Feasibility Study on Time Bank Mutual Pension Model Construction Based on Platform of Nursing Colleges——Investigation on Nursing Students' Cognition of Time Bank Mutual Care for the Aged and Their Willingness to Participate

Abstract:Objective To understand the cognition and participation willingness of nursing students to the mutual pension model of time bank, so as to provide reference basis for the exploration and practice of time bank mutual care model in nursing colleges and universities. Methods A self-made questionnaire was used to investigate 2858 nursing students in North Sichuan Medical College, including basic data, awareness of time bank mutual care model, willingness to participate and influencing factors. ResultsOf the 2858 nursing students, 20 (0.70%) fully understood, 1394 (48.78%) did not know much, and 1044 (36.53%) did not understand the time bank mutual care model at all. 82.40% of the nursing students learned about the pension model only through this survey. 89.92% of the nursing students were willing to participate in the time bank mutual care model. Female students, those who did not enter clinical practice, had a higher educational level, had shared life experience with the elderly, had participated in pension voluntary service and understood the time bank mutual care model had a stronger willingness to participate (p < 0.05). ConclusionThe enthusiasm of nursing students to participate in the time bank mutual care model is high, but the degree of recognition is low. Efforts should be made to explore and practice the time bank mutual care model based on the platform of nursing colleges, and at the same time, publicity and promotion should be strengthened. In order to enhance nursing students' deep understanding of the connotation and requirements of this model, and lay a solid foundation for nursing colleges to select and train elderly service volunteers and nursing students to engage in elderly nursing practice in the future.
