaluation.The problem of heavy metal pollution in water environment has been universal.Many coherent laws and regulations as well as evaluation criterions and assessment approaches of water quality were established.The assessment approaches mostly include two aspects follows:direct evaluation of water quality and assessment of sediment quality.The evaluating methods of water quality include index method,grade method,probabilistic method and fuzzy mathematical method etc.The assessment approaches of sediment quality include index method,bio-detection evaluation method and sediment quality triad approach(Triad),equilibrium partitioning approach(EqP).In general,the integrated approach with chemical and biological index was commonly used and suitable.

Abstract:The speciation and mobility of heavy metals determine their pollution risks and bioavailability in the environment.In this paper,the main environmental factors that affect heavy metal speciation and ion binding properties are discussed,and the interactions of heavy metals with organic matter as well as minerals are analyzed.Based on the discussion and analysis,the current methods for investigating heavy metal speciation including chemical extraction,electrochemistry techniques,molecular scale techniques,modeling etc.are critically reviewed.

Abstract:Current situation and sources of heavy metal pollution were summarized,and research progress of various remediation technologies for contaminated groundwater was reviewed.Some suggestions on preventing and controlling heavy metal pollution in groundwater were proposed for further research.In in-situ biological remediation technologies,some functional microorganisms such as Geobacter and Shewanella,which deserved attention,could produce nanowire under certain conditions,getting rid of the restrictions of direct contact of microbial extracellular electron acceptor.Those microorganisms enhanced degradation efficiency,holding great orosoects in future application.

Abstract:To study the heavy metal contamination in soil of university campus in the western,10 sampling points were selected in a University campus,containing surface and subsoil samples,and Cu,Zn,Pb,Cr contents of four heavy metals were determinated.Microwave digestion of samples and flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry were used to determine metals in samples.It showed that contants of heavy metals in the samples of tested university campus were currently in the security range.But the universities,particularly the advanced research institutions,the pollutants generated in the scientific research process should properly been handled,providing university students with a safe campus environment.

Abstract:Heavy metal pollution is one of the most serious environmental problems in China and a large number of people are threatened by heavy metal pollution. Extensive damage to human organs, such as liver, kidney, digestion system, and nervous system can be caused by uptake of excess heavy metals. Heavy metals in the environment can originate from both natural and anthropogenic sources. Although contamination of heavy metals has been known to be a severe environmental problem for decades, it is still getting worse in recent years and there are few feasible approaches to resolve this problem. Due to their high toxicity, prevalent existence and persistence in the environment, lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr) and arsenic (As) are commonly considered as the priority heavy metals which should be concerned and their emission should be controlled in China. This paper reviewed the pollution of heavy metals in China, focusing on the following four aspects: current status of heavy metal pollution in China, sources of heavy metals in China, toxicity and potential risk, and possible reduction strategies.

Abstract:Heavy metal pollution has become one of the most serious environmental problems in the world today. Due to the persistence and recalcitrance in the environment, the treatment of heavy metals is of special concern. In recent years, various methods for the removal of heavy metal from soil, waste water have been extensively studied. This paper has reviewed the current methods that have been used to control and removal heavy metals from the polluted soil, wastewater and some other substances.These technologies include chemical remediation, physics remediation and bioremediation. The chemical remediation methods include drip washing method, consolidation and stabilization method and ameliorant method. The ameliorant method is considered as the best method in the chemical remediation. The physics remediation methods include the revising soil method, microwave heat remediation method and the electrokinetic remediation method.Electrokinetic remediation method is one of the newest methods in the world. The bioremediation methods include the plant remediation, the animal remediation and the microorganism remediation. The plant remediation methods contain the plant extract, the plant volatilization and the plant stabilization. It is considered that the plant remediation is widely adopted for removal of the heavy metals from the soil and the microorganism remediation method is the hotspot in all the control and remediation technology.

Abstract:In the paper,these influencing factors about actions of heavy metals' absorption/desorption,dissolution/precipitation,oxidation/deoxidation and chelation in soil are summarized since the beginning of the 21 century,such as clay mineral,microbe,humus,pH,heavy metal's character,soil enzyme,human activity and so on.Meanwhile,these researches about behavior and character of heavy metal have not been gotten enough recognition under complex outdoors,and the relationship of vegetable and heavy metals has little been focused,and the difference of behavior between heavy metals and compounds in different areas and agrotypes need to be scientificlly explained and many of restoration technologies about polluted soils by heavy metals appeare to be risk,and integrated pollution of heavy metals need to continue quantification in soil.

Abstract:With the rapid urbanization and industrialization, heavy metal contamination in urban soil and surface dust has received particular attention due to its negative effects on the eco-environment and human health. Contamination and spatio-temporal characteristics, contamination sources, and source apportionment methods, as well as the ecological and health risks of heavy metals in urban soil and surface dust were reviewed. The knowledge gaps in current research and prospects of future works were proposed. Four key points were presented, including improving the research on the interaction mechanism of heavy metals in urban soil and surface dust under complex conditions, enriching verification methods to improve the source apportionment reliability of anthropogenic metals by receptor models, strengthening the research on chemical forms of heavy metals from different sources and their short-term accumulation processes in surface dust, and raising the credibility of ecological and health risk forecast of heavy metals by integrating the improved exposure parameters and chemical forms.

Abstract:The heavy metal pollution of atmospheric environment has a seriously impact on the health of human and the safety of environment,and industrial flue gas has an important contribution to atmospheric pollution,so the removal technology of heavy metal has become a hot topic of many scholars.The domestic and overseas research status about heavy metal pollution in atmosphere is summarized,the research fruits on the source,migration and distribution,biological toxicity and the removal technology of the three common heavy metal pollution ions(Hg,Pb,Cd)in atmosphere are discussed.Simultaneously,the new trend of future research may focus on heavy metal pollution in atmosphere is proposed.
