Abstract:The synthesis of a series of unprecedented tricyclic heterocycles, 1,2,4-triazolo[3,2-d][1,5]benzothiazepine 6-oxides (5a-i), was accomplished via cycloaddition of the allene-like cations 3, derived from thiochroman-4-one arylhydrazones, to the triple bond of nitriles and ensuing rings expansion annulation. The structure of one product (5h) has been unambiguously determined by X-ray diffraction analysis.

Abstract:An efficient route to synthesize the target compounds was developed. Fifteen new 5-[4'-(5-isoxazol4-aryl-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl-sulfanylmethyl)-biphenyl-2-yl]-tetrazoles derivatives were synthesized. The structures of the new compounds synthesized were confirmed by elemental analyses and spectral data.

Abstract:Many nitrogen- and sulfur-containing heterocyclic compounds exhibit biological activity. Among these heterocycles are benzo[4,5]thiazolo[2,3-c][1,2,4]triazoles for which two main synthetic approaches exist. Here we report a new synthetic protocol that allows the preparation of these tricyclic compounds via the oxidation of a mercaptophenyl moiety to its corresponding disulfide. Subsequent C-H bond functionalization is thought to enable an intramolecular ring closure, thus forming the desired benzo[4,5]thiazolo[2,3-c][1,2,4]triazole. This method combines a high functional group tolerance with short reaction times and good to excellent yields.

Abstract:Herein, we reported an efficient copper-catalyzed strategy for the synthesis of N,N-4-triphenylthiazol-2-amines from bromoacetophenone, phenylthiourea and iodobenzene. This method features good functional group tolerance, easy availability of starting materials and simplicity of operation, which provides an alternative method for the synthesis of 2-aminothiazoles.

Abstract:Incorporation of a trifluoromethyl group with 1,2,3-triazoles motifs was described. We explored a click reaction approach for regioselective synthesis of 1-susbstituted-4-trifluoromethyl-1,2,3-triazoles in which 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene (DBU) reacts with commercial 2-bromo-3,3,3-trifluoropropene (BTP) to form 3,3,3-trifloropropyne (TFP) in situ. Arising from merits associated with the availability and stability of BTP, and the high efficiencies of CuI/1,10-Phenanthroline (Phen)-catalyzed cycloaddition reactions of azides with alkynes, this readily performed click process takes place to form the target 1,2,3-triazoles in high yields, and with a wide azide substrate scope. The potential value of this protocol was demonstrated by its application to a gram-scale reaction.

Abstract:An efficient cascade method has been developed for the synthesis of aza[2,1-b][1,3]-benzothiazinones from cyclic thiourea and methyl 2-iodobenzoate via the Cu(I)-catalyzed C–S coupling/amidation process. A number of aza[2,1-b][1,3]-benzothiazinones containing five, six, seven membered rings and different substituents were obtained in good yield.

Abstract:Transition-metal-catalyzed, directed intermolecular C-H bond functionalization is synthetically useful but heavily underexplored in multiheteroatom heterocycle synthesis. Herein we report a cobalt catalytic method for the formation of a three-nitrogen-bearing benzotriazine scaffold via the coupling of arylhydrazine and oxadiazolone. This synthetic protocol features a low-cost base metal catalyst, a maximum number of heteroatoms built into a heterocycle, a distinct synthetic logic for benzotriazines, a superior step economy, and a broad substrate scope.

Abstract:A new and practical one-pot procedure for the synthesis of several 2-sustituted-4-methylthiazole-5-carboxylates from commercially available starting materials is described. Under mild reaction conditions, some of the products with alkyl group on the 2-amino group or with various groups on 2-substituted phenyl ring were obtained in good yields from ethyl acetoacetate, N-bromosuccinimide, thiourea, or its N-substituted derivatives in an efficient way instead of the traditional two-step reaction.

Abstract:A facile synthetic method for the construction of 3-aminothiophenes from readily available thioamides and alllenes in the presence of a TBAI/TBHP catalyst system was developed. This protocol represents an efficient and straightforward way to access highly functionalized thiophenes in moderate to excellent yields under mild conditions, via a tandem thio-Michael addition, oxidative annulation, and 1,2-sulfur migration pathway.

Abstract:Abstract A convenient approach for the synthesis of thiazolo[3,4-a]-benzimidazole derivatives has been developed. Three-component reaction of readily available o-phenylenediamines, aryl isothiocyanate, and 4-chloro-3-oxobutanoate in toluene–dichloromethane without any catalyst proceeds under reflux to afford the title compounds in high yields. The structure of the target molecule was confirmed by X-ray diffraction.

Abstract:A synthetic approach to the previously unknown thieno[2,3-f][1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a]azepine derivatives was efficiently accomplished by cycloaddition of the bicyclic 1-aza-2-azoniaallene salts 6, derived from 6,7-dihydrobenzo[b]thiophen-4(5H)-one hydrazones 4, to the triple bond of nitriles, followed by ring enlargement. The X-ray crystal diffraction analysis of the picrate 10a provided affirmative proof for the structural assignment made.
