Abstract:In this paper, by introducing some appropriate transformation and with the help of symbolic computation, we study exact travelling wave solutions for the high-order modified Boussinesq equation, a single nonlinear reaction-diffusion equation and a generalized nonlinear Schrödinger equation with nonlinear terms of any order by use of the extended-tanh method. Thus, some new exact travelling-wave solutions, which contain kink-shaped solitons, bell-shaped solitons, periodic solutions, combined formal solitons, rational solutions and singular solitons for these equations, are obtained.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider a new class of nonlinear partial differential equations with nonlinear term of any order, utt+a1uxx+a2u+a3up+a4u2p−1=0, which contains some particular important equations. We give a new kind of transformation and a new generalized ansätze to treat this class of equations. As a result, many explicit exact solutions, which contain new kink-profile solitary-wave solutions, bell-profile solitary-wave solutions, periodic wave solutions and combined formal solitary-wave solutions, are obtained by the extended method. In addition, we also can derive rational solutions for this class of equations.

Abstract:In this paper, we use our method to solve the extended Lotka-Volterra equation and discrete KdV equation. With the help of Maple, we obtain a number of exact solutions to the two equations including soliton solutions presented by hyperbolic functions of sinh and cosh, periodic solutions presented by trigonometric functions of sin and cos, and rational solutions. This method can be used to solve some other nonlinear difference-differential equations.

Abstract:Based on computerized symbolic computation and a new, general ansatze, a generalized tanh-function method for constructing multiple travelling wave solutions of nonlinear evolution. equations (NEEs) is presented and implemented in a computer algebraic system. Applying the generalized method, with the aid of Maple, we consider some NEEs with physics interests. As a result, we can successfully recover the previously known solitary wave solutions that had been found by-the extended tanh-function method and other more sophisticated methods. More importantly, for some equations, we also obtain other new and more general solutions at same time. The results include kink-profile solitary-wave-solutions, bell-profile solitary-wave solutions, periodic wave solutions, rational solutions, singular solutions and new formal solutions. The properties of the new soliton solutions for WBK equations are shown by some figures. (C) 2003 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

The power of this manageable method is confirmed by applying it for two selected nonlinear partial equations. This approach can also be applied to other systems of nonlinear differential equations.

Abstract:At present, only some special differential equations have explicit analytical solutions. In general, no one thinks that it is possible to analytically find the exact solution of nonlinear equations. In this article based on the idea that the numerical scheme with zero truncation error can give rise to exact solution, a general formula for the exact solution of the initial value problem of nonlinear ordinary differential equations is obtained. Meanwhile, this formula enables us to construct a numerical scheme with zero truncation error for solving the nonlinear differential equations.

Abstract:Due to the importance of the nonlinear partial differential equations in applied physics, many mathematicians and physicists are interesting to the nonlinear partial differential equations. One of the main tasks of studying the nonlinear partial differential equations is to obtain the exact solutions for the nonlinear partial differential equations. In this paper, we study the exact solutions of a generalized (2+1)-dimensional nonlinear partial differential equation. According to the modified hyperbolic function method and the traveling transformation method, the generalized (2+1)-dimensional nonlinear partial differential equation is changed into an ordinary differential equation. By taking the homogeneous balance between the highest order nonlinear terms and the derivatives of the highest order, we change the differential equation into an algebraic system. By solving the algebraic system, we obtain the solutions for the nonlinear partial differential equation. At last, some solutions and their figures are given by specific parameters. All the solutions conclude the triangle function solutions, the positive hyperbolic function solutions, and the hyperbolic triangle function solutions. These solutions exhibit the dynamics of nonlinear waves and the solutions are useful for the study on interaction behavior of nonlinear waves in shallow water, plasma, nonlinear optics and Bose–Einstein condensates.

Abstract:This paper presents a new approach for finding exact solutions to certain classes of nonlinear partial differential equations (NLPDEs) by combining the variation of parameters method with classical techniques such as the method of characteristics. Our primary focus is on NLPDEs of the form and We provide numerical validation through several examples to ensure accuracy and reliability. Our approach enhances the applicability of analytical solution methods for a broader range of NLPDEs.

Abstract:A mathematical technique based on an auxiliary differential equation and the symbolic computation system Maple is employed to investigate a prototypical and nonlinear K(n,n) equation with variable coefficients. The exact solutions to the equation are constructed analytically under various circumstances. It is shown that the variable coefficients and the exponent appearing in the equation determine the quantitative change in the physical structures of the solutions.

