Current situation of health education and its influencing factors among migrant population

Abstract:Objective To understand the current situation of health education and its influencing factors among migrant population,and provide reference for improving their health literacy.Methods Data of National Survey of Migrant Population Dynamic Monitoring in 2014 was used to describe the contents,the places,the manners of health education that migrant population had received.In addition,the influencing factors of health education was analyzed.Results As to the contents of health education,knowledge related to contraception and reproductive were easier to be received (105 757,52.6％),while the knowledge of mental health (23 925,11.9％),tuberculosis (48 279,24.0％) and other infectious disease prevention and control (44 975,22.4％) were relatively lack.The traditional billboards (58.2％),radio and television (46.8％) were the main propaganda methods.As to the coverage,the ratio of not receiving any one of the health education was 29.9％.Further study found that gender (OR =0.812,95％ CI:0.794-0.830),age (OR =0.966,95％CI:0.953-0.980),marital status (OR=1.383,95％CI:1.345-1.422),flow range (OR=0.707,95％CI:0.692-0.722),the time of outflow (OR =1.037,95％ CI:1.015-1.060),the kind of the enterprise (Private property:OR =0.598,95％ CI:0.570-0.627;the other:OR =0.508,95％ CI:0.482-0.536),income (OR =1.013,95％ CI:1.005-1.021) were the main influencing factors of health education.Conclusion There are still some problems in health education of migrant population.The contents are not comprehensive.Depending on inflow place to get the services does not make full use of the outflow's advantages.Different kinds of enterprises do affect the health education level of migrant population.
