Investigation and analysis on present situation of post-partum visit service in communities

Abstract:Objectives To learn present situation of post-partum visit service in communities.Method Retrospective investigation by questionnaire was conducted in post-partum women on post-partum 42 day during October-December in 2009.Results(1) The knowledge rate on post-partum home visit service was 61.04% ;(2) The coverage of post-partum home visit was 76.97%,the rate of women that failed to be visited because of no doctor or telephone visit was 52.80% and refused to be visited was 37.89% ;(3) The most common duration for the home visit by community-doctor once was 15-30min which accounted for 56.05% ;(4) The satisfaction degree of post-partum home visit service was 68.79% ;(5) The primary cause of dissatisfaction on home visit service was that the service contents was too simple in which accounted for 74.15%.Conclusions Many weaknesses still exist in post-partum home visit in communities.The knowledge rate on post-partum home visit service is low.Both coverage rate of home visit and satisfactory degree are not high.So,more focus should be attached to post-partum home visit work in communities.the coverage of post-partum home visit and the degree of satisfaction of service was also low,so,we should attach importance to the work of post-partum home visits service in communities to enhance the propaganda on post-partum home visits,the training and administration in community doctors,optimize home visit service and improve the coverage and satisfaction of post-partum home visit service.
