Abstract:At the beginning,the development course of competition Wushu series is reviewed,which is divided into such periods as assuring the direction of difficulty and beauty,returning to tradition and offending-defending,going back to the direction of laying emphasis on difficulty and beauty anew.Then,it is pointed out: only in this way can competition Wushu series get a better development that is to pay more attention to such individual characteristics as the hypostatic skill characteristic i.e.offending-defending and the hypostatic cultural characteristic i.e.giving consideration to both form and spirit and to skillfully handle the relationship between these individual characteristics and those general characteristics of performing-difficulty-and-beauty sports.At last,conclusion is given as follow: competition Wushu series is the masterpiece of adding flowers to the brocade of traditional Wushu series;two points,which are plaiting-and-processing-the-brocade and carefully-chiseling-and-carving-the-flowers,should be attached importance to;it is the eternal theme of competition Wushu series' development to adjust contest rules in time in order to make the offending-defending characteristic,cultural characteristic,performing-difficulty-and-beauty characteristic moderately develop according to fair comparison.
