Abstract:Most enterprises in China are less able to make a survival on their own, thus they can not obtain normal profits. One of the main reasons for this is the insufficiency in market system. To increase of ability of self-survival can promote more marketization and clusterization of the information industry. As a developing country, China needs to take more advantage of industrial clusterization to strengthen its international competitiveness. At the same time it is necessary to carry on renewing the national system of innovation while applying the innovational policy into practice.

Abstract:Recently,the ever-emerging network organizations have been playing an active role for enterprises to cope with turbulent market circumstances.Especially the industrial clusters,extolled as the impetus of district economic development for their extensive radiation,are becoming the concerns and cultivation from local governments.But due to its unique features,there also exists malfunction of network as a kind of governance mode.Although scholars have treated the malady of outsourcing and high failure rate of strategy alliance,they failed to focus on the network failure of industrial clusters,a more complex network organization.This paper analyzes network features of industrial clusters comparing with that of outsourcing and strategy alliance from dimensions of object definitude,structures level and body diversification,then puts forward the representation of industrial clusters' network failure such as dilemma of network scale,social relationship and supporting institutions.In the end,this paper furthers to discuss the enlightenments of malfunction to clusters' development policy.

Abstract:There definitely exists an innovation process for industrial clusters' development,owing to the affect of political change, evolution and devolution of industries, progress of technologies and society,reginal environment,condition of resouces and competition of the market.It would be critical for us to have an thorough understanding on the life- cycle of industrial clusters and its sections, if we expect a sustainable industrial development. Firstly this paper introduces the concept of industerial cluster,and makes a systematical review over researches of industrial clusters' life-cycle.Then pays atttention to the analysis of productions that concerned,especially that of the industrial clusters' inner dynamism and innovation path.Finally ends up with some constructive suggestions as well as expectation for further research.

Abstract:The planning and construction of innovation cluster is a form of spatial production based on innovation development mechanism.In recent years,although China has carded out a lot of planning and construction of innovation clusters,the functional mechanism is not clear yet.On the basis of literature review of innovation development,the paper analyzes the components,function mechanism,and spatial interaction from the viewpoint of innovation ecological system,and puts forward the functional structure and spatial organization mode.With the case of Chengxi sci-tech innovation corridor of Hangzhou,the paper summarizes its development rules and problems,and puts forward the spatial cultivation strategies.Innovation ecological system is an important theory to explain the development mechanism of innovation cluster,and it helps guide the planning and construction of innovation cluster.

Abstract:Against the economic globalization background, enterprises in our country are facing the intensifying competition. The current theory is limited in angle of enterprise and industry competition, showing the lack of cluster competitiveness analysis. To most small and medium-sized enterprises without core competitiveness, industry cluster is an effective type of organization to promote the competitiveness. This paper created the “New-Diamond Framework” by using Porter's “Country Competitive Advantage Theory” as a source of reference and made empirical study on typical Zhejiang textile cluster. We think it has the strategy meaning to promote clusters' competitiveness and internationalization of the small and medium-sized enterprises in our country.

Abstract:A serious obstacle to the innovative development and growth of many large and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises is only the low level of their own financial capabilities, the weakness of state support for technological renewal programs, and the negative attitude of the banking sector of our economy to medium and long-term lending for development programs. A significant factor in successful innovation activity is the integration of its resource potential into technologically similar and similar in content production processes of industrial enterprises. These factors hinder the output of production to a new technological level, to rise from today's most common 3–4 technological order in the main manufacturing industries to a higher technological level, which allows expanding the most important tasks of industrial production – to increase labor productivity and achieve competitiveness in modern markets for industrial products. This article considers the technological innovation system, which is becoming more and more widespread, especially in foreign practice of innovative development, within the framework of an industrial cluster.

Abstract:Industrial cluster reflects a course of China economic development from the reform and opening of the economics, and it is especially observed in the rural area, which offers an explanation why since the 1980s some Chinese industries are so competitive in the world, as well as suggests successful model for inclusive development in China that allows people to highly participate in, and meanwhile to benefit from. This paper mainly focuses on the case of a freshwater pearl industrial cluster in Shanxiahu town of Zhejiang, which clearly demonstrates the evolution course of this industrial cluster, characteristics of its inclusive development and the agents of the industrial cluster formation. It is proved that the synergy of farmer entrepreneurs and government entrepreneurs promote the inclusive development of the rural economy, and facilitate the formation of industrial clusters. And the ability of local government to promote and sustain entrepreneurship and incentives to reconfigure resources to adapt to changing circumstances yields long-term economic growth. © 2011 IEEE.

