Exploration on Multi-level and Interdisciplinary Opening Laboratory Teaching

Abstract:This paper analyses the difference between opening laboratory and normal class laboratory,demonstrates the new conception of " opening laboratory teaching". In the case of the Chemical Department of Tongji University,it introduces the experience of " multi-level and interdisciplinary" in opening laboratory teaching. " Multi-level" means the classification of experiment contents. Certain contents are selected with different students in the course of teaching. " Interdisciplinary" means the range of opening not only restricted to one subject and specialty but extended to other departments and specialties in Tongji University to form interdisciplinary opening Laboratory teaching among different departments. The paper presents the construction process in detail from such aspects as development of experiment contents,selection of opening ways,establishment of teaching management and evaluation system. It also makes a summary of the effectiveness in fostering the students' independent learning and working abilities. At last,the future work of the mode is prospected.
