Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the perioperative utilization of antibiotics in type I incision patients.METHODS:By retrospectively study, the operation histories of 916 patients undergoing thyroidectomy, adenomammectomy or hernia repair in a hospital from Jan.to Dec.in 2007 were analyzed statistically to evaluate the rationality of the use of antibiotics.RESULTS:99.2% of the patients with type I incision received antimicrobial prophylactically. The rates of antibiotics used in single kind, two kinds, and 3 kinds concomitantly were 75.76%,19.32% and 4.15%,respectively.The top 3 antimicrobial agents on the DDDs list were penicillin(276 cases),compound preparations of β-Lactamase inhibitors(221 cases)and fluoroquinolone(149 cases).59.09% used antibiotics for more than 3 consecutive days.CONCLUSION:The irrational prophylactic use phenomenon of antimicrobials for type I incision operation in this hospital was severe in that the indication for drug use is not strict, the starting point is high, the drug combination is irrational, the medication time is nonstandard and the medication course is too long etc.Great importance should be attached by tightening control on the management of the use of antibiotics and standardizing the medication behavior of clinicians to improve rationality of the use of antibiotics.