Abstract:This research focuses on the innovation of Chinese manufacturing enterprises and the impact of cluster competitive system,social capital embedded in the cluster as well as technical strategy choice.The research reaches finding as follows: industry competition intensity has significant influences on operation performance,expansion performance and dynamic multiplication performance;manufacturing industry accumulation results in cluster effect which has a significant influence on operation performance;strong inner cluster relation obviously promotes dynamic multiplication performance;weak relation outside the cluster is the society network resource which Chinese Manufacturing enterprises neglect and this kind of cluster exterior social capital has no remarkable influences on three kinds of innovation performance;defense technical strategies can only obviously adjust the negative impacts of strong inner cluster social capital relation on dynamic multiplication performance;attack technical strategies adjust competition intensity and impacts of strong inner cluster relation on expansion performances positively and significantly.

Abstract:Digital creative industry is the collective name for the creative content industry and creative manufacturing industry that make effective use of digital technology; it takes science and technology, culture and art as input, and economic value and cultural influence as output. The digital creative industry is identified as one of the national strategic emerging industries for the first time during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, and has played an important role in advancing China’s industrial transformation and upgrading and in prospering the digital economy. This paper aims to study the innovation and development direction of the digital creative industry at a macro level, summarizes the development experiences in China, and discusses the future development of the industry. Through a comparative analysis of the concepts and implications of the digital creative industry in China and abroad, the development characteristics, status, and problems of the digital creative industry in China are systematically sorted out, and the overall development ideas of the industry in China are formed accordingly. Furthermore, four major directions is proposed for the continuous innovation and development of China’s digital creative industry, namely, digital cultural creative technology and equipment innovation, digital cultural content innovation, innovative design, and integrated innovation. Moreover, countermeasures and suggestions are put forward on the development and expansion of the digital creative industry, in terms of scientific and technological research, innovation institutions, platform enterprises, talent training, supervision services, and industrial clusters.

Abstract:To evaluate the competitiveness of industry cluster scientifically and completely is not only beneficial to the industry to develop soundly,but also important to the promotion of competitiveness of the enterprises,the region and the whole nation.According to the general property of competitiveness assessment,a methodology principle,named as "from the influencing subjects to the decomposition of the system structure",is put forward to guide the designation of competitiveness index system.This index system includes a set of indicators covering 12 predominant factors,46 sub-factors and 97 measurable items.To analyze the index weights,the definition of cluster scale,collecting data and the related methods shows that this index system has an advantageous and feasible application.

Abstract:In recent years, industry clusters are gradually developing and maturing all over the world. Many scholars have strengthened their understanding of industry cluster in practice, and more have been trying to combine theoretical researches with empirical ones to reveal the nature of industry cluster. Previous studies have found that industry cluster is actually a complex business system rather than a simple multithreaded linear development model, and that cluster has systematic complexity by its nature. Besides the review and summary of existing literature, this article deeply analyzes industry cluster's features of system configuration, business structure, and system evolution. Further, through comparative analysis, the passage reveals, from a qualitative point of view, the fact that industry cluster is complex system and made a detailed argument on cluster's system features, providing a new perspective and entry point for the research and practice of industry cluster.

Abstract:Three clusters which represent groundwork cluster,industrializing cluster and complex industrial cluster respectively are specially chosen as three different stages of industrialization.The groundwork cluster is preparing for industrialization,industrializing cluster is differentiating,specializing and developing,and the complex cluster is trying its best to compete in a wider market.We make an exploratory study on these three different kinds of clusters from the collective efficiency and upgrading strategies view,and the findings are as follows: there is much difference among the collective efficiency of three different clusters and the upgrading strategies of them are significantly different.The paper finally gives some advice for local government and enterprise associations.

