International Collaboration of Traditional Chinese Medicine for Cancer:A 5-year Summary from 2003～2007

Abstract:It is rapid developing for integrative medicine in recent years,especially its main part traditional chi- nese medicine(TCM).Since February of 2003,an international collaboration is established for"International Center of TCM for Cancer"between university of Dexas MD Anderson cancer center,USA and Fudan university cancer hos- pital,China.The results showed that the internationalization of TCM exists inevitable and formidable.The conclusion is that if we hope TCM may make for the internationalization,the issues and bemusements need to be recognized and solved first.Secondly four principles need insisting on,i.e.the scientism,TCM theory dominance,opening to outside world and innovation,multi-subjects cooperation.The essence of TCM theory,e.g.the important concept of harmoniza- tion of Yin and Yang,individual treatment based on differentiation of symptoms,treatment based on TCM disease progress,preventive treatment for PD and nature,society & people in one system,etc,must contribute to modern medicine all over the world.
