Isolation and Identification of the Casual Pathogens of Satsuma Dry Rot Disease from Orchards in Hanzhong

Abstract:The diseased stems of Satsuma with symptoms showing stem V-shaped brown-colored necrosis and fallen leaves were collected from orchards in Hanzhong,Shanxi province in May,2010.Two fungi,HZ1 and HZ2,were isolated from the diseased materials.Inoculation test showed that strain HZ2 was more pathogenic than HZ1.Morphology character and ITS sequences confirmed that HZ2 isolate belonged to Glomerella Schrenk while HZ1 belonged to Colletotrichum Corda and that HZ2 and HZ1 were sexual and asexual generations of Anthracnose species,respectively.
