Effects of Vacuum Chamber Loadage on Temperature and Vase Life of Cut Rose

Abstract:The vacuum pretreatment of cut roses with the loadage of one, 10, 50 and 120 was conducted respectively to explore the effect of loadage on the temperature changes of different parts of the cut roses.The results show that the temperature curves of the single bloom were significantly different from those of blooms with the other loadages and the cooling time was shortest.The different loadages resulted in different final temperatures.For 10, 50 and 120 cut roses, the final temperatures of the outer parts were higher than those of the inner parts of the cut roses.The final temperature of the petal of the inner bloom was lowest, and the temperature reduction rate was greatest.In addition, the quality of the 50 cut roses was the best after the vacuum pretreatment.These findings may be important to the vacuum pretreatment of cut blooms including the choice of pretreatment parameters.
