Abstract:This study aims at, for an e-business Web site, how to use data mining technology in its management analysis, i.e. holding customer behavior patterns and digging potential customers. The connection between Web mining and e-commerce was analyzed. Based on a case of consumer behavior pattern digging, explanation of data gathering, filtering and formatting shows different data mining algorithms, like decision tree, neural network, genetic algorithms and case-based reasoning, should be selectively taken according to different application backgrounds.

Abstract:An enormous volume of security-relevant information is present on the Web, for instance in the content produced each day by millions of bloggers worldwide, but discovering and making sense of these data is very challenging. This paper considers the problem of exploring and analyzing the Web to realize three fundamental objectives: 1.) security relevant information discovery; 2.) target situational awareness, typically by making (near) real-time inferences concerning events and activities from available observations; and 3.) predictive analysis, to include providing early warning for crises and forming predictions regarding likely outcomes of emerging issues and contemplated interventions. The proposed approach involves collecting and integrating three types of Web data, textual, relational, and temporal, to perform assessments and generate insights that would be difficult or impossible to obtain using standard methods. We demonstrate the efficacy of the framework by summarizing a number of successful real-world deployments of the methodology.

Abstract:Internet with current and emerging multimedia features provides ample opportunities and particularly useful for dealing with intangible nature of the service, and transforming marketing mix. This study utilizes content analysis to analyze the websites of a group of museums in Macau in terms of web design characteristics (interactivity, technology, information functionality, and marketing practices). This study also investigates museum image representation on the web based on museum types. The findings showed that the museums in Macau are not utilizing the Internet to its full potential and effectively e-marketing their museums regardless of the museum type.

Abstract:The signaling study is an important field of intelligence forecast. Although it has been decades since the economic circle has studied marketing signals, the intelligence studies, especially those in the competitive intelligence field, still do not regard it as an important subject of competitive analysis. This paper introduces part of research results of Chinese and foreign scholars on five topics such as the classification of signals, the generation and discovery, the collection and treatment, the analysis and identification, and the application of signaling theory. The paper aims to attract the attention of enterprise intelligence professionals and those engaged in the intelligence study, and to further expand studies in this aspect by integrating intelligence theories on relevant subjects.

Abstract:Despite the growing prevalence of marketing analytics, concerns exist regarding how to realize the full potential of business analytics initiatives. This study explores how and under what conditions a firm's deployment of marketing analytics can influence its business performance. Analyzing survey data collected from 238 Chinese firms, this study confirms that marketing analytics positively influences a firm's market agility, leading to increased firm performance. Moreover, inter-departmental coordination and market turbulence are found to strengthen the positive effect of marketing analytics on market agility, while success traps hinder such effect. The findings suggest that firms need to align their marketing analytical activities with their internal practices and external market environment.

Abstract:<p>Big data analytics has been a topical area in the past decade. Despite it is emphased as a promising tool for the B2B sectors, there is a short of academic studies about this phenomenon in the industrial markets. Existing big data analytics focuses more on the consumers' marketing aspect, while in fact both the consumers' data and the machine-generated transaction data can be gathered and analysed at the interorganisational level. Subsequently, there is a need to increase the attention on the B2B aspects of big data analytics and the interactions of stakeholders. This paper, therefore, investigates the digital transformation enabled by big data analytics in the industrial markets and provides a conceptual framework. It solicits research articles that provide insights into various industrial contexts of this topic and applied both qualitative and quantitative approaches to identify the big data gathering and applications for value creation.</p>

The conclusion emphasises the importance of marketing analytics in comprehending client behaviour and fostering corporate growth. It stresses the need to keep abreast of developing trends and technology to be competitive in the changing marketing environment. Abstract:Marketing analytics is a diverse field, with both academic researchers and practitioners coming from a range of backgrounds including marketing, expert systems, statistics, and operations research. This paper provides an integrative review at the boundary of these areas. The aim is to give researchers in the intelligent and expert systems community the opportunity to gain a broad view of the marketing analytics area and provide a starting point for future interdisciplinary collaboration. The topics of visualization, segmentation, and class prediction are featured. Links between the disciplines are emphasized. For each of these topics, a historical overview is given, starting with initial work in the 1960s and carrying through to the present day. Recent innovations for modern, large, and complex "big data" sets are described. Practical implementation advice is given, along with a directory of open source R routines for implementing marketing analytics techniques.

Abstract:Purpose Competitor analysis is a key component in operations management. Most business decisions are rooted in the analysis of rival products inferred from market structure. Relative to more traditional competitor analysis methods, the purpose of this paper is to provide operations managers with an innovative tool to monitor a firm’s market position and competitors in real time at higher resolution and lower cost than more traditional competitor analysis methods. Design/methodology/approach The authors combine the techniques of Web Crawler, Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning algorithms with data visualization to develop a big data competitor-analysis system that informs operations managers about competitors and meaningful relationships among them. The authors illustrate the approach using the fitness mobile app business. Findings The study shows that the system supports operational decision making both descriptively and prescriptively. In particular, the innovative probabilistic topic modeling algorithm combined with conventional multidimensional scaling, product feature comparison and market structure analyses reveal an app’s position in relation to its peers. The authors also develop a user segment overlapping index based on user’s social media data. The authors combine this new index with the product functionality similarity index to map indirect and direct competitors with and without user lock-in. Originality/value The approach improves on previous approaches by fully automating information extraction from multiple online sources. The authors believe this is the first system of its kind. With limited human intervention, the methodology can easily be adapted to different settings, giving quicker, more reliable real-time results. The approach is also cost effective for market analysis projects covering different data sources.

Abstract:Competitive Intelligence is one of the key factors for enterprise risk management and decision support. However, the functions of Competitive Intelligence are often greatly restricted by the lack of sufficient information sources about the competitors. With the emergence of Web 2.0, the large numbers of customer-generated product reviews often contain information about competitors and have become a new source of mining Competitive Intelligence. In this study, we proposed a novel graphical model to extract and visualize comparative relations between products from customer reviews, with the interdependencies among relations taken into consideration, to help enterprises discover potential risks and further design new products and marketing strategies. Our experiments on a corpus of Amazon customer reviews show that our proposed method can extract comparative relations more accurately than the benchmark methods. Furthermore, this study opens a door to analyzing the rich consumer-generated data for enterprise risk management.
