Abstract:Two-stage emulsification was used to prepare oil-in-water-in-oil(O/W/O) three-phase emulsion.In this study,the emulsification properties of an O/W/O three-phase emulsion were investigated.The effect of HLB value and water content on characteristics of an O/W/O emulsions was studied.Experimental results show that when Span60 and/or Tween60 are added into the emulsions as the surfactant emulsifier.When the amount of water is 100/0 and HLB values in the range of 6 to 9 with 20/0 surfactant,the O/W/O emulsions has an appropriate viscosity and stability,and it is suitably used as an alternative fuel for diesel engines.
