Abstract:Consider the problem of approximating the tail probability of randomly weighted sums ∑i=1nΘiXi and their maxima, where {Xi,i≥1} is a sequence of identically distributed but not necessarily independent random variables from the extended regular variation class, and {Θi,i≥1} is a sequence of nonnegative random variables, independent of {Xi,i≥1} and satisfying certain moment conditions. Under the assumption that {Xi,i≥1} has no bivariate upper tail dependence along with some other mild conditions, this paper establishes the following asymptotic relations: Pr(max1≤k≤n∑i=1kΘiXi>x)∼Pr(∑i=1nΘiXi>x)∼∑i=1nPr(ΘiXi>x), and Pr(max1≤k<∞∑i=1kΘiXi>x)∼Pr(∑i=1∞ΘiXi+>x)∼∑i=1∞Pr(ΘiXi>x), as x→∞. Abstract:Abstract We give here an almost sure central limit theorem for self-normalized partial sums of a strictly stationary φ-mixing sequences which is in the domain of attraction of the normal law with mean zero and possibly infinite variance. The extreme value distribution G x (x) of this particular triangular array of i.i.d. random variables Z 1, n , Z 2, n ,…, Z n,n is discussed. A new type of not max-stable extreme value distributions which are Fréchet mixture, Gumbel mixture and Weibull mixture has been found if F j , …,F m belong to the same MDA. Whether mixtures of different types of extreme value distributions exist or not and the more general case are discussed in this paper. We found that G Z ( x ) does not exist as mixture forms of the different types of extreme value distributions, after we investigated all cases.

Abstract:The central limit theorem of martingales is the fundamental tool for studying the convergence of stochastic processes, especially stochastic integrals and differential equations. In this paper, the central limit theorem and the functional central limit theorem are obtained for martingale-like random variables under the sub-linear expectation. As applications, the Lindeberg’s central limit theorem is obtained for independent but not necessarily identically distributed random variables, and a new proof of the Lévy characterization of a GBrownian motion without using stochastic calculus is given. For proving the results, Rosenthal’s inequality and the exponential inequality for the martingale-like random variables are established.

Abstract:Let {Xn;n ≥ 1} be a sequence of independent random variables on a probability space (Ω,F,P) and $${S_n} = \sum\nolimits_{k = 1}^n {{X_k}} $$. It is well-known that the almost sure convergence, the convergence in probability and the convergence in distribution of Sn are equivalent. In this paper, we prove similar results for the independent random variables under the sub-linear expectations, and give a group of sufficient and necessary conditions for these convergence. For proving the results, the Levy and Kolmogorov maximal inequalities for independent random variables under the sub-linear expectation are established. As an application of the maximal inequalities, the sufficient and necessary conditions for the central limit theorem of independent and identically distributed random variables are also obtained.

Abstract:In this paper, the functional central limit theorem is established for martingale like random vectors under the framework sub-linear expectations introduced by Shige Peng. As applications, the Lindeberg central limit theorem for independent random vectors is established, the sufficient and necessary conditions of the central limit theorem for independent and identically distributed random vectors are found, and a Lévy’s characterization of a multi-dimensional G-Brownian motion is obtained.
