Investigation of Soil Heavy Metal Pollution in Vegetable Production Bases of Wuhan

Abstract:In the paper,we sampled soils from 24 vegetable production bases in districts of Jiangxia,Hongshan,Caidian,Dongxihu and Xinzhou of Wuhan,and analyzed their pH value,EC value,organic matter content and the heavy metal contents including Cu,Zn,Cd and Pb.The results showed that the heavy metal contents of the 24 samples were lower than the upper limit of National Environmental Standard of Soil(GB 15618-1995),indicating that the 24 suburb bases in Wuhan were safe for vegetable production.However,in order to produce pollution-free vegetables,we should take various measures to control pollution sources of heavy metals,and pay more attention to the vegetable production bases with the soils acidulated seriously.