Abstract:New problem is considered that is to find nonlinear differential equations with special solutions. Method is presented to construct nonlinear ordinary differential equations with exact solution. Crucial step to the method is the assumption that nonlinear differential equations have exact solution which is general solution of the simplest integrable equation. The Riccati equation is shown to be a building block to find a lot of nonlinear differential equations with exact solutions. Nonlinear differential equations of the second, third and fourth order with special solutions are given. Most of these equations are used at the description of processes in physics and in theory of nonlinear waves.

Abstract:A unified approach is presented for finding the travelling wave solutions to a large class of nonlinear evolution equations defined by the concept of "rank". The key idea of this method is to make use of the arbitrariness of the Painleve analysis manifold. We selected a new expansion variable, thus obtaining a rich variety of exact travelling wave solutions to a nonlinear evolution equation, including solitary wave solutions, triangular periodic solutions and Jacobi periodic wave solutions, as well as rational solutions and so on. This method is completely algorithmic, hence the Maple implementation is also used. Several examples illustrate the capabilities of the package; new solutions and more general types of solutions are obtained for some nonlinear evolution equations.

Abstract:In this paper, the nonlinear approximate equations for long wave in shallow water are studied via using two different methods. Firstly, with the aid of Mathematica and Wu-elimination method, by using sine-cosine method, three families of soliton solutions are obtained. Secondly, based on the known references, through using a new transformation, several rational formal solutions are found again. The two methods can be also applied to other nonlinear equations.

Abstract:In this paper, we devise a new unified algebraic method to construct a series of explicit exact solutions for general nonlinear equations. Compared with most existing methods such as tanh method, Jacobi elliptic function method and homogeneous balance method, the proposed method not only gives new and more general solutions, but also provides a guideline to classify the various types of the solutions according to the values of some parameters. The solutions obtained in this paper include (a) polynomial solutions, (b) exponential solutions, (c) rational solutions, (d) triangular periodic wave solutions, (e) hyperbolic, and soliton solutions, (f) Jacobi, and Weierstrass doubly periodic wave solutions. The efficiency of the method can be demonstrated on a large variety of nonlinear equations such as those considered in this paper, combined KdV–MKdV, Camassa–Holm, Kaup–Kupershmidt, Jaulent–Miodek, (2+1)-dimensional dispersive long wave, new (2+1)-dimensional generalized Hirota, (2+1)-dimensional breaking soliton and double sine-Gordon equations. In addition, the links among our proposed method, the tanh method, the extended method and the Jacobi function expansion method are also clarified generally.

Abstract:In this paper, the exp-function method is used to exactly solve three nonlinear partial differential systems, i.e., the (4+1)-dimensional Fokas equation, the variable-coefficient Burgerâ€™s equation and the variable-coefficient Benjamin-Bona-Mahony (BBM) equation. As a result, three exact solutions are obtained. It is shown that the exp-function method is a useful mathematical tool for solving some other high-dimensional nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs) and variable-coefficient nonlinear PDEs.

Abstract:In this article we apply the first integral method to construct the exact solutions of some nonlinear fractional partial differential equations (PDES) in the sense of modified Riemann–Liouville derivatives, namely the nonlinear fractional Zoomeron equation and the nonlinear fractional Klein- Gordon- Zakharov system of equations. Based on a nonlinear fractional complex transformation, these two nonlinear fractional equations can be turned into nonlinear ordinary differential equations (ODE) of integer order. This method has more advantages: it is direct and concise. Abstract:The hyperbolic function method for nonlinear wave equations is presented. In support of a computer algebra system, many exact solitary wave solutions of a class of nonlinear wave equations are obtained via the method. The method is based on the fact that the solitary wave solutions are essentially of a localized nature. Writing the solitary wave solutions of a nonlinear wave equation as the polynomials of hyperbolic functions, the nonlinear wave equation can be changed into a nonlinear system of algebraic equations. The system can be solved via Wu Elimination or Gröbner base method. The exact solitary wave solutions of the nonlinear wave equation are obtained including many new exact solitary wave solutions.

Abstract:With the aid of symbolic computation, some algorithms are presented for the rational expansion methods, which lead to closed-form solutions of nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs). The new algorithms are given to find exact rational formal polynomial solutions of PDEs in terms of Jacobi elliptic functions, solutions of the Riccati equation and solutions of the generalized Riccati equation. They can be implemented in symbolic computation system Maple. As applications of the methods, we choose some nonlinear PDEs to illustrate the methods. As a result, we not only can successfully obtain the solutions found by most existing Jacobi elliptic function methods and Tanh-methods, but also find other new and more general solutions at the same time.