Abstract:Industrial cluster has always been a phenomenon of great interest to regional economic development agencies,corporate managers and national strategy scholars.Government plays a significant role in the development and upgrading of industrial clusters.However,government experiences a policy dilemma that exactly how to intervene to promote upgrading of industrial clusters.Extant literature on industrial cluster upgrading in developing countries only emphasizes the importance of embedding in global value chain.This article focuses on the innovation platforms within industrial clusters,which are supported by governments.Recently,Chinese government encourages,supports and even gets involved in setting up sectoral and regional innovation platform by introducing a series of preferential policies.Through a comparative case study between Zhili children’s garment cluster and Shaoxing textile cluster,both located in Zhejiang province,we find a general fit pattern among cluster character,the governance mode and strategic positioning of innovation platform.Specifically,the cluster’s population character(size,diversity,openness and development process) and technology regime(opportunity conditions and appropriability conditions) influence the governance mode of innovation platform,a combination of owner and manager,which is combined with cluster’s technology regime to impact the strategic positioning of innovation platform.The strategic positioning of innovation platform includes two dimensions,namely production orientation versus innovation orientation and generaloriented versus specialized-oriented.The contributions are three-fold.First,this study proposes a typology for innovation platform of cluster.Second,the paper enriches the knowledge-based theory of clusters from clusters’ innovation practices in developing countries.Third,we point out that inserting in global value chain is not always appropriate for clusters in developing countries.Finally,Managerial and policy implications and future research directions are also discussed.One point worth noting is that,national and provincial policy for innovation platform should keep flexible because one size doesn’t fit all and must be locally adapted.

Abstract:This paper briefly analyzes the characteristics and evolution of the Science and Technology Parks in developed countries and in China, irrespectively. Compared with the former, China's state-level Science and Technology Parks have more complex context and more problems in development process. China's high-tech industry has grown quantitatively in various aspects. However, the industry as a whole is still at the low-end of the global value chain. With an innovation cluster perspective, the paper proposes the ideal development path of the Science and Technology Parks of China. The implication of innovation cluster, the importance of institution for collaboration and the influence of global driven force are explained. © 2010 Peking University.

Abstract:The theories and methods of ecology provide a new research means for industrial clusters innovation. Starting from the conception and ecology characters of industrial clusters, this paper investigates the industry cluster innovation by using the ecological niche theory, the logistic curve and coevolution theory. Based on the growth model of population and ecological simulation methods, this paper also discusses the sustainable development of industrial clusters about population relations, population scale, life history strategies, carrying capacity and system balance, and provides some solution for the problems occurred during the development process of industrial clusters in china, to overcome the overlap of ecological niches of enterprises within the clusters, and to lessen the conflicts between the economic development and the environment, etc. In addition, this paper made the empirical study using the model to the architecture industry cluster development of China Yangtze Delta region.

Abstract:Industrial cluster is the source of international or regional competitive advantage. The characteristics of network structure determine the transfer of knowledge and information in the cluster to a certain extent. In this paper the type and representation of cluster network structure are firstly theoretically analyzed. And then the relation between cluster network cluster and innovation capability is discussed, i.e. whether there is any influence on cluster innovation capability and how to influence it. Based on the analyzed results, Deyang high-end equipment manufacturing industry cluster innovation network in China is empirical studied from a practical point of view. Both the western China equipment manufacturing industry network structure and its effects on cluster innovation capability are considered. Finally some targeted countermeasures to perfect the equipment manufacturing industry cluster innovation network are proposed.

Abstract:Under the background of economic globalization, the cultural and creative industries have received great attention from people as soon as they appear. At the same time, it have played an increasingly important role in society. But cultural and creative product categories are cluttered at present. The related creative products have more imitation and less innovation, low technical content. Most of the research and practice of the cultural and creative industry are based on particular point-like or face-shaped research ideas. But they did not build an innovative design system from the macro level. So that it is impossible to form a regular and general theoretical framework. What’s more, it is also not possible to balance the relationship between the universality of the innovation theory system and the regional differences.In view of the problems and shortcomings of the innovation and development, this paper will base on the dynamic analysis of social development and the poor county of Songxi, Fujian as an example. Explore the new system and new model for the innovation system and method research of cultural and creative products. First of all, through market research and analysis, information retrieval and social practice, this paper uses inductive and comparative methods for many systems in the creative industries at home and abroad. Then, combined with the development trend of the world creative industries and the current situation of China’s. And summarize the design methods and principles that can be implemented on the ground. Finally, the scientific and practical implementation of this system is verified by the example of promoting the development of poverty-stricken counties by design, such as Songxi in Fujian Province. Based on the current situation of social development, this paper integrates the phenomenon of the following industry. Defining the cultural and creative industries in a new way by providing a rich theoretical basis and establishing a network. And put forward a set of operational procedures which can be implemented, so that the system method forms a complete closed loop from research to application. It can provides powerful theoretical support for the “logical” application of the creative design method in different design fields.
