Programmed cell death of plant in adversity conditions

Abstract:Programmed cell death(PCD) is a natural cell death process that occurs at certain stage of development,and commonly presents in the process of plant development.With the effect of adversity factors i.e.pathogens,insects,low oxygen and temperature,heat shock and metallic ion etc.,in order to resist bad environment invasion,plant can induce and generate PCD at particular tissue by using Ca~(2+),active oxygen,NO etc.as signal factors,thereby avoid further damage to other tissues,and get adaptability to bad environment. The paper summarized the general characteristics,environment stress factors and its transduction pathway in inducting PCD signal,biological significance and existing problems of PCD of plant,it could provide references to further study PCD of plant in adversity conditions.
