Influence of Dietary Neutral Detergent Fiber Levels on Chinese Hostein Male Calves' Digestibility of Nutrient Substances

Abstract:In order to investigate the influence of dietary NDF levels on the rules of growing male calves' digestibility-metabolizability of nutrient substances,six 13-months Chinese Hostein male calves were selected and fed with six different dietary NDF levels and a 6×6 Latin square design were adopted for this experiment.The content of NDF quality of six different dietaries is 30.26%,(32.49%,) 34.71%,36.94%,39.16%,and 41.39% respectively.The experience results showed that the apparent digestibility ratio of DM of calves offered dietary with 30.26% NDF level was higher significantly than the others(P<0.05),and the difference of DM digestibility ratio among the other groups were not significant(P>0.05);The difference of OM apparent digestibility ratio among groups of dietary NDF level of 30.26%,32.49% and 36.94% and among groups of dietary NDF levels of 32.49%,34.71%,36.94%,39.16%and 41.39% were not significant(P>0.05),and the difference of OM apparent digestibility ratio among the other groups were significant(P<0.05).The influence of dietary NDF levels on the growing male calves' apparent digestibility ratio of ND and acidic detergent fiber(ADF) was great(P<0.05),the apparent digestibility ratio of NDF and ADF increased with the increasing dietary NDF levels;and the influences of dietary NDF levels on the apparent digestibility ratio of starch was not significant(P>0.05);Dietary NDF level affected nitrogen utilization(P>0.05),too high and too low dietary NDF level were disadvantageous to nitrogen retention.The effects of dietary NDF levels on the apparent digestibility of energy was great(P<0.05),the apparent digestibility of energy increased with the increasing dietary NDF levels.
