Abstract:With the popularity of economic globalization, the strong demand for international division of labor drives financial services outsourcing to be the new feature of international industry transfer. However, both parties in the outsourcing transactions will not only obtain many benefits but also face various risks. This paper makes a study on the risks which financial service outsourcing faces from the angle of risk recognition and measurement, and also makes an in-depth analysis of the risks respectively originating from service provider, customer and transaction. And finally, it proposes some corresponding suggestions.

Abstract:This paper identifies the risks of a company which is working at software outsourcing projects between Hongkong and Guangdong, discovers the causal relationships among the risk factors, and constructs corresponding risk structure model with Interpretive Structural Modeling. Five original risk factors are discovered, including contracts risk, requirements definition and change, lack of communication, political and legal environment differences, and exchange rate fluctuations. Finally, three advices are proposed for software outsourcing business operation: project planning, project requirements, and communication.

Abstract:This paper uses market research method and SPSS13.0 to analyze factors on the survey data.We take the various factors'variance contribution rate accounted for eight comprehensive factors total variance contribution rate of the proportion as weight to weighted summary, and then give the financial service outsourcing factors for comprehensive factors evaluation.A quantitative study analyzes 28 variables, therefore we get the conclusion that financial service outsourcing risk factors mainly are decision risk, operational risk, management risk, financial risk and technical risks, environmental risk, moral risk and market risk.

Abstract:To gain competitive advantage, organisations are considering information technology (IT) outsourcing as a strategic option by concentrating on their core operations and by reducing their operating costs. Many organisations are offering outsourcing services from various parts of the world. There are certain risks factors which IT outsourcing service providers come across while managing their service operations. Risk‐related data from 50 Indian IT outsourcing service providers about their risks and concerns have been collected and archived. This study identifies risks from the providers’ perspective in regard to offshore outsourcing and put forward some guidelines to mitigate such risks.

Abstract:According to the analysis on character of enterprise's IT service outsourcing risk, a system dynamics approach is put forward to study enterprise's IT service outsourcing risk in this paper. On the basis of analyzing system target and boundary, the model on system dynamics of IT service outsourcing risk is established, which is combined with risk sub-system, risk control policy sub-system and risk performance sub-system. Then, the operation of this model is illustrated from the viewpoint of system detailedly. This model provides an effective method for analyzing enterprise's IT service outsourcing risk.

Abstract:Outsourcing is widely regarded as a most effective means to reduce the operation cost and enhance the competitiveness of the businesses,especially since 1980's and 1990's which witnessed the fast development of outsourcing in the supply chain of the logistics industry and the emergence of an important trend towards engaging the suppler of the logistics service in relevant logistics practice.Based on a survey of the outsourcing of 120 enterprises across different lines,the paper finds out the outsourcing extent of the supply chain logistics of Chinese enterprises and looks into the barriers to professional logistics outsourcing.The main findings of the research are attention is now being shifted from the simple function of logistics outsourcing to services and elements related to cost.Another finding is that the formation of partnership between the client and the third party and even the integrated logistics is an important trend currently in the development of logistics.

Abstract:On the basis of reviewing the research literature on the risk of human resource management outsourcing,this paper summarizes the sources of risk of human resource management outsourcing.And it establishes the evaluation index system of enterprise's human resource management outsourcing risk,and determines the integrated weights of the evaluation indexes through the weight fit between the objective weights obtained by the entropy method and the subjective weights obtained by the analytic hierarchy process.Finally,it demonstrates the step of evaluating the risk of enterprise's human resource management outsourcing by the furry comprehensive evaluation method.

Abstract:This paper makes a study of the influencing factors of China's undertaking service outsourcing. Both our theoretical and empirical analyses show that the main influencing factors of service outsourcing location include the cost and quality of human resource,the development of service industry,infrastructure and macroeconomic environment. China's advantages in attracting service outsourcing from developed countries lie in its low-cost human resource,good infrastructure and promising macroeconomic environment. On the other hand,the relatively less-developed service industry and the shortage of qualified personnel are China's disadvantages in undertaking service outsourcing.

Abstract:Nowadays, the share and the influence of Chinese enterprise in the international project contracting market are increasing year by year, while the mounting risk of international projects cannot be overlooked. Recently, the Chinese overseas enterprises have suffered the risk from:(1) the overall economy; (2) overseas business fields; (3) geographical distribution; (4) new contract amounts; and (5) accomplished business revenue. At the same time, the overseas projects of Chinese enterprise are coping with a series of international engineering problems, such as tender discrimination, harsh terms of the contract and the kidnapped workers. Therefore, this paper aims to seek ways for China's foreign-related enterprises to avoid risk and losses. Moreover, preventive measures and suggestions of risk management can be taken from this essay.

Abstract:Purpose IT-enabled service offshoring has become a vital and widespread practice for firms seeking to realize various advantages. However, many firms suffer from “hidden costs” (the discrepancies between the expected and actual costs of offshoring), and these firms often find a disappointing outcome from their offshoring decisions. The purpose of this paper is to explore whether and how the adoption of an offshoring strategy can reduce such hidden costs and how this effect can be moderated by contextual factors, including the complexity of tasks and the accumulation of experience. Design/methodology/approach Based on survey data from the Offshoring Research Network, this study uses hierarchical regression analysis to empirically test the hypothesized relationships. Findings A corporate-wide strategy for guiding offshoring decisions may effectively reduce cost-estimation errors. This effect is amplified by increasing task complexity, but decreases with growing offshoring experience. Regardless of whether a strategy is initially in place, most firms learn to avoid cost-estimation errors only after several years. This finding suggests that firms have a limited ability to mitigate hidden costs in the short term. Practical implications The guidelines specified by an overarching strategy can better rationalize cost estimation and goal setting for individual offshoring projects, provide incentives for project participants to achieve preset aspirations, and enhance cost-efficiency in fulfilling offshoring activities and in coping with emerging contingencies. Firms tend to benefit more from establishing a formal strategy to reduce the hidden costs of more complex projects, especially if the firms involved have little offshoring experience. Originality/value This study empirically examines the hidden costs in offshoring from a strategic management perspective. This approach extends our understanding of cost estimates in offshoring, and it explores the influence of corporate strategy in the alignment of expected and achieved performances from IT-enabled service offshoring. The study also examines the boundaries of strategy’s ability to affect hidden costs, and it expands our knowledge of the relationship between strategy and experience.

Abstract:Customer enterprise's participation in outsourcing service can reduce cost and improve efficiency, but the customer enterprise may involve in a dilemma for the moral hazard of the service provider. Focusing on moral hazard of the service provider, a principal-agent model with participation of the customer enterprise is established. Based on the model the relationship of the customer's participation, the service provider's effort and revenue sharing contract are analyzed. The results indicate that when the customer's participation and the service provider's effort are complementary, the service provider can be incented and the proportion of revenue-sharing should be increased with participation increasing. Otherwise, the service provider cannot be incented and the proportion of revenue-sharing should be decreased with participation increasing.
