The Research on Willingness to Participate in I-IIV Voluntary Counseling and Testing among Migrants Fertile Women and Influencing Factors in Minhang District, Shanghai

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To determine the knowledge of voluntary counseling and testing(VCT),the related factors and willingness to participate HIV and VCT among migrants fertile women in Minhang District,Shanghai.METHODS 400 women were recruited by a simple random sample method in those who attend the family planning service center in this district,and a face to face anonymous interview were carried.RESULTS Knowledge of VCT among migrants fertile women was low,only 38.8% of migrants fertile women had heard of VCT 49.7% of them did not know where can get VCT services 75.5% reported willingness to accept VCT,when they were informed that VCT was offered free of charge.Univarity analysis indicated that the willingness was associated with having better knowledge of HIV and knowledge VCT.CONCLUSIONS In order to enhance their aware of the risk of HIV infection and improve VCT in the migrant's fertile women,it is necessary to increase their knowledge of HIV and VCT awareness.
